I was wondering if it's at all possible to remove Odin Mode from my phone. I've been researching a good bit and haven't found anything. I've also searched here and other forums for anything related and haven't found anything, either.

Yes flash a ROM meant for another device. That will remove Odin mode and everything else. You will have the shiniest brick available. But it won't have Odin mode!

Good advice. But you forgot to mention the need for a complete wipe prior to flashing. Let's do things properly.

Yikes...you mean download mode?
The answer would be no...and the question would be why on earth would you want to?

Coming from a device that utilized fastboot, I too wished this were possible. However, its never going to happen
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda premium
I came from a device that utilized fastboot as well and I was used to it so I understand where you are coming from. Unfortunately, there's nothing you can do about it.
I had a device with fast boot and I have no idea where he is coming from. Removing download mode won't do anything to benefit performance. You can't add fast boot to a Samsung device..at least that i am aware of. Download mode is just the way things are done in these parts. Removing it would only remove a potential lifeline when things get scary with soft brick. It would also remove the ability to root. If you want fast boot back, you will have to go back to a device that utilizes it.

I guess I worded it wrong. Before I even flashed a ROM, my phone didn't say Odin Mode at the very top of the download mode screen. I forget what it said, honestly, but I'm asking if it's possible to restore my phone to it's original state before I used Odin to root and mod it.

So you want to go back to full stock with no root.

Flash counter wipe it

I did. It's on stock ROM and kernel, flash counter reset, and unrooted. It just bothers me that the download screen still says odin mode instead of what it used to.

Are you sure there isn't a way to disable /make unusable Download-mode/Odin-mode without breaking the integrity of the sbl?

Hmm, I just have an old personal custom kernel/rom on my old phone, I no longer use/hack it. It's totally useless, but I just want to keep my visual change forever (print my name at the boot, and some random other useless thing like that, it's juste for fun, somes little patch I make when I discovered the kernel), It is also to learn something new about the sbl-download mode, because I don't really know how it works, and I haven't found any documentations about this.
tl:dr : for fun, discover something new.
Thanks for any idea, or tips.
There is no way to remove download/Odin mode. To attempt to do this is absolutely retarded. I am now reporting this thread to stop the insanity. Do Not private message me again about this subject either.

There is no way, nor is there any need, to 'remove Odin Mode'.

So does anyone know the purpose/anything useful you can do in this mode?

Yeah ive only heard of safe mode on the ipod when you mess **** up with jailbreaking! I would really like to know what you did and what rom/ kernel your running too... Thanks man
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
Safe mode is entered by holding down menu button during boot. Its only use is a minimal boot with only core android apps running. I used to use it as a vzw tech agent to troubleshoot android phones. You can't do anything special in it.

thanks lafronz I didnt even know how i got in to it.
I was on SRF 1.2, rebooted my phone and it wouldnt pass the samsung logo. Odin'd back to ec05 and the first boot was in safe mode.

It's weird...whenever I try to do any of those things, the screen will turn on for a moment [the backlight, no logo or anything comes up] and then after about a second immediately turns off....I tried injecting a rooted version of the stock rom with Odin into my phone, but I kept getting strange error messages like TouchWiz isn't working and some other android process isn't working.
[That didn't work, so I decided to try a different method. This is where I ****ed up, because I forgot to go back to stock rom...]
Anyways, after that, I tried to use the SGS3 Toolkit [if you search sgs3 toolkit xda, it'll come up] and I tried to use that to root. I went to "rooting options" and i selected option number 3, the all in one. I got to the point where it mentions your phone must be in USB debugging, and now nothing comes up when I try to start the phone..but it vibrates whenever I hold the power button long enough [as if it was working normally]. I can't get into download mode right now, either...
How do I reverse this and go back to stock? Please help...thank you so much.

I'm basing this answer based on how I understood what you said...
But, if you're already rooted, then hopefully you've made a backup before installing another ROM. If you have a backup, then put into recovery and backup.
I wasn't already rooted, I was trying to root it. I can't get into recovery.

Plug it into the computer and see if anything shows in device manager.
I hate to say though, I think you may be bricked....
Unless anyone else can think of something to try?

Also you can try safe mode. Doubt it'll work but I just learned how to do it so thought id suggest. Hold volume down + power.

Have you plugged into the computer and checked device manager yet? What does it say?
I think if it says something like qhsusb that means its bricked.
I'm hoping someone can verify that though since I'm going by memory.

Well, I sent it back to T-Mobile and said hey it doesn't work. Let's see if they say anything about it. They sent me a new one, though
I'm having exactly the same problem with my T-Mobile Galaxy SII T989 running Open Kang AOKP JB Jelly Bean. After reading this thread, and another related thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1679492), my less than scientific observation is that pressing/massaging/jiggling the power button seems to bring the device back to life. At least until it flakes out again. The posts in this thread were a big help. I was going to ditch the ROM, which would have been a shame. Thanks.
I am a user from China,Brushed rom lock screen disappears, the standby interface yellow text, press and hold the power button is no longer prompted to shutdown or restart, will directly turn off the phone.
Just enter 1,5 dialing panel, the test mode will enter the following figure, say, 1.5 at the beginning of the number can not dial.
Road is not anyone who can help me solve this problem? THx!
You have to repartition the phone using a full stock tar. T3 prohect and I had this problem. He probabaly still has the file that you need to flash in odin.

Best thing to do
I suggest u two things to do :
1,choose a right and stable rom for your Note.
2,run a super wipe before you flash a new rom.
3,if you are a fresh man here ,why not try miui first, the instruction is written in Chinese at list,

I put original firmware back on my phone and used Triangle Away. My count was reset to zero and it says original Samsung. Phone works great again after rough few weeks. However it still says "System Status:Custom" Is there a way now to change this back to normal in case I need warranty service? Thank you.

It doesn't matter. But if your phone is already on you should just do out through settings. You haven't rooted again right.
Here's the thread where I got it from and personally tried myself. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2136921

Have not rooted again. Thanks
Go into phone official recovery by power, home, and lower volume key together and wipe cache (and data too I think). It will clean out custom recovery footprint. (Hint: you have to be unrooted to go in official recovery). Hope that helps.

I've also done just by factoryv reset through phone settings. Either way works. As long as toy followed the instructions in the link I posted.

So recently i decided to root my note 8.0 N5110. I put it in download mode and plugged it in thinking I already installed the drivers but i hadn't and the screen went black. I can get it to boot and hear the animation but screen remains black. It will also go into download mode and i reflashed the stock ROM with Odin hoping that would fix the issue but no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Can you get into recovery mode?
If so, try to do a data/factory reset and see if that helps

If you forget to enable debug mode and set USB debugging to enable in settings, there is no way you are able to flash properly.
You should have used Saferoot.zip. As it is the only rooter that installs the root files, so your not flashing a root over your stock ROM.
There should be a sticky about flashing using safe root here, but it seems like nobody is concerned about newbies getting in trouble with flashing.
I used Chainfire's auto root without any problems found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2291839

I don't see either but.I get the blue bar when I hook up Odin.
What version of Odin are you using?
And I hate to say this but having a blue bar doesn't necessarily mean you are in download mode, I just plugged in my Note while it was "just" on and I have a blue bar saying COM blabla.
Now it almost looks to me that your screen or digitizer might be broken
