hi, i am using sony xperia s with freexperia cm9.1.
the last few times i tried fxp cm10 and experinced a big battery draining. from 99% to 70% in just 3 hours and so on... it was in standby and i just used a few times in that time...
does anyone have the same problem?
i tried it withe the cm10 version 149 and 150 from fxp and i have still the same problem...
i can't ask here because of the "10-Posts-Rule"
when i install the rom, i clear the dalvik-cache and then flash the zip..
do i need to do something else?
The drain can be high at first let it settle and check the drain after you have recharged the battery 2-3 times.. And as always if you have bad 3G coverage it will drain your battery, I always have mine set to 2G, no DATA and no Location services(gps). If I'm only using my phone in a moderate way it lasts 1½-2 days.
Yeah I've been noticing this as of late. I'm having major battery drains and can't seem to find the cause, it's like literally less than 12 hours before I need to recharge?
I'm having the same problem as well... With the Stock Rom and CM9 i could work much longer.
CM10 is eating up my battery...
its not because gps, wlan or whatever..
i've these things always on (CM9) and the battery life is good, but not on CM10
however i'am now on DualCores StockMod and it's veeeeeerrrryyyyy goood
the only issue for me is low incall volume
to all try nova kernel
I'm using that it works good.
even fixes low in call volume.
nova kernel? is it only for cm?
gonna try it tommorrow when the world is still there :fingers-crossed:
" It is for JellyBean ROM such as CM10 and AOKP ONLY."
Use PAC rom and nova kernel. I get really good battery life with that combination. Its been on for 28h now and i have 34% left.

what governor r u running?
did u open up the camera and back out to make sure it was keeping ur phone awake?
how often do u have things sync?
do u have something running in the background like a messenger app? or push email?
I reas that android revolution hd is really good! I'm working on rooting my phone (having problems, I'm a newbie) them that is going to be my choice. I saw that everybody talks very well about it

Figured out it was largely the camera app that kept waking my phone, also I use delayed lock which drains it a lot as well

Dear friends,
I have had some problems with my battery, as you can check here:

I don't know if I have been spoiled by Nokia, because I had a Nokia E72 with a tiny screen a 1500Ah battery (Two days connected with EDGE/Wifi updating Whatsapp and Gravity).
I just need Whatsapp and any Twitter application running al the time.. 3G or HSPDA is not a must, I could live with EDGE for battery saving.
I have tried:
Stock 2.3 ROM
Oxygen COS'ed
CM7 RC1
Minwild 4.9 CM
I don't care about fancy widgets and so... I just want battery life... sometimes I use the screen with 10% brightness!
Please, help me! Help will be highly appreciated.
PD: Moto RZR MAXX is too expensive
PD2: I'm using lastest radio and have not messed with Kernels, always using the one that comes with each ROM.
PD3: Testing is so easy, I wonder if someone have done that before? Install ROM, install whatsapp and twitter, config, fully charge, see it discharge and take the time and try with another ROM, right know I don't have the time, but that's what I want to do...!
Bets regards.
Far as I know those roms aren't exactly power hungry.
ManU kernel is recognized for batter saving.
You can use with MildWild CM version.
For oxygen I think you have to use thalamus kernel.
I'm using Oxygen V4 MildWild with latest thalamus kernel and with normal use (wifi once in a while but usually switched off, some browsing, some phone calls, some texts and even a little game once in a while) it lasts me a full day. If I play too much, the battery can last as three hours (with bat, intensive games).

Which ROM uses ManU kernel? I'd like to try that one.
Right now I'm using Oxygen Cosed with Thalamus (I think)
I dont think there is a rom that uses ManU kernel by default. But as long as a rom is based on CM7 I believe you can replace the default one with ManU.

Not entirely true. Oxygen rom and those that use it as base need to use Thalamus kernel. Using ManU on Oxygen roms for example will break your camera.

What do you mean by breaking the camera? I suppose only software...!
Thanks for letting me know that, I was going to flash ManU kernell with Oxygen Cosed! So I'll flash it over MinWildCM.

The best rom for battery, performance and stability is none other than GINGER VILLAIN. If you look at the screenshot most of juice is gone into display as I like 100% display. I am sure you can save further battery with switching off wifi, mobile data, gps, vibrations, display etc. But this rom is pretty much beating other rooms. Only problem people find is there are no future updates for this rom. If you looking for above all then go for this rom.
Hit thanks if it helps you.
Cheers

OxygenMod worked well for me well.

And that would be about 50% correct. The rom does play an important role on battery consuption.
I know you asked about ROMs, but if you dont mind a thicker phone you could also consider an extended battery. I'm using a Cameron Sino 2400MAH battery, cost me £7 from Amazon UK and I get between 30 - 38 hours out of my Desire, depending on use. That's with ICS for Desire by Sandvold installed.
I cant post links yet but take a look at batteryboss.org and it mentions it as being "not a bad deal".
ICS works fine for me
I use the BCM - Ice Cream Sandwich from CM9 Source and it works fine for me. Been up for almost 16 hours with decent usage and pretty poor cell signal the whole time.
The lowest battery drain I've had was using Mildwild's Oxygen Based. Nearly 2 days of battery with pretty decent usage. See the attachments below: you might found them a bit dark cause they were made with screen filter at 50%.
- During night, phone had 2G (GPRS).
- Screen on-time: 3 hours, above 50% usage.
- Always with WiFi or HDSPA (3G) excepts during nights.
With battery perfectly calibrated (it shutdowns at 0%).

I'm using CM 10 (a6), and have been using the stock kernel till yesterday.
Yesterday I flashed the faux123 6u kernel and so far i'm very impressed with it. Average use so far, browsing the web for 15min, reading a few articles through flipboard and replying to some texts, connected to wifi at home for 1 hr, 3g for the 40min trip to work and then wifi at work again.
so in the last 3 hrs i've used 15% battery.

I don't know if I have a godly Htc One X or I'm doing something differently, but I have mobile data on all day, WiFi on all day, listen to music/browse web etc etc on the stock ROM with the Stock Kernal and I NEVER use that much battery.
All day doing this and on average I still have a big enough battery bar to keep it green, I RARELY yellow, red battery bar.
What is so good with my battery?

Battery only lasts 7hrs help !
I flashed CM10 endeavoru unleashed over the weekend (most recent build) with its stock kernel (3.5.7 tripndroid) and my battery is horrendous.
I played 10 mins of angry birds, sent 1 or 2 emails, no wifi, gps on, 10 min of calls and its died in 7 hrs.
Im not a droid noob buts its my first custom rom on the htc one x tegra 3 (and first ever flash without soff for that matter), however I cant seem to flash a different kernel without getting a boot loop (followed many guids to the letter). I can rectify bricked phones etc but cant find a stable fully functioning rom.
2 things then
1 Need advice on clearing the battery issue - better kernel ? things to look for ?
2 Why do I keep getting boot loops after flashing known working kernels (bone question but need advice).

I am using stock Rom with elementalx kernel. Still facing lag and poor performance.
Please suggest me which Rom with which kernel should i flash in my Nexus 5x to get good performance and battery life enhancement.
I am using PureNexus with 0 issues and go all day on battery. I only play one game so I cannot say it will work for you as I only check in on it every now and then. ElementalX is great! Favorite kernel atm. I would say back up, I use Helium for text, call logs, and the like and flash a couple and try some out.

Thanku so much . i have heard that franco kernel is better for battery performance ? Is that true ? And can i use xposed on pure nexus as well ?
I am using xposed and i haven't tried Franco's kernel yet. Try it out. Just a flash away.
I like ubermallow + phasma kernel, great battery and some nice features so I don't have to install xposed (I've always thought it's just a bit sketchy), or if you don't want more features, uberstock, which is just a more optimized version of android

No matter what rom or kernel I use, my battery just doesn't love me.
Latest cm and tried every custom kernel and 2 of them for stock.
Why most G4 power users that i saw have a great bl on cm and on stock rom?
This probably isn't a rom issue or maybe its not a kernel issue.
And how did i make it in Greece? Im on 2G now!
Is there any secret behind this, its annoying me like every time i see it...
Check your apps. Sometimes bad apps can really screw you. I'm on stock V20H and I get 4h-5h SoT with no drains. V20G was also really good. The old V20D had battery issues and run like crap but the newest are smooth as silk. A rogue app may be the culprit. Check your sync settings and disable any syncs you don't really need. Clearing the app cache can also help sometimes.
