Sorry again for being such a noob, but u know the file u attached to the video [ yes i saw it ] does that work for any HTC WildFire S?
thanks for your help i really appreciate it..

This is how I unlocked the boot loader for my vodafone nl(also not listed between the ruu's) htc wildfire s.
Download this Thanks to: click
Now create a goldcard usingthis tool for example
Now open the file(HTC unlock.rar) you just downloaded.
You will see 2 files: PG76IMG1.zip and PG76IMG2.zip.
First copy PG76IMG1.zip to your SD card, rename it to PG76IMG.zip.
Now load your phone's boot loader (take out battery, put the battery back in, hold power+volume down)
If everything is done right it will see the zip file, and it will ask you if you want to flash it. Say yes.
After it is flashed reboot your phone and delete the PG76IMG.zip on your SD card.
Now copy PG76IMG2.zip to your SD card and rename it to PG76IMG.zip
Now load your phone's boot loader.
If everything is done right it will see the zip file, and it will ask you if you want to flash it. Say yes.
After it is flashed reboot your phone and now follow the steps on htcdev.com
Except on the page where you have to select your carrier just click continu. (you just flashed the HTC EU RUU).
Now your phone should unlock .
At least this worked on my HTC Wildfire S from vodafone nl wich is also not on the list of carriers.(after trying many other things and continuously getting errors.)
Hope my english wasn't to bad :$.

[TUTORIAL][S-ON] Unlock Bootloader using HTCDEV.com
All I found was htc EU (must be generic) and Vodafone UK. If it is not a vendor locked phone then you should still be Ok.

If you just want to clear the Vodafone crap off the phone then just make a goldcard and run the european RUU. Thats what I did and it was perfectly straightforward. Now I'm looking at unlocking bootloader too though, as I ran out of internal memory, so I need to root and install link2sd.
I'm Vodafone ire aswell BTW, my phone was Vodafone branded when I got it.
Ps, remember to backup before you do anything, you will lose everything.

Root and flash Orange branded (but unlocked) Desire

Hi,
I just bought a HTC Desire from Orange FR.
I bought an unlock code on ebay, it worked very well.
My question is : If I root my phone, and flash a generic Europe rom, will my phone still be unlocked or not ?
Do I still need to do the gold card ?
Thank you for your help
Yes your phone will still be unlocked, it doesn't matter what you do to the phone now, it will always be unlocked (unless you change mainboard)
No, you shouldn't need GoldCard now either, but if it's not working, then obviously use a GoldCard
Really good to hear,
Thank you for your answer !
You will still need a goldcard to root.
The sim lock has nothing to do with the goldcard.
You will also find that if you flash a rom with a new radio it will sim lock your phone again. You just need to re enter your unlock code to fix that though.

I flashed the new leaked radio and it didn't sim lock my phone, I got branded Orange UK, had to unroot to unlock it then re-root and now I've flashed a few radios and it's still unlocked
And sorry about the information about the GoldCard, I read it and thought that you only needed it if the carrier was locked, not that it was branded, so yes you will need GoldCard
You may have been lucky with the radio flashes! There have been loads of posts from Orange users who have flashed any radio other than the 405 one and it locked their phones. Either way, once you have the unlock code you are sorted anyway

Yer, it sim locks Orange if you haven't already unlocked it, it used to sim lock mine and even if I entered the unlock code it wouldn't unlock, I had to unroot and everything just to unlock, and now I can flash any radio and it stays unlocked
Do I have to root to do this ? :
How to flash ROM
You need to have HTC Sync and Android SDK installed
Download this
Turn off Desire and then turn it on while holding back button to enter bootloader(white screen)
Once in "white screen" press power button again to enter bootloader
Connect Desire with PC
Press Volume Down and than Power to enter Recovery
Now the red triangle should show up, go to folder you downloaded file and press recovery-windows.bat, recovery-mac.sh or recovery-linux.sh depending on which OS you have
Now you are in recovery mode (green screen), press Wipe and than Wipe data/clear storage, than press optical tracker to confirm it
After that press Volume Down to go back to main menu in recovery
Navigate to Flash zip from sdcard using optical tracker, select .zip confirm it and wait until process finish, after that press Reboot system and unplug you Desire
Enjoy your new ROM
I just want to flash a generic Europe rom.
Thank you
Yes you need root to do that
Hi, Thank you for your help..
A few questions please.
I had to make a goldcard even if phone was SIMUnlocked.
It worked well, my phone is now rooted.
Android says there is an update available, 1.21... it tries to install, phone reboot, green logo appears, and then logo change to red ? and reboot, phone not updated.
What does it mean ?
I had a Orange France branded phone, the rooted generic rom is it "Europe" there is French language in it.
Is it needed to update to 1.21 ?
Do I have to find an Europe ROM ?
When I try to flash any ROM (like Europe official ROM) by renaming it to update.zip with recovery menu, if fails, signature error. Do I need the "ClockworkMod" ?
Thank you for all
If your rooted, you can flash any ROM you want, you don't need to update to 1.21.
But for some ROMs it requires you to install a new radio first, so watch out for that.
Well, not sure how to do it.
On recovery menu ? flash a zip from SDCard and select it ?
The OTA 1.21 update fails do flash with a red "?" is it normal ?
If I update with OTA Update, it will remove root access, right ?
Thank you

Correct!
If you flash an OTA or official update from HTC you will lose root.
In recovery, choose flash a zip from sd card, then select the one you want. It's not always needed, but it's a good idea to do a full wipe before each new rom. If you experience odd behaviour and you haven't wiped, then reflash it after wiping.
Thank you for your help and your patience.
Is there any advantage to find a 1.21 rooted update ?
or rooted 1.15 is enough ?
thank you again.
As far as I know 1.21 has a few minor fixes, and a couple of new icons.
Just out of curiosity, what did you root for? Most people do it for apps2sd or to put a custom rom on. I'm just wondering, that's all
Well, I had a branded orange ROM, I wanted to remove it.
I thought I needed to root to flash the phone, maybe I'm wrong. I had to make a goldcard.
I will probably use apps2sd in the next few days, I just need to know if I can still have (need ?) goldcard and apps2sd..
I did not search but I saw you format SD to install apps2sd, I don't know if I can install goldcard again after. I will search for it.
Now my phone is rooted (and unlocked with code before flash), I don't know if I need to keep goldcard.

You didn't need to root if you just wanted to debrand away from Orange, a goldcard and official wwe rom would have done. As you want to use apps2sd then rooting was the right option though!
I'm not 100% sure on the goldcard, if you need it again, but I do know you will wipe your SD card for apps2sd. You need to partition it which basically reformats it.
Yeah I saw this, I have to check if I can restore Goldcard after.
Is WWE recommanded for me ? I guess rooted image is WWE (there French language is in it, why ?) ... My as I'm in France, I don't know if I need to find a European ROM or not
Thank you

[Q] HELP! Desire won't boot!

Hi everybody,
I have an S-Off HTC Desire running LeeDroid 2.3d. I've also flashed Clockwork Recovery 3.0.0.5 as the default recovery for the phone. I have been using an 8GB microSD until I got a 16GB today. I pulled the 8GB out and inserted the 16GB into the phone. However, once i put the 16GB inside the phone, it would no longer boot. The phone no longer boots up into the ROM, and it doesn't boot into Recovery mode as well; it just remains at the white HTC screen. Basically, I can only get into the Bootloader and Fastboot. Does anyone know what might be wrong and how I could fix this? Thanks a lot in advance!!
EDIT: I have since tried flashing different recoveries through Fastboot, but to no avail.
Come on guys I would REALLY appreciate if anyone could help me out with this =)
It boots up with the old 8 GB card?
If yes, you have to partition the new card for the custom ROM and reflash the ROM or restore a nandroid backup.
Sent from my customized HTC Desire using TTP
No, the phone does not boot up even with the old 8GB card. It's the same issue as with the 16GB card.
Do you guys think it would help at all if I tried to remove S-off from the device? I'm getting pretty desperate for ideas so any help is greatly appreciated.
Would anyone know how to remove S-off? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe I need the PB99IMG.zip file that downgrades the HBOOT from 0.93.1 down to 0.80 (or any other version would probably do). Is this correct? Does anyone have the file they could link me to? Thanks!

I would suggest running the RUU for your original rom, or one of the WWE ones. This will put your phone back to stock, no root, no s-off.
All of your data will also be wiped.

I'm sorry but I'm not sure how to do that. Can I do that even though I have no access to Recovery mode? If you could give me some instructions and point me in the direction of the file, that would be great!
You can do this if you can get into fastboot.
What are your original rom details? And was your phone branded/which carrier/which country etc..
The more details the better
Sent from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk
Originally, my phone was from Hong Kong. I didn't buy it with a carrier, it was from an electronics store. So basically, it was unbranded and unlocked when I first got it.
Also, I'm really not sure how to do this through Fastboot, or even where to get the files... So yah... Sorry if I'm such an idiot lol
One more thing. I'm not sure if this is relevant but I don't have a goldcard.
OK, short and bundled for you. This is only a guidance list, you'll have to get the details yourself with your google-fu.
- get the android SDK. You'll get adb and fastboot with it.
- install the adb drivers.
- once you got that try "fastboot devices" in your windows command shell.
- it shows your device? OK, you did everything correctly.
- get to flash whatever you like by downloading an img file and flashing it with "fastboot <target location> <img-filename>
Cheers.
Ok another possibly stupid question. I've gone on this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=695667 and have downloaded one of the GSM WWE files. However, it's a .exe file. What do I do with that? I was under the impression that Fastboot only works with .img files? Also, what is the difference between the GSM WWE and the GSM URL files?
I have tried following some instructions I found off Google. It told me to run the RUU .exe file and extract the rom.zip file from it. I did this, renamed it to PB99IMG.zip, put it onto my SD, and tried to flash it via the Bootloader. However, I am given a message saying the CID is incorrect. I'm guessing this might be because I don't have a GoldCard? All in all, my phone is still not fixed, and I'm really hoping someone could help me out (i.e., give me some instructions as to how to flash the RUU .exe file through Fastboot).
Remove the PB99IMG.zip file from the sd card.
Turn off the phone.
Hold down back and the power button.
You should now be in the fastboot menu.
Plug the phone into your computer with usb. It should now say 'fastboot usb' instead of 'fastboot' on the phone.
Then run the RUU exe file on your computer and follow the instructions on the screen of your computer. It will install the rom automatically.
I had this problem at the weekend and couldn't fix it. Phone went off to HTC who have sent it back after fixing, I don't know what they did though because I missed the delivery of my phone back today
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=951950
The error message indicates you need a goldcard to flash the WWE ROM.
have you checked if one of the Asian ones can be applied without a goldcard.

The Downgrade of the Bootloader only works if you are running a device that can actually boot up fully. Download this RRU, put your phone into Fastboot via the Bootloader menu, connect your phone to the computer whilst in Fastboot, you should see the Red Fastboot writing change to Fastboot USB Plug, when you see this run the RRU you downloaded, and you're device should be restored to Factory Default with the latest version of Froyo. You WILL loose all data and root and S-Off, but this is the only thing I can think of to fix your device mate hope I helped...
*Sorry, I just realised someone had posted a similar tutorial, I only read the first page of the thread, didn't realise there was a second. You don't need the AndroidSDK, if you have HTC Sync installed, then all the drivers should automatically be there, but when you run the RRU, just make sure that you close HTC Sync (it'll appear in the taskbar on Windows) as it thinks the device is syncing, and can occasionally cause problems.
YES!!!! You guys are amazing! I managed to find my old GoldCard and flashed the RUU jaaystott posted. The phone now boots up and everything is in perfect working order. I'll be sure to thank everyone for their help!

I had this problem initially on my SLCD desire 0.93 hboot.
The reason is that it need a custom root file to loaded through unlocker. This is available through XDA http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=9245153]
recovery-RA-desire-v1.7.0.1-R5.1-0.93.rar
after this it rooted perfectly

Go through this process if all else fails for you.
1. Make a goldcard (google it so you dont have to mess with hex anymore).
2. If your phone isnt branded download the latest ruu (or earlier if you want a lower hboot, but that doesn't matter anymore).
2a. If your phone is branded, find the ruu for your carrier.
3. Optional - if you are rooted, then nandroid, if not, back up apps etc if you want them.
4. Install HTC Sync (for drivers).
5. Put your phone in to fastboot (power + back button).
6. Connect USB and run ruu.
7. Once all that's done, select usb debugging and run unrevoked.
Worked for my messed up Desire!
- If step 6 is giving you hassle, go to device manager, find android and select drivers from a list, there should only be one or two extra.

PS: Thanks everyone who took their time to post and help me
Pls refer to this page , sorry for my poor english.
连接手机和电脑,打开CMD(开始->运行->输入CMD,回车)
这里我一不小心,用了cygwin,所以显示上和你的会不太一样,没影响,仅仅是显示不太一样而已
输入:adb shell(确定你装好了adb,不过,你能遇到这个问题,应该就是装了吧)
然后
输入命令:/system/__unrevoked_su(使用unrevoked传至手机中的东东来获取root执行权限)
输入:cat /dev/mtd/mtd0 >/sdcard/misc.img(将misc分区镜像导出到sd卡上的misc.img文件中,强调一次,cat后面是有一个空格的!)
输入:getprop ro.cid(获取正确的CID号)
上一命令会有一个返回值:11111111(这个仅作为举例,请记下你获取到的值)
输入:exit(退出root)
输入:exit(退出adb shell)
输入:adb pull /sdcard/misc.img(将misc.img文件复制到CMD执行路径下,例如图中是Kitchen这个文件夹中,手动复制亦可,自由变通)
第一步完成了(这个时候没必要把CMD关了,待会还要用的)
现在打开一个十六进制编辑器,我用的winhex(提示镜像文件为磁盘时,选择否)
从0位置开始进行编辑。将上面获得的CID值写入,最后一位以00填充作为结束,如下图
然后就是要把这个misc.img文件重新刷回手机了。
输入:adb push misc.img /sdcard/new-misc.img(将该好的misc.img传到SD卡中,命名为new-misc.img,手动复制亦可,自由变通)
输入:adb shell
输入:/system/__unrevoked_su
输入:/data/local/flash_image misc /sdcard/new-misc.img(将修改过的misc.img文件重新刷回手机)
Try this version of unrEVOked:
http://www.sendspace.com/file/dd5yh9
As I mentioned above in Chinese
1. Pull out the misc partition to a misc.img
2. Write the correct CID into this misc.img file
3. flash back
You can traslate the Chinese into English with google traslate
Try unrevoked version 3.21 seems to work fine
Regards

(UK USERS ONLY), Where is the HTC Wildfire S 2.3.5 Update on T-Mobile UK?

After looking at HTCDev, i noticed that they released a 'Semi S-OFF' for the phone however an update was required and 4 months of waiting is just mind blowingly (not sure if thats a real word) long! After some research i realised that Vodafone Customers got an update in around August, and looking at all these ROMs are just soo tempting Hense 3.5, CM7.2. If you guys think that it wont be coming out in a long while, do you think i can flash another HTC Rom like HTC Europe (for the WFS Of course)
Yes flash the latest Europe ruu to debrand then goto htcdev and do the bootloader unlock stuff.

You'll wait for hell to freeze over before T-Mobile do OTA update. Here's what I did:-
Download an RUU that's closest to yours but suitable for updating. I picked the EU one from the HTC website
Run the RUU (this is if you run Windows) and look for the Windows TEMP folder (usually found under the user folder in Documents and Settings\<User>\Local Settings\Temp) these files will only exist if you leave the RUU Program open, so just open it up and move the window to the side, search under the Temp folder for rom
You will find 2 zip folders named rom_01 and rom_02, copy these 2 zips to your desktop
Now change the name of rom_01 to PG76IMG and copy it over to a microSD, insert into your phone and boot into HBoot, it will go through the normal process of detecting and then opening the zip and will ask you if you wish to update the radio to v2, allow it to do so, and it will do its thing and when completed ask to reboot.
(If you've got an early hboot, check your phone is still S-ON as some people have reported their phones were S-OFF at this stage.)
Now change the name of the second rom to PG76IMG, remove the first file you put on the microSD and replace it with second, back into HBoot, it will read the file and ask you to update HBoot and Radio, allow it to do so and it will update the HBoot, should say OK next to HBoot, once completed it will ask to be rebooted
Phone should now be unlocked and you can follow the link at the bottom of the HTC unlock page for further instructions.

OK I've checked back and I used to TMO UK RUU.
I've extracted the two roms from it and placed them here:
http://www.zen202900.zen.co.uk/phone/TMO_RUU/rom_01.zip
http://www.zen202900.zen.co.uk/phone/TMO_RUU/rom_01.zip
Awsome! I'm outside right now but I think the hboot version is 1.03.XXX I think
Edit
Is there supposed to be a difference? I flashed it successfully but there's no difference in the UI etc.
They are quite small in size arnt they? 9mb-155mb

I had that issue. You need to downgrade the hboot to 0.90. There is a tutorial here on the forum. It can be done to a uk tmobile s-on phone, I know, that's what I've got. good luck!

[Q] Problem at startup with DHD

Hey Guys,
I have a big problem with my desire HD. I get it from a friend, he make a update, an after that still boot the DHD only until the bootlogo...
Its all original...with german vodafone branding. S-ON, hboot:2.00 0027...
Problem Vodafone has no RUU Stock roms....I try it with the PD98IMG.zip from a HTC Stock Rom but I get the message in the bootoader after checking: CID incorrect....
So I delete the hboot file in this zip and after checking the zip it comes NO error message, but sadly he get back to the bootloader....so I think that CID request is defined in the hboot file...
I hope everyone can open this file and change the CID to my Vodafone branding (VODAP102) ... i uploaded on zippyshare.

Other solutions can be also written of course!
Soory for my bad english
Thanks!
So what is your problem?
Your phone freezes out meanwhile boot animation?
Try boot into safe or recovery mode. Flash a new image and everything should be fine.
I recommend

Why are you pasting an hboot? that won't help your issue, but will probably worsen it. What you need is to create a goldcard and flash an unbranded RUU.
What update were you trying to flash?

Yes, but I cant create a Goldcard....because my DHD boots only to the bootlogo and then stop it....and next problem.....I have a vodafone mobile phone, and there no exists any rom. in other words all currently available roms bring me the CID incorrect message.
And the update was a official update .....but I cant exactly describe it, cause its not my phone

No. Goldcards are related to sdcard, so one created in my sdcard will not work with yours. Then, you can unlock the bootloader, flash CWM and custom ROM, then from there create a goldcard and flash a ruu.

I don't get it. To unlock bootloader you will probably need,to update hboot, but not the ROM....you can do all the process in fastboot. If it is ok with you I can help you out via teamviewer

DHD doesn't boot anymore
Hello everybody,
I'm new around here and also a noob when it comes to rooting Android devices. Anyway, I think I might have screwed my DHD while trying to root it. I downloaded the AAHK and followed the steps. At some point the cmd window showed a message telling me that i have more than one devices connected. I don't really know what I did, but my phone doesn't boot anymore. I mean it shows the HTC logo on the white background, but then it turns black and only shows a picture of a phone and a red triangle. And that's it. Can I still save it? Please, help me!

Did AAHK say anything else? What state was the phone in when you ran AAHK on it (unlocked bootloader, Android version, etc.)? What does the phone's bootloader say? Reboot into bootloader by rebooting while holding down power and volume-down.
