USB keyboard - switching layouts - Galaxy S III Accessories

Hi everyone,
I got a small USB adaptor for my Samsung Galaxy SIII, and managed to connect a standard USB keyboard to the phone. It seems to work as expected. However, I'm unable to switch to a different layout, say Russian. Any advice is welcome. Maybe someone knows the magic key sequence?

[Q] Broken t989

Hey guys, I been trying to read the forums the last couple of days but i haven't been able to figure this out.
So both my lcd/touchscreen is not working. (the way i verified is i plugged into mhl adapter and i see screen. but i can't even enter in the pin)
my s2 is stock. and i'm trying to back up the stuff on my phone. (photos/music)
Is there any way to enter in the password through kies/odin/other apps. so i can get to the next step of backing up my stuff on kies?
I've even gone all the way of researching if i can use a usb mouse with mhl adapter and that doesn't seem possible (?)
anyone have suggestions?

If you have a pin (instead of a swipe gesture) and a usb otg cable, you may be in luck. I just set a pin, locked my phone, and was able to unlock it with a usb keyboard connected via the otg adapter. in theory, you could could swap between your otg and your mhl adapter to get things going for your backup. If you have a bluetooth keyboard and mouse, you may want to get those configured first so you can have both input and display at the same time.
My biggest gripe with the sgs2 is a not being able to have otg and mhl at the same time!

There should be a software to connect your phone screen on the computer. You could try that and control your phone from your computer.

Help , need to get OTG and MHL working simultaneously !

Hi guys,
My galaxy nexus screen has been cracked and it does not respond in 75% of the screen.
I bought a MHL to HDMI convertor on amazon and luckily got the phone UI to show up on my TV
Now since the touchscreen won't work , I need to connect a keyboard or mouse via USB OTG and use it for navigation.
Problem is the Galaxy Nexus has only a single microUSB/MHL port combined into one.
I have no idea how to split the output from the phone to connect to a USB OTG cable and MHL to HDMI adapter simultaneously !
Any help will be appreciated,
The phone is not rooted AFAIK , but may be I'm not sure. It was running Android 4.1 JellyBean when I dropped it on the floor
The phone does show up on my Windows PC and I have copied the photos off it. But I still want to copy contacts and SMS messages.
You tried just using something like Android Screencast from the PC (USB debugging is needed)
Also, some MHL adapters have a USB port in them, for power. Have you tried getting a crude micro USB splitter? Like this one? http://www.replacebase.co.uk/micro-usb-female-to-2-x-micro-usb-male-splitter-2392-p.asp#.URk59JGYOBs
Not guaranteed that would work though. Also, a quick google of what you want brings up some others with the same issue, have you tried to see if any of them have succeeded?

Good news
I had a spare galaxy nexus in the office and I gently took the screws of both the devices , and just swapped the displays so that I could quickly turn on usb debugging , backup essential stuff and also turn on bluetooth.
Thanks to some assembly videos on youtube ! will share some pics soon

[Q] Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 (CM11) attaching Bluetooth Keyboard and Mouse

I'm hoping someone can assist me with troubleshooting this issue. My wife's tablet is a Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 running CyanogenMod 11, that we recently decided to attach a bluetooth keyboard and mouse to. The mouse is a Microsoft Sculpt Comfort Mouse and the keyboard is a Logitech K480. She was able to pair both devices initially, but ever since has had trouble getting both to be paired. It seems as if the last connected bluetooth device is the only one that connects after a power cycle. I've also noticed that the mouse for some reason shows up as a Physical Keyboard (see screenshot for reference).
What I've tried so far:
-Using Bluetooth Auto Connect , which didn't seem to make a difference at all.
I would hate to have to return the keyboard and purchase a physical one, so I'm willing to try a few things to get this working.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I'm having the same problem on my Tab Pro 8.4 running CM12. When I was on CM11 the most worked great by itself but now it's seen as a mouse WITH physical keyboard. This expensive mouse is now useless and it's been far to long to return it. It was great for Teamviewer sessions but not any more. I've tried paying in the CM12 thread for the Tab Pro but I received no responses.
I'm having the also problems on my Tab Pro 8.4 (LTE) running (inofficial) CM12 or RessurectionRemix 6.0.1_r66.
Running RessurectionRemix 6.0.1_r66 I am able to connect a Bluetooth Keyboard. Pairing my "Logitech MX Anywhere 2" Mouse also works, but there is no Pointer moving and no mouse-button is working. My next step is trying to connect any Mouse via USB-OTG.

Samsung Tab A (2017) & USB Keyboard

I recently purchased a generic USB keyboard/folio for my Samsung Tab A (2017) SM-T380. The keyboard came with a micro USB to USB type C adapter plug to suit my Tablet.
I can't get it to work. Either, there's a problem with the adapter plug or there's some sort of software setting in the Tab A that I've overlooked that is preventing the keyboard from working.
I have tried the keyboard (without the adapter) with my SGS7 and it works fine.
Has anyone encountered this issue and if so, was there a software solution to it?
Thanks in advance.
As an update to my original post, I purchased a seperate micro USB to Type C adapter and tried it out today without success.
So, I'm guessing this is either a hardware issue or a software issue that is preventing me from using the keyboard with my Tab.

Matepad Pro Keyboard on another tablet

Hi guys,
a question: I sold last month my Matepad, but I still have the Keyboard and pen, in your opinion is possible extract the keyboard framework app to make it working with another Android tablet?
With my new one (galaxy tab s7) system is able to see the keyboard on the bluetooth devices, and recognise it correctly, is able to pair it, but keep it disconnected...
Any suggestion on how the keyboard make the connection with Matepad and from where take the charge?
Thank for your help!
Hi i dont think it will be possible as the huawei smart magnatic keyboard use reverse charge feature to power up the keyboard.
