--Then select "Favorites" from the icons on top and pick the phone icon
--Scroll down to the "etc" folder and select it.
--Once in the folder select "Paste" from the upper icons and your all done. (If you already have an audio boot you might get an overwrite warning. You can safely click OK since it wont damage your phone.
**Note to all Downloaders**
Every phone has a different boot time. Although an animation may be 1 minunte long, it does not mean your phone will take 1 minute to boot. If your phone loads up in 15 seconds then it'll only play for 15. Also if the bootanimation plays out longer than your phone boots, it will usually just replay it.
ALWAYS KEEP A BACK UP OF YOUR ORIGINAL JUST IN CASE although I doubt it will mess up your phone.
-Instructions-
Rename the file to "bootanimation.zip"

*ROM Toolbox Pro

If there's any problem with the bootanimation let me know so I can check.

You should make a tutorial on how to make a boot animation. It would help allot of users here.

If only we could add some boot animation sound lol.
sent from Land Of Ooo.

DmC boot is now up for download.
As for the sound, I don't do those being as people have or want different things. Plus they don't usually play for long. The audio limit is only about 9-10 seconds. There hass been no way of extending it... at least that I know of.

Some suggestions
DragonballZ super sayjin transformation or kamehameha
Inception spinning top end scene
Flying through the clouds
Any type of loading bar
Logos fading in and out (superheros, cars, clothing etc)
Howitshouldhaveended diner scene with batman n superman
Avengers scene where hulk smashes loki
Gangdum style dance
Any popular gifs
These are just random things I think would be cool to have lol but a tutorial would be great too so then people like me won't ask for so many things
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-T989 using xda premium

Seems like a tutorial seems best. Well in that case I will do my best in making a well put up tutorial. I will put those requests on hold until I get the tutorial done.

A tutorial on putting some animation sound would be good too
sent from Land Of Ooo.

Rom tool box is what I use for making boots. All you need is a gif, it converts and installs. It also has a bunch of other options and tweaks.

I believe png works too, but they seem to take up more space when I zip em.
Don't rename the images. Leave them numbered as they are. ie: 0001, 0002 and so on.

They are already numbered for you ?
And could you make it longer than 9 seconds? Like 20?

Yes, they are already numbered so there is no reason to mess with the images unless your rotating them.
The audio never goes past 9 seconds. You can make it as long as you like but it will still only play for 9

It's impossible, the audio will always play for 9 seconds only until someone manages to find a way to extend it. No way around that at the moment.
Also if you guys manage to make your own bootanimations... Please share so we can see your work.

[ICONS/MODS] [3-1-12] Icons and Nav Mods **ANOTHER HUGE UPDATE**

Hey all. Here are all of the icon sets I have made thus far. They all come in FULL sets. They are *NOT* flashable zips, just regular ones. These are probably best used with Nova Launcher or your alternative launcher of choice.. I will add more as often as I make them.
Enjoy and hit that thanks button if you like my work
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
POST 1: Premium Icons
POST 2: Basic Icons
POST 3: Navbar Mods
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
**I'm always open for requests**
Please private message me with your request and I guarantee a reply within 24 hours.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-Thanks to NatemZ (RW) for creating the sexy Rootzwiki wallpaper I package with most of these sets. Make sure to thank him!
-Thanks to Fawkes (RW) for finding a working method to replacing your system apps with mine so they will even show up in you app drawer and so on. Make sure to thank him!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
*These sets are NOT flashable zips! Extract them with something like Root Explorer*
Instructions:
-Method One (Easiest, but does NOT replace system icons or show up in app drawer): Download the zips from the links to your sd card. Use an app like Root Explorer or AndroZip to extract the contents of the zip. In Nova launcher (or whichever one you use), long press the chosen icon and hit "edit" when the little menu pops up. Browse via gallery or root explorer to said extracted icon. Apply. Enjoy.
-Method Two (Advanced, Replaces system app icons):
*I am not responsible for anything you do to your phone. You do this at your own discretion*
1. Perform the all important Nandroid backup. Just in case...
2. Download the icon set of your choice to your SD card.
3. Use Root Explorer to copy the .apk file of the app you want to edit to your sdcard.
4. Unzip the app.
5. Copy the icon of your choice to the res/drawable folder of said extracted app.
6. Rename the old "ic_application.png" (original icon file) file to ".old" (or whatever)
7. Rename the new icon to the same thing as the old one (ic_application.png)
8. Rezip the entire app up, and then rename it from .zip, to .apk
9. Place the app back into the system/app or data/app folder that you pulled the app from originally.
10. Reboot
11. Place the icon back on the homescreen if you want it there.
12. ...
13. Profit!

I am actually in the process of that right now! I'll be adding to almost all of the sets here shortly, as well as I'll be adding a bunch of new sets and bringing my softkey mods here as well.
Also, I will be updating the OP later tonight with a BUNCH of new sets, updated links as I switched my hosting to goo-inside, Metamorph/Zipthemer softkey mods, and a far cleaner format!
I would also like to apologize to the XDA Galaxy Nexus community as I haven't done my part to maintain this thread and keep you guys updated. I promise from this point forward that will no longer be the case.
Stay tuned guys! I'm about to open the floodgates on a collective 92 hours worth of themeing and mods.
If anyone gets curious and doesn't feel like waiting, download the goo-inside.me app from the market and find me under the devs section. All of my icons and navmods are there

Thanks, loving the icons.

its on the todo list... will do it asap. as of now its crashing @240dpi right?
yep crashes outright and nasty it really don't like 240dpi I will have screen shots up shortly.
OK 240dpi is the way the Note II should have been shipped. you folks running Note II's no your not. your not running a Note II till you goto 240dpi and see the amazing difference in makes (unless you have soso eyesight then you might want to stay at 320 dpi but com eon 5.5" display !!!)
but alas some of the SAMSUNG specific phone apps are designed FOR this phone so there is no reason for samsung to make them "scalable" (lazy bums
so Bala_Gamer figured out how to "alter" them to display properly at 240dpi (which makes them prettier more usable and in some cases usable at all since some apps crash outright) these mods "fix" them so they work right and look right.
I am LOVING it.
Ok Screenies of everything but the dialer (I seem to have misplaced my dialer since installing exdialer .... using the S3 Dialer pics for now (its identical)

Yup, like nerys71 said, it just FCs over and over again. It would be a huge win if you got that working -- it's the only way to use handwriting input.
Ok I do but have cwm.. any chance of getting one that works with twrp?

I went to 240 and didn't like that I had to use swype so I went back.

I'd do it but how do I get it to show the folders? I'm using 7-zip and it's not showing the folders inside
winrar opens the zip fine. there are two root folders. META-INF and mode
there is a zipalign file in the mode folder
I have ZERO skill at this so DO NOT apply this without a backup I may have done it wrong and may screw your phone !!! remember its a $700 phone
I unzipped it replaced the zipalign file and then zipped it back up again. I am assuming its that simple? (bala?)
try it and see what happens in twrp
All you have to do is replace the zipalign. I have been doing this to flash gsm note 2 mods constantly.

PER-APP-DPI/LAYOUT This is not tablet mode! Hybrid engine allows you to target apps individually. You get to pick their actual layouts which can tranform content drastically. Keep in mind, this has nothing to do with build.prop hacks or DPI changes. We list all layouts an app brings, you choose one, its as easy as that. It does not matter if your device runs itself in Phone-, Phablet or Tablet-UI, your apps will always look as you like. On top of that you can scale apps, to fit your screen, that way you can even bring full fledged tablet apps and make them run perfectly. Nothing will break, nothing will shrink, your market will be fine. Additionally we have rewritten many parts of the android framework and fixed countless of AOSP bugs to make way for these modifications - our "tablet mode" runs better on a phone than on a real tablet, that is guaranteed.
PER-APP-COLOR Paranoidandroids newest invention. Define apps in your regular hybrid panel. See your phone fade into the color definition of your current app, press home or go elsewhere and it fades back. Create as many combinations you like, you can even dabble with opacity. This feature is made possible by our hybrid engine, which is unique to this rom.
To be honest, this is not tablet mode at all, it has nothing to do with silly build.prop hacks. This is the first and only Android rom to feature true Hybrid mode. This rom lets you scale and project every app, every widget, even systemcomponents individually. Remember, android is modular, everything is an app: Lockscreen, navigationbar, dialogs, popups, keyboards, widgets, and your regular apps of course. Apps have the capability to switch into various designs or layouts according to the device they run on. This can result in a complete new experience as many apps will transform to the better.
Now for every element that you like chose a mode (PhoneUI, Phablet/Nexus-7UI, TabletUI) and/or a size. You are 100% independent of the system DPI which runs nicely in whatever value it has been assigned to. You do not need to boot your phone into a certain DPI. Neither will most of the changes you apply require a reboot. You will not suffer from the myriads of troubles which normally haunt you under build.prop tablet mode. Your market, phone, etc. will all work, apps won't shrink on you unless you shrink them yourself. This project will entirely transform your device, but retain the aesthetics and the feel of your phone.

If you have an issue and you want to call our attention, here's what you do:
1. Try everything you can, find solutions for yourself. Wipe caches, revert all your settings you have made, go back to your stock Kernel, factory reset if you have to or reflash the rom. Assume that the issue is on your side and try your best to isolate it.
2. Search this thread and Cyanogenmods aswell (its our base) for possible reoccurences of your issue and hopefully solutions that may have come up.
3. If you think the issue is important enough that we should cease our work and look into it, post your issue, BUT ...
... stay friendly, do not demand anything, do not threaten
... explain your issue as precise as you can, name the exact apps and conditions that cause trouble, help us to replicate the issue right away. If we can't there's no way we can fix it and your post will simply clutter the thread
... collect evidence, keep in mind this is a developer thread so even if you are not one, do us the favor and research how to record logcat. logcat is the single most important help you can give us to resolve your issue.

[How to] Make your own animated battery [TW] [mod] [beginner]

How to make your own animated battery
A Beginner's Guide You can do this for MK3 stock-based builds ~ i.e. the MK3 builds of MOAR or Wicked Sensations
News! This guide was featured on the news portal!
For example, this animated gif shows the battery charging animation from the one I made for myself. It uses my own app icon plus a google-like cube I drew. The animation I made looks like this (view in browser or click image). Fun for me...

This is actually very easy once you see what you have to do. The time-consuming part is editing 203 tiny images. Okay? Check it out.
Update: You can also make a huge animated battery - more space for more detail. Be creative! You could make all sorts of different animations with more space. I have ideas. I'm sure you can be creative. I made one with my google-ish theme. It looks like what you see here. If you want to make a gigantic animated battery, follow these same steps in this OP and just use the correct template file below. See also here for more info on the gigantic animated battery.
First get these things:
1a. Download this file Template_Animated_Batt.zip. for regular sized animated battery: http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23329332407569005
1b. Download this file BIG_Goog_Anim_Batt.zip if you want to make a gigantic animated battery: http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23329332407576520
2. Get 7-zip if you don’t have it. Free here: http://www.7-zip.org
3. Get Paint.net if you don’t have an image editor that can work with transparency/alpha layers and png files. Free here: http://www.getpaint.net/
4. Find or create two different images to use as a base. This is the reason you’re doing this, because you want a certain thing. Find or create two images that you want to use for this. You’ll use one image to make the 101 images for unplugged percentages. You’ll use the other image to make the 102 images for the animation when plugged in. They need to be 45 px X 45 px, transparent png files, or you can make them into that. For gigantic animated battery they need to be 42 px X 84 px wide, or you can make them into that.
Once you have your two base images at the correct size for your desired animated battery sequence, let’s get you started on the little bit tedious part…
Do these things:
1. Do not unzip, just navigate into your template zip to this folder:
Vrtheme/system/app/SystemUI.apk/res/drawable-xhdpi
2. TAKE THAT FOLDER OUT to your desktop or something (drawable-xhdpi)
3. Look inside that folder. Replace all of those images with whatever you are creating for your own animated battery image set. (That part can take a while.) You must use the exact file names for every one, and use the same image size as what I have in there. Just “save as” and double click on each one to replace, so you’re certain to not change any of the file names by mistake.
4. After you’ve done all your images, drag that shiny new drawable-xhdpi folder back into the zip file. Close the zip file. Rename the zip file so you know it’s the one you just made.
5. Make a backup then flash that zip to check out your work.
Or if you are a visual person, I recorded making one that I wanted to make for myself. Not my best video, don’t judge, but a quick thing if you need to see it happen. I had a robot voice do the talking in the video too, for no particular reason other than it’s funny to me. The video refers to the regular sized animated battery. Making the gigantic animated battery is the same process. Just use bigger images.

I see some downloads and video views. Anyone have a screenshot to show off your creations for animated batteries?
New Question...
Any interest in a tutorial for how to create your own custom toggles? Not talking about just replacing the image behind them but actually drawing the individual toggles out how you want? Let me know. Lots of creativity around here and I'm glad to support that. And newbies don't need to sit back and not take part in things like this kind of basic theming. I'll set ya' up.
Such as this example.

Okay, right on. I'll put it together in a few days. I think I don't need to start a new thread for a new tutorial of this nature. I will just keep it in this thread and change the title when I add the tutorial on drawing and replacing toggle images. I hope people will notice it's here!
I'll use the same format - explaining in steps plus making up a video demo with the robot-voice, same as what I put in the OP here. I'll do that unless someone has a suggestion for a different format. No need to reply unless you have a request or suggestion for how to make the toggles tutorial better than like what you see in the OP for the animated battery tutorial...
Otherwise, stay tuned.
Hey OP, how do you edit the SystemUI to show the charging pngs sequentially? The thread I followed to get the charging animation to work on my ROM has it only switching back and forth between the tw_stat_sys_battery_charge_x and the tw_stat_sys_battery_x
Hi Chad, I'd have to look it up, but rompnit and dazed already have it in MOAR and Wicked. So this is just a newbie guide about image editing and morph zips to replace existing images in the ROMs that have these things already.
I made a Superbowl battery and shared it on both threads, and got inundated with emails from people asking me to make these for them for their own teams. Thought I'd show the few hours of work involved in what they were asking me to do for them, while showing them that it can be time consuming but it is actually simple. Dat's about it.

You'll need to edit the 'stat_sys_battery_charge.xml' in the drawable folder.
Now, if only we can get someone to port all of these cool "Samsung only" features to other devices (specifically the RAZR HD, cough cough)...
I made a new, oversized animated battery for my own phone. I'm into this google-ish theme I've been working on, so here is another fun animated battery if anyone wants it. It has a sort of flickering lightning bolt for under 30, and then four google-color cubes that fill in from left to right. Unplugged images are the same in this one but you can always make them different if you want for your own.
This is an animated gif. If viewing on mobile, click thru to view animation:
Download here: http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23329332407576520
This works on Wicked Sensations MK3 to add some goggley color variety to your theme.
My screenshot shows it on MOAR MK3. To use this oversized animated battery as your stock battery in MOAR:
Go into Settings -> My Device -> MOAR Mod control - Battery Settings -> change color to white and uncheck alpha.
Backup first in case you don't like it. I like it. :good:
If you want to make a huge animated battery image set for yourself, follow the steps in the OP. Instead of using the template ZIP in the OP, just use my flashable zip fle from this post. Replace all of my images with your own of the same size, one by one. The little video in the OP walks you through how to do that. Enjoy.
Won't let me thank you but this looks awesome! And I love the Google themed stuff BTW, if you've got anymore.
Good stuff! :good:
@erikalin -- awesome job! Keep it coming!
