It's our possible to change what the about phone says. For example, change android version to 5.7.8. I want to make them say cool stuff. Any suggestions?

I believe changing the build.prop values might do the trick. Just make sure you do a backup first, because certain changes can cause your ROM not to boot.
Russian smashed across the interwebz from my T-Mobile Galaxy S2. Please hit thanks if I helped.

It worked, but after I restarted I got zero signal. Even after restoring freshly backuped Rom.

Hi everyone!
Please be gentle as this is new for me for a phone, not new here on xda just spent time on the Galaxy Tab 10.1 forums, just new to the T mobile SG2. I just picked this excellent phone yesterday and have already rooted it. I have the tab 10.1 running task's ROM with perhoot's kernel and flashing ROM etc is pretty straight forward since it isn't with a carrier, just WiFi. I currently have Android 2.3.6 and want to flash a ROM, I am back and forth between Bombaridier V.3.5 and CyanogenMod 7 Self-Kang #2 Alphafied 2.3.7 or any other one that someone would recommend?
Since I have never owned an Android phone only the tab 10.1 I have some question and I did search but am still confused and dont want to screw up.
1. If I am on 2.3.6 can I flash one that says 2.3.7?
2. I am on t mobile, so the one I flash needs to be in the Android development on the T Mobile forum located here?
3 any other thing I need to do so I don't lose the base band of the phone (i guess that is what they call it) as my wife has an iPhone and I keep seeing instructions for preserving base band?
3. Anything I missed that I need to know about?
All I really really appreciate the help and guidance just want to get on a custom ROM as I love it on my tab 10.1, thanks again everyone!!!

Welcome!
1. You can flash from 2.3.6 to 2.3.7 no problem.
2. Any ROM that is in this specific subforum will work. Do NOT flash anything for any other Galaxy S II, it may brick your phone.
3. Basebands are not included in roms, so you will not lose it, unless you flash a new modem.
Just remember to always perform a full wipe, I recommend the Darkside Super Wipe. You can backup your apps with Titanium Backup.
Hope this helps!

Look into TDJ's superwipe in the rom section. I do that between flashes since it keeps things clean.
An example is that before it came out, i had 1.8 gigs used on my rom partition, and after using it and installing all the same apps with data(restoring with titanium) and having the phone rebuilt to the same state with another samsung based rom, it was only 1.1 used. Lots of junk gets left behind here and there.
You can also flash AT&T Skyrocket ROMs, Kernels, Radio Modems, Recoveries, and Odin's.
Hey,
I'm trying to get this rom to work on the Telus network, but it keeps saying "No signal found for mobile network".
I have flashed the telus radio to see if that would help and it didn't work (KJ3 and TLLE4)

I have made changed to the APN setting and rebooted the phone but I'm still getting the same issue.
Any Ideas?
Try other radio

Tlle4 should work. Double check apn settings. Maybe reflash old rom and write it all down....and triple check it.
All I can think of.

Hey guys,
Thanks for your help. I finally got it working. Seems the issues was with the settings. I installed Liquid Smooth, Took screen shots of the APN settings and It turns out that the APN TYPE is what was causing the issues. I had everything else set-up properly and once I changed the APN Type from DUN to default, supl, mms, the 4G icon appeared and I was able to connect to the internet.
Thank you all for you help.
I have rooted my galaxy Note II N 7100 and installed 4.2.2 slimbean.I have succesfully installed everything. But the problem is so many feautures are missing like multiscreen, S note , voice recorder . I some how feel like going back to 4.1.2 Jelly bean.I am completely new to this. Please suggest me how to install the original Android OS on my note II N 7100.I would also like to know 'Is slimroms 4.2.2 is an official android release or a third party OS?
Waiting for some suggestions. and thanks in Advance.
As you are new to this I will answer you, all features you missed are found in Samsung based roms only, and slimrom isn't Samsung based rom it is some thing called aosp which is the pure Google os. (without any Samsung apps) so to have these apps again you have to download and install any Samsung based rom called 'Tw' Touch Wizard roms, but please read before you do any thing to be sure not to do any thing wrong

It's easy to go back. Download your original firmware from sammobile.com and flash it using Odin. Extensive guides are available both on xda and all over the Internet. Google is your friend.

Saw that some user got the leaked 4.3 ROM for the International Galaxy Note 2. How long will it be, before someone ports it to the AT&T Galaxy note 2?

This question has been asked numerous times already. The kernels between the two devices are different (so porting is theoretically impossible at this point).
To answer your question, porting will be done once Samsung (AT&T) leaks 4.3 for the i7105 or i317.
It is't as simple as swapping out or ignoring the difference in modems. The best you can do for now is to extract the APK files for some apps from a 4.3 system dump (but some may have 4.3 dependencies hence they may force close or result in a bootloop.
