[Q] Problems after rooting my galaxy note II - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have rooted my galaxy Note II N 7100 and installed 4.2.2 slimbean.I have succesfully installed everything. But the problem is so many feautures are missing like multiscreen, S note , voice recorder . I some how feel like going back to 4.1.2 Jelly bean.I am completely new to this. Please suggest me how to install the original Android OS on my note II N 7100.I would also like to know 'Is slimroms 4.2.2 is an official android release or a third party OS?
Waiting for some suggestions. and thanks in Advance.

As you are new to this I will answer you, all features you missed are found in Samsung based roms only, and slimrom isn't Samsung based rom it is some thing called aosp which is the pure Google os. (without any Samsung apps) so to have these apps again you have to download and install any Samsung based rom called 'Tw' Touch Wizard roms, but please read before you do any thing to be sure not to do any thing wrong

It's easy to go back. Download your original firmware from sammobile.com and flash it using Odin. Extensive guides are available both on xda and all over the Internet. Google is your friend.

Stock Jelly Bean on S III

My wife and I just moved to T-Mobile in the US. I got a Nexus 4 phone and my wife got the Galaxy S III. However, the UI on the S3 really sucks and the UI on the Nexus 4 is great. Is there a ROM available for the S3 that is just like the Nexus 4 aka Jelly Bean? If I do install a ROM what is the down side?
I do not know because I don't have a nexus but I would guess the UI you like is based on AOSP (Android Open Source) The most poplar rom that is based on AOSP is cyanogenmod (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1778217). The stock UI on the Galaxy S3 is called TouchWiz.
The downside? As with flashing any custom ROM your warranty is now void. There are ways of resetting your "Flash counter" (Triangle Away) but that is not guaranteed. CM is community supported and made by extremely talented developers but it is not perfect. Touchwiz is supposed to "always work" while CM has bugs.
Personally I really like TouchWiz but I also like CM which is why I generally switch between them daily.
Here are the general steps to flashing a custom ROM.
0. Read. Seriously. Read the guides and ensure that you know what you are doing the risks and what to do if something goes wrong.
1. Root phone. To Root I would suggest CF-Autoroot (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1963806).
2. Install custom recovery. For recovery I would suggest goo.im which installs TWRP (install goo.im from Play Store and hit install open recovery AFTER root)
3. Figure out what ROM you want and carefully read its installation instructions (usually simply a wipe and then flash AOSP ROM + GAPPS)
Hope this helps. Hit the thanks button if it did so I can get internet points.

I know people who have used triangle away and odined to stock and sent it in for replacement. So that's no worry.
Also yeah, what the guy said above me. Sounds like you want cyanogenmod. And again like the guy above me, I love the UI of Samsung's touchwiz

Very clear! now, can you do this on a mac?
Thoughts on doing this on a mac?
I'm running SGH-t999 on tmobile, version 4.1.1.
Everything I've found seems like its for the last version 4.0.1, I'm willing to wait.
Also what about doing all of this on parallels? Is it crazy to do this in windows on a macbook air?
Thanks!

[Q] new note 2 owner, confused... :S

ok, so im not new to android mods, rom flashing, kernel flashing or any of that jazz...
ive had many android devices over the years and will continue to have more as long as android doesnt flop.. but i doubt that happening
my issue is this, i have a bone stock TW rooted i317m on 4.1.2, it has been unlocked using the perso sha method, and has been modified to work with wind mobile in ontario via the .qcn file flash method... the device is operating just fine, no problems...
what i want from this device is customization and the question im asking hopefully will be answered with respect and NO newb bashing or ignorance
this is my first note based device... i fell in love with all the TW features that relate to the s-pen and best photo/best face.. i want to install custom rom, and kernel, but im afraid im going to lose all the feature that i bought the note for...
i know about the apps "CM S-Pen detection add-on" & "S-Pen Helper"
but i dont want to lose most importantly the camera features, and id like to still be able to use s-note and such, but im not sure if this is possible unless using a TW stock rom
any ideas??
there are tw based roms like clean rom, best international (using this one)
if you flash a aosp rom all the tw stuff is gone!
I personally dont use half the tw stuff so i might flash an aosp rom soon just for fun. But I have a galaxy nexus to play around with as well
ok so i flashed clean rom,
now my next question
is there a sphere mode camera mod available,
i really miss this from my galaxy nexus when it was running PA3+, i busted the lcd and glass,
got my note 2 now, and would love to see this come to it

Clean rom is real good if you just want a debloated version of stock. Real fast and stable. It was my daily driver for a while.
I am really into all the customization so I am running JEDI and NOVELLA now. Both are TW based and have a ton of MODs out for it.
As for the camera 4.2 is good too

[Q] What is a suitable ROM for Galaxy Fame S6810p?

Hello,
after having had a HTC Desire HD I have upgraded (actually downgraded) to a Samsung Galaxy Fame S6810p.
However, as I am not very satisfied with TouchWiz and the bloatware on the phone I would like to flash a 'vanilla' ROM on the device, a task which is quite new for me, but something I would like to learn.
Having read myself into ROM Managers, Goo Managers, etc. I have not been able to find any ROM suitable for the S6810p. Therefore here few basic questions before I continue reading on:
- can I only used ROMs that have been adapted to my phone?
- Is there a vanilla ROM for my phone (Samsung Galaxy Fame s6810p)
- and if not, how much is the effort to port one to my phone?
I had used the search function looking for entries for Galaxy Fame etc and have not found anything (apart from rooting the phone)
Thanks

1st yes you can only use a rom adapted to your phone
2nd vanilla rom? I don't think there is any custom rom for this model
3rd you have to try anyway first find a phone that suits your hardware specification and port a rom from that device
nobody knows a suitable rom for this device?

Did you try this to see if it will work?
So...
So has anyone found a CWM for this phone yet? It's driving me crazy! I'm starting to regret buying this phone because of this. How is it that nobody has done a port yet? The phone has been out for more than a year.
I'm wondering what else will pop up for this.

I'm in the same situation of many other users: this phone is really slow with the stock rom after some months of medium usage. I'm not a developer, I really don't know hot to create a new rom, but I can use my Galaxy Fame as a tester for a great new rom made in xda :good:
A pure Android experience like Cyanogenmod should be very useful for this phone, it could be much more light and smooth than the stock rom.
Many others phone (for example Galaxy W, Galaxy S Plus...) has some good roms that are CM based. It's a pity that Galaxy Fame hasn't any specific section on this incredible Forum I'm sure that many people will find interesting and useful a Galxy Fame Section with Android Development, Q&A, ecc...
Once you root the phone you can at least disable/freeze some of the bloatware that comes with the phone using Titanium Backup Pro, but yes, a clean custom ROM would make a world of difference and hopefully help with the freez-ups.
Also an overclock/undervolt kernel would be useful.
anyone tried the cwm posted?
CLOCK WORK MOD, or CWM, is not a rom, so does not count, i also am regreting buying this phone for the lack of custom roms..........gues we can't have anything, and have to move along to other devices.

[Q] Flashing official 4.1.2 onto i8150T

Okay so at the moment i have the 4.1.2 Xperian UI ROM which is based off arco's CM10 installed on my gt-i8150t. I've been using custom roms since samsung's official 2.3.6 gingerbread rom, so i've never had samsung's 4.1.2 installed. However I feel like i want to install it right now (the 4.1.2 XXAMH2), but the only problem is it is for the I8150 and not the I8150T. Will this cause any issues with basebands or bricking, or will it just flash as usual (the only difference in the "T" model is the network band it uses).
Thanks in advance
Samsung stopped supporting the W at 2.3.6......so if you've found a 4.x.x rom....it ain't official....it's a custom rom.......

Bro. Its not new. You're flashing the wrong thing. XXAMH2 is for Galaxy Win, not Galaxy W. There have been plentiful rumors of this, but its not true. Samsung (being the arses that they are) ditched this phone and its community. XXAMH2 is for I8552, not I8150.

How to install stock android rom (jellybean 4.2) on galaxy note 2 running custom rom?

My phone was working fine before but after updating to official KitKat 4.4, phone started giving trouble like hanging problem, camera problem etc. So, I rooted my phone and installed custom rom - AllianceRom_N7100 on my samsung galaxy note 2. But i'm having trouble with this custom rom as well it is not working fine.
I just want to install stock google rom Jelly bean 4.2 on my note 2 because that was the most stable rom running without any trouble. I have read threads but i haven't found solution for myself yet. Can anyone please guide me how to do the same? Thanks in advance
Hi got the same problem before.. even brick my phone.. fortunately there is sammobile and download the stock rim plus odin then problem solved. . Just register to sammobile anyways it's free.. hope this helps
