Not 100% sure how to regain your data if you don't have a google account linked to it anymore. If you did just going to play.google.com and having it send an app like GotYa. But if the person that took your phone did a full wipe on it recovering anything remotely sounds like more of a challenge than an easy task.
With the phone back in hand you _might_ be able to use some regular PC data recovery tools to pull data off the SD card even if its been deleted prior.
Not sure if Anyone will be helpful in tracking things down, Most of the time the phone company just wants to drop the connection on the stolen phone and move forward from there.
Hopefully someone else will have better information than I can provide though. I've only dealt with Lost phones, never actually had one stolen.
Install Plan B from the online Play Store.
Google +?
Did you have either Google + or Dropbox on the phone? Both backup photos if you enabled them during setup.

I can't download from Google Play store. It says I never accessed from my phone. None of my google accounts worked.
Found my photos but I can not get closer that 323 yards to get my phone. And the police aren't interested because the only crime was the theft from my car. If it were my cold dead body they would look.
Can any of the IMEI or other information help me get closer? How? Force a download? Drag and drop into the apps I have on my google accounts?
Please help!

Thanks got the photos from dropbox! Would love the phone back! Only IMEI etc numbers? See previous post with details on my quest.
Or, how to wipe my contact info.
Install plan b from the play store. Can be done from the computer and remotely added to phone. Its by lookout. Other than that good luck. Glad you got your photos back

Always...ALWAYS link your data with your google account....unless you work for the CIA, FBI, a terrorist organization, or NSA. You can sync your contacts, photos, apps and app settings, you name it. There is no need to walk into a sprint store anymore to "transfer your contacts." I dont know why they even still offer that service when you can just simply sync everything now.

Unluckly my phone was stolen about a week ago. Ignorant thieves didn't change my google account so when I go to android market I can see they're using it and that they changed the sim (I can see which operator they have).
I also blocked the imei but it doesn't seem to have worked because I can see they are still using it. My question is: is there any way to know the phone number of the sim? I could try to track them if it could be possible or it's just the operator? I sooo want my phone back! (even if now I've got a galaxy sl).

Did you install Wavesecure or lookout? If so, they let you track the phone etc...
If you use 2-factor gmail login, you can disable the one-time password that your google account uses.
But without Wavesecure or equivalent, you can't really track the number, unless your network can (and most won't do it, citing "data protection" even when you own the phone).
Stupid laws like this mean technical precautions are best. WaveSecure and other such apps can even GPS locate the phone
Sucks man, I feel for ya... Wishing you the best in your search for these idiots. Give them a firm beating.

While I couldn't condone that, having a GPS position of your device does have many uses, including directing the relevant law enforcement personnel to them, or indeed anyone else who happened to be in possession of the GPL location
I strongly recommend everyone uses some form of tracking app on their phone. There's free and open source ones available...
Well, if they're still using the phone and it's still connected to your Google account, then you can go to the marketplace from your computer, install Lookout on it, and attempt to track it down, lock it, or wipe it. It's worth a shot.
After that, change your google password. It really sucks though that the Market doesn't have an easy way for you to remove a device from your account though. I had my EVO stolen last week, and I looked for hours trying to figure out a way to separate it from my account with no success.
oh oh?
sorry dude very bad for you. change your password from gmail and save the contacts

Ooh smart I forgot about that. Lookout won't do that unfortunately, as you need to set up an account of sorts...
/me wishes you could VNC into your droid phone via google's cloud to phone system, thus negating the issue of NAT.
I wonder... there MUST be an app that allows you to install an app to the phone, that somehow conveys location to you, without entering info on the device...
If not, perhaps we need to work out a way? The issue is how to tell it who to email... Or...
/me sees an idea emerging...
How about an app allowing you to locate phone AFTER it was stolen, without needing to set anything up?
There is!
It's called Plan B (I can't post the link because I'm too noob on this forum, just search the market)
but the market won't let me install it on any phone, I don't know why
my phone wasent stolen but i always thought if it was that they could just use my card info that is stored and buy any apps they wanted my mom uses my captivate now and for the love of god i cant fig out how to take my info out and replace it with hers when i go to add account it still want let hers add any suggestions

Where can I read on the market which operator is being used on my stolen phone?
So my Galaxy Nexus is coming in the mail either today (May 9) or tomorrow (May 10).
I have a Nexus S and A LOT of stuff on it; apps, pictures, music, saved data, email crap, etc.
Is there anyway to transfer all of it to my new Galaxy Nexus??? Like is there some sort of Google service that can do that?
C'mon guys! Someone HAS to know an answer......
I transferred the data (pics, music, etc) from my old phone to a folder on my comp and then transferred it back to the Nexus. Is that an option for you?

Yeah I was going to do that, but on google.com/nexus it says that you can use some sort of Google thing to transfer all of your stuff.... I was just wondering if that would work and how to do it, but if not; Ill just do it the way you said.

The half a paragraph that google means, if you have all your pictures synced with google plus, and have all your music on the google music server, then you would be able to get that back with just signing in, hopefully you sync your contacts with google that also will come back. The apps part well I always found their app restore alittle problematic, it does keep a record of your apps installed, and they will reinstall if you opt into that, but you may get a ton of apps tthat you deleted that may get thrown in there too.
I have not used app brain in a long while but they did have a feature that scans your installed apps and lets save that to your profile, that will be your best choice if that is still a feature. But app data does not get restored, for that you will have too copy over some folders, they should mostly be in android/data but YMMV with that and may be hit or miss if the data gets restored. On a side note if/when you try that install the apps first then copy the android/data folders back over and then restart your phone.
These are your options if your not rooted I may be wrong, but I have restored some games data for a friend by copying that android/data to their new phone
I really hope with google giving out personnel cloud storage that they include a opt in to have your app data stored in their. For normal consumers they do not know xda they do not know root. Having a means to include seemless app backup would be great as for normal people digging through folders to backup app data in case their phone breaks is not something they think about
Ok..

It's referring to Google Backup; if you have an option on your Nexus S to b/u your apps/settings to Google servers, then it will automatically restore your apps, and some settings (wifi passwords, etc...) to your phone. It won't restore any data associated with these apps however, i.e. you made to to the 99th level on some game, etc... It's not a special cloud service you have to sign up for, but you do have to check a box or two. It's handy, but not as potentially awesome as they make it sound. Look in the settings menu on your current phone, option will be under Backup and Restore or alike, and you'll be prompted for these options the first time you fire up your new phone.
IF you're backed up currently, it will auto download your apps (including the free ones) to your phone when you sign into your Google acct.
No idea if it works in going from Nexus S to Galaxy Nexus however.

oooh I understand now. Thanks for the help guys!
OK so I had an instagram account get flagged and banned. This happened before about 2 months ago but all i did was make a new account with a fake email and it worked. I know iphone users have to go switch thier phones or do a factory reset at the store or something. So i thought i was good. Well now it seems the program knows when your phone is YOUR PHONE . Even if i had another account tha wasnt banned I wouldnt be able to get in. So i tried changing my Android Id with Titanium Backup Pro and it didnt work. That led me to believe it is the MEID i have to change maybe.......
Im not sure but i really do love instagram and i honestly think HATERS are flagging my pics because none of them are complete nudity and if its close its more of a photography/artwork nudity then porn ...
any help would be appreciated even suggestions .. lets work .. and thanks in advance
You could contact the instagram admins to find out why you got banned and if there is an appeals process to get your account back.
Or you could take your lumps like an adult and accept the fact that you violated their t&c.

i understand that .. ill find the link to appeal ...
but im not worried about getting my account back..
but it basically banned MY PHONE not my account .. bc i had more than one account for business purposes and now i cant sign into that one on this phone
ive been banned and all i had to do was make a new account ... i know iphone users have to factory reset thier phone or take it to the apple store ..
ive factory reset , flashed a different rom, use titanium backup to change android id ... used a paid app to change android id ..... nothing ..... this is retarted of them as a company why not just delete the account ... what access did they have to ban my entire phone .. HOW DOES IT EVN KNOW ITS MY PHONE
Don't change your meid silly, that's your identity to your phone company.

Lol Thanks .. i dont know what it does but I got my phone to be able to accept accounts. Im not 100% sure but ithink it puts a file called .profig.os on your sd card root so it can know that its your phone but i basically formatted my sd card and ODINED to fc19 and signed in with a different gmail for the initial setup
so it either has to do with the gmail u use with the inital setup and the market
or its that file bc "profig" looks alot like profile instagram abbreviated
but thanks for the tip anyway bc i would of been SOL if i changed my MEID probably
Yes it's the profig that is the one doing that I just kept deleting it every time I logged in thanks very much for this and God instagram sucks for banning both accounts even tho I only did "immoral"stuff on one

I recently have the same problem. Hoping someone can shine some light on my situation. I feel like I tried everything but get a new phone. I was in the process of using Titantium Back Up Pro to change Android ID but came across this thread. Then what I did was clear data for instagram then removed SD Card then reinstalled Instagram but still says my account is disabled. I even changed my android ID removed my current Gmail account made a new one and then installed Instagram all with sd card out and still says im disabled.

It's an Instagram issue that must be taken up with Instagram support.
Rotted Users.
Here is a fix for instagram banning your device.
ROOTED USERS ONLY!
Step 1 : Find a none stock rom or a different rom from what you are useing.
example : Stock LG G2 rom to AOSP
Step 2: Flash the new rom no dirty flash complete wipe.
Step 3: Create a new account with a new email.
Step 4: http://www.bluestacks.com/ i request downloading this VMWARE type of android to create your instagram account.
Alright so i been going nuts trying to figure out why when i sign in a new device it gets full access to all my google account information. I have a few android phone in the the house all using different google address so its fine. But recently purchased a new tablet and both me and my brother signed in which is fine. Installed all the apps that were purchased from the Play Store and this is were the problem is.
When you sign in once the tablet now has access to everything related to that google account and no verification is asked or prompts to login. I don't want my brother reading my emails and he is the same it makes no sense why you enter it once and the device has access to everything. I would like to control what features of my google account a device has access too.
I just want to be able to install purchased apps on the tablet and nothing more, is this possible?
Hahahah. Jebise. Haha. Bravo on the nik.
AFAIK, no is the answer to ur question. Google is said to be working on multiple user accounts. Maybe an app is out on play store that locks ur email app but i havent heard of it.
PS. Pusti brata neka cita email naucice nesto novo. Heheh.

Thanks, it was unintentional way back when i was thinking of an internet alias. It was suppose to be Jebus (Homer say this in one of the episodes) but young foolish me decided to spell it Jebise and it just kinda got stuck and like you once in a while i get these messages. I know what it means now but anyways back to OP.
That is really dump. This is why we never shared accounts, I don't want to purchase the same apps again. I guess Apple has it right with the AppStore because it prompts for a password to install apps and there is no link to email.

or you can just go to the google settings in each tab and tell it not to sync email and calander or just disable google sync for all app all together.

yeah but if you go into the app, you can still manually see emails and such even if sync is disabled. it seems I have to remove my account or use TB which is a pain with multiple devices and that not even including updates.
After some thinking I think I will just have to create a new google account just for purchasing apps and nothing else. Sad google has no real control on this.

not if new apps are purchased or updates.
I think the far easier option is to create a generic email with just a CC used to purchase apps.

Hello!
Today I had a client come in with an unusual request. His Galaxy S 3 is broken (mainly the screen and possibly motherboard issue).
Now this client wants to recover the contacts from the phone - I wonder why he didn't just save them to an email in the first place - but the phone won't turn on at all. He wants the contacts bad and is willing to replace the whole motherboard for it.
What I'm wondering is if it's possible to just open the phone, remove the hard drive and use it with some sort of enclosure to connect it to a computer and open the files? Does somebody know anything about this?
I do not believe the hard drive is damaged.
Any input or thoughts are highly appreciated, thank you!

Contacts are stored on google account or in ATT phonebook. You don't need to do this. Just insert his sim card in other android phone , login to his google account and sync contacts.
Only if he sync'd to his Google or att acct. Theoretically, I think, you could swap his mb into a device with everything that does work. Maybe.

Good idea. So if I remove the hard drive from the clients phone and put it on a working S 3 it should have all the files, etc?
I said theoretically. I'm thinking it should be basically the same as a hdd swap on a pc

Unfortunately he did not sync anything. He has already bought a S 4 from my store and we tried syncing his email, checking the SIM, SD card and everything else. Also the client has some pictures saved on the phone that he wants too so I need access to the hard drive.
This should be possible with a "JTAG".
A JTAG will require soldering, and lots of patience. To do a JTAG, you need to buy a RIFF box to hook up the phone, then install software on PC.
http://www.mobiletechvideos.com
^I was recommended by that person company several times. You can buy a Riff box from there. (I don't know how to JTAG or where software can be found)
You can email the owner of the website and ask for help there.

Thank you for the reply. You and another user have recommended mobiletech so I will reach out to him.
Meanwhile, I will try to simply swap the mb/hd with another working S3 here at the store to see if that works.
I am interested in figuring out a inexpensive method for this since Google doesn't return much info.
Thanks to everyone else and the suggestions! =)
