I've mine for more than a month. The buttons are slightly loose. I've also checked demo units in Samsung stores and they are the same.
S3 buttons are solid.

power button issue

Is it just my a100 or can everybody else turn there unit on and off by pushing above the power button. Try and press just below the headphone jack.
tried it. Didn't work for me.
Could it be that the plate is mounted wrong? Mine doesn't turn off, either.
something must be screwed up in there but everything looks normal round the power button and the heaephone jack.

Weirdly it does on mine also! Only noticed it after you mentioned it so I'm not too worried about it. I am curious about why it happens though

I'm not to worried about it either just wondering if there were more out there. Must be a manufacturing defect.

I've had my Acer a 100 for 7 months and the casing between the power button and the head phone socket behaves as if it's the power button including the, click. I'm worried there's a problem since upgrading to ICS the device will sometimes not waken from sleep with the power button nor the casing and I have to press the reset button

[Q] power button pushed in?

One day after removing my phones case, a hard rubber/plastic made with tmobile logo on it... I notice my power button is pushed in further than is normal...
so it still works but I dont know for how long in fact it seems perfectly fine except for its alittle harder to find/push it in. but Ive adapted lol
anyhow does anybody know if I can get t mobile to replace it or would it need to be an insurance claim which im not interested in btw.
I love Samsung though just check out all the crud you have to do with htc phones for rooting and changing the radio is like having an operation.
my next phone and tablet will be Samsung.
I have the same problem I actually took mine apart and found out that the actual power button was disorder and if I was you don't take it a part it will be a pain in the ass
I'll post pics in a min

[Q]ring tone volume gets adjusted when phone is fully charges

Hi guys, my wife is using the note 2 with stock rom. It has the most peculiar problem.. The ringtone volume will be adjusted lower when the battery is fully charged. I.e after the phone is plugged out from the charger fully charged, the volume gets adjusted
Anyone has this problem before? It sounds like a rom issue but maybe it's some special feature that note 2 provides..

Sounds like a perfectly acceptable answer but I'm looking for a more high tech response.. Haha..

[Q] Power button is hard to press

Is the power button hard to press for anyone else? I have to press it kind of hard and to get the correct angle at it when compared to my 2012 N7
I'm finding that to be the case as well. I'm thinking we'll get used to it as we start using the devices more.

I find that it helps if you "pinch" the side of the tablet with your thumb and forefinger. Since the button is angled back at 45 degrees, it needs to be pushed both forward (toward you) and left. Bracing your thumb on the front of the device (bezel) will help your index finger pull at this angle. But yeah even then it is finicky. Helps to make sure you push the button in the center exactly. A little too high or low and it doesn't click as well.

Yes, I don't like the power button either

The only reliable way I've found to turn it on is to turn it face down and then press the button. I only seem to have problems when starting from a shutdown, not when just waking it up.
yeah, same. i wish it were more like the old nexus 7

Same here. I put my thumb on the side of the display and my index finger on the power button and kinda push them together.
Definitely could have made it easier to press. Hate having to think about turning on my device. Oh well small issue for a great tablet.

If you hold it in landscape mode and turn it on, it seems fine. Maybe google wants people to use it in landcape (the sideways nexus logo). I have this problem too. Once kernels with double tap to wake and slide to wake, I don't think I'll ever use the power button.
Yep this is the first thing I noticed.

Pretty sure the new Nexus 7 is extremely hyped up, so a lot of people care.
what? I love my Nexus, but the power button on the old nexus was more clicky and easier

Personally, I don't find it hard to press, it's just 5mm back of where i 'expected' it to be on the vertex. More usage will fix that.
I don't have a problem pressing it. Honestly, I think it fixes all the accidental times I pressed it on my first gen.

Yes, so wait for the next batch...
I feel its positioned at weird angle .
On my s4 you have to press from side at 90 degree ' where as on nexus 7 its kind of at 45 degree may be that's why it little weird . but its not a big deal , it will take few days to get use to it .

I'm surprised there is so little complaints of this design. It is one of my biggest issues with the new N7 - you pretty much have to pickup the tablet to press the volume or power buttons when it is laying on the table.

Power and volume buttons - should I exchange?

I recently purchased a 32GB N7 and I love it.... but.... the buttons have me wondering if I should exchange it. The problem: power button requires a couple of pushes to actually trigger the function, and the volume down is nearly flush with the frame. Volume up is perfect.
Thoughts?
How are yours?

I would take back.
I don't have those issues with mine. So you should return it since it isn't normal.
