Swype suddenly disappeared from the G.Note2 stock Samsung keyboard - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm habituated using Swype and suddenly I noticed that Swype available as option on the default stock Rom keyboard has now disappeared. I've not rooted my phone not have installed any custom Rom...but on default stock Rom and fail to understand how this happened. Has any body else noticed this or facing this.?

Also happend to me don't know why.. How can we bring it back?

If you are using light flow or any app requiring Accessibility, swiping will be disabled.

Just checking, you've tried restarting or swapping keyboards and then swapping back to the stock keyboard? And if all else fails, maybe a good old backup & reset?

Swype problem

Does anyone else have a problem with Swype? I have a constant problem with it. I uninstall and reinstall fresh and then it just stops working whenever I receive a message. I'm on aokp b28 and have tried a few rooms and this keeps on happening does anyone have an idea? Nothing comes up at all when I try and swype either no blue box bouncing around the keyboard or anything. Its like the screen is dead lol. Then I switch to the android keyboard and it works fine please help

Check your PM
Sounds to me like the one you are using has run out of time. Grab the newest one grab the website. Beta.Swype.com I think.

I'm using the first beta of the ICS compatible version on stock non-rooted yakjuux 4.0.1 and do not have any Swype issues.
I use go keyboard and it has eagle integrated. Give that a shot it's free on the market.

No Swype issues here on the latest beta with stock 4.0.2.

I've never even heard of it, I thought you meant Skype!
how did you guys get the official swype beta with higher resolution? i downloaded the installer from swype email and it installed but the resolution is the same making the keyboard tiny. the installer downloaded version 3.26.92.38303.
Using latest Swype without problems.
Could your problem be because your custom ROM reports different resolution?

i think i figured out why the swype keyboard is small for me, it was the navigation bar or lack of it. when i set the nav bar back swype installed fine and looked normal but when got rid of it again swype keyboard went back to the smaller size. anyone have the official swype working without the nav bar?

I run it without nav bar, in tablet mode at 192dpi. I did have to install at 320 though.

My Swype has always worked just fine for me except that it lags big time. If I send a text and hit the home button the messaging app will close immediately but the Swype keyboard will lag and stay up on the home screen for a second. It drives me absolutely crazy because this phone is usually very smooth for me except for Swype. Does this happen to everyone else or am I just missing a setting that could fix this?

I flashed the latest CM9 nightly to give it a try and I have to say that all the lag issues I was having with swype are completely gone. I dont know if it is from the 4.04 update or AOKP just lags with swype but it runs so much smoother in CM9.

Samsung keyboard auto defaults every restart

Just what the title says, every restart it defaults to samsung keyboard.. gets annoying sometimes, even though I barely restart my phone

If you are rooted, freeze via titanium backup.

I have a similar problem regarding the screen mode. I have to tap Save in order for my Natural settings to be enabled again. Like you said I barely restart my phone but it's kind of weird.

Does this mean for me too. Though I didn't notice it until I dirty flashed a ROM over stock.
But I may just have never restarted prior to the flash, so I can't be sure it's related.
This is a know issue with JB 4.1.1 and was corrected with JB 4.1.2 update. We now just have to wait till AT&T pushes it to us.
I've only noticed the keyboard issue on the stock ATT rom. I've been on the tmobile rom for 2 days and haven't noticed a keyboard issue at all.

Keyboard resets to stock keyboard after reboot.

I have an issue with my s3. Everytime I reboot my phone the keyboard that I have goes back to stock swype keyboard.. I have a purchased version of smart keyboard pro.. it it annoys me to have to go back to settings and have to change it all over again.
I know its not a flaw with smart keyboard pro.. it never gave me that problem with my other phones..
Does anyone know how to fix it?

I figured out a temp fix by freezing the stock "samsung Keyboard" with Titanium backup pro & selecting Siftkey keyboard in regular settings.

I think it's just part of JB kinda like the annoying input method on the notification every time you type. Happens on stock too just try to not reboot so much or freeze keyboard like other dude stated

When I was on the stock ROM, I also solved this by freezing the stock keyboard.
I found on Frosty JB (stock rooted, debloated ROM) that it doesn't reset like stock does.
It's little stuff like this where rooting shows its strength and usefulness.

I've had this happen since the JB update, too. I think it's a "feature" that requires a work-around like the freezing of the stock keyboard like mentioned.

Swype keyboard rests

I've tried to use Swype Keyboard several times but after several minutes it always defaults back to the stock Samsung keyboard.
Is anyone else experiencing this issue? And is there a fix for this?
Nexus ONE
I had the same issue so I froze the Samsung keyboard but realized that greenify was hibernating the Swype keyboard which might have been causing the issue.
