Ok...I screwed up here and need a little direction
I installed a rooted stock image to my phone, then installed CWM and then stupidly installed a custom rom called omega. Unfortunately that was for the I9300 version and I have a SGH-I747M
So now my phone is unresponsive, meaning it will not turn on using any button combo. Took out the battery and let it sit for awhile and and then tried button combo's again and still nothing.
The only sign of life I have right now is my computer detects it when I plug and unplug the usb cord and if I leave my battery out and plug in the usb cord I get a red light in the top left corner. Nothing on the screen though to indicate charging or anything.
I have gathered I have a hard bricked phone on my hands.
Now what are my options? I read about a USB jig as well as a jtag fix so please tell me more about these and if they are my only option please. I wouldn't mind a referral to someone within Canada that fixes them for a decent price.
I'm pretty sure USB jig is your only fix. Where in Canada are you?

Hard brick.
Highly doubt a USB Jig will fix that.
You'll need to JTAG. There are folks on eBay who offer the service for $30+.
I am in Halifax, N.S. . I have a friend that has some equipment that might do it but since I am not sure exactly what equipment that is, I cannot be sure he can do it. I will check out ebay but do you know of a solid jtag tutorial for this that I can show him?
Is there anything besides RIFF equipment that can do this? Like I said my friend does have some special equipment but I highly doubt he has a specific machine like the RIFF jtag device.

This will not work for me. My only option it seems is a jtag fix.
What I am still looking for is if it is possible to use hardware typically used to jtag xbox 360's to re-flash this phone. I have a tech savvy friend that has this type of equipment that can do it for me locally but I need instructions to give him. Can someone point me to directions that don't just use the RIFF equipment?

Something like that...but I'm dealing with it well. I'm usually pretty good at following instructions but this time I just got tired and careless.

...sounds like JTAG or bust...
Though there is some Epic voodoo to try like taking the battery out for an hour or two and popping it back in...I don't know WTF that could do, but, I've heard about it on more than one occasion and those few guys swore by it....
...good luck.

JTAG
what is JTAG? how does it work? could someone send me something with all the info
try taking the battery out for an hour or so.. the pressing the volume button for about 15 secs to discharge everything, then plug it in without the battery and try to goto download mode..
Also, did you try the jig prior to this issue? It's rare, but you could have a faulty jig. I would try Chris's recommendation and if that doesn't work, you could pick up another jig before moving on to jtag.

I am in trouble about battery.
Repeating "Charging" and "Discharging" without plug-in.
It is the main reason why it is so fast to be out of battery.
My battery sensor is something wrong.
Please tell me how to make my galaxy nexus recognize ALWAYS discharging.
Even if it is pug-in, it is ok that it recognizes "discharging".
help me.
Factory reset or get a new phone
If you are rooted, I would consider trying to rest your battery stats. There are several apps for this, and you can also do it in cwm

You need a new USB-board. Mine was not repairable, I had got some water in my usb-port. Not covered by warranty off course. A repair would cost me 150-200 Euro.
So I bought a new board online and exchanged it myself. Cost: 35 Euro. But you could most likely find it cheaper. Took me 15 minutes to fix.

Same thing happened to me. No water damage, no dirt, no filth, never been dropped. I take exceptional care of my electronics, I'm pretty ocd actually. I had to send it to Samsung for warranty because I didnt know the cause. And to answer your question, yes that's why your battery is draining.

Thank you very much
Thank you very much.
I never know that so many people are in same trouble.
Then now I do is Factory Reset.
I think it was caused by water.
It flowed into mine.
Second, I will buy the repair parts.
Thank you very much.

Yea, heat gun it and solder a new one on.
DON'T stick anything in, I repeat, DON'T stick anything in that hole, i know it's tempting to fulfill your sexual urges, but please DON'T, you won't like it.

I've been searching over the web for a galaxy nexus antenna connecting port(not sure how you should call it) and I can't find a site where I can buy a replacement part...
Do you know where I can find one?
Greetings,

So i'm looking at this ad from a kid who wants to sell his One X right. The only problem is, it is not recognized by computers anymore but it can be charged. He clearly says the usb won't work because he rooted it, now surely this can be fixed. I'm thinking of buying it and of course repairing it.
Now my question is, what's the worst that could have happened to the One x that makes the usb unusable?(sofware wise of course)
here's a photo of the bootloader

Is this an actual final state picture of the phone ? It says fastboot usb in red text ! That's a good thing. I think its a pc driver problem. Fastboot usb is only active when the phone is recognized by the pc.

I actually already contacted the guy and I hope this One x is going to be mine!:good:
On the other hand maybe he was referring to internal storage? I really want more info out of this guy but on the other hand I dont want him to revoke his offer because maybe he'll think he can repair it himself haha
I personally think its a driver issue. Can be a pain in the ass. But once correct installed it will be fine. Dont hold me responsible
Cheers and welcome to the club

Haha of course I dont hold you responsible, my guess on worst case scenario is a usb connector swap, also not sure if this photo was taken in its final state. Anyway I can't get this offer get away, the price is ridiculous

Little update, decided to call him and he said someone is coming over tomorrow night to check the phone out, also that someone is having a one-hour drive to get this phone! Pretty sure this offer slipped through my fingers damnit
That's a shame.....
All the best.
Hey all, Search is not working for me, and I am in need of some help. Been using this Epic Touch for 2 years, but running custom ROMS for over a year.
I installed CM 10.1 official on my phone in September, and have had no issues since... Until this week.
I had had occasional reboots, but had one today, where the reboot then froze on the Samsung GSII logo. From what I know now (after googling), this is a soft brick. Not sure if i did something wrong by doing this, but just thinking it was a random reboot and brief issue, I rebooted again by holding power key...
This time, only the Blue LED comes on (steady), and the screen is completely black.
Again, I wasn't doing ANYTHING at the time this happened. Was not installing a ROM, was just charging phone when it went into the random reboot.
Is there anything I can do? I have insurance, but just ordered a LG G2 upgrade, so am only weeks away from a new phone. Don't want to pay the deductible for a phone i'll only have 2 weeks.
Thanks so much, guys.
Hmm, on the TEP site to even process a claim, only options are Water Damage, Physical Damage, Lost, Stolen.
So I guess I may have another option due to software failure? I'll head into a Sprint store and see what I can do.
So you have tried pulling the battery and going into recovery or download mode and flashing a new ROM?

Couldn't get to recovery. Just black screen. Seemed to be a complete brick, probably emmc.
I took it to a sprint store and they replaced it, free of charge, saying the board was completely gone.

Yeah, they actually had an E4GT in the store to give me, so i barely waited 30 minutes.
I'm just gonna leave it stock for now, until I get my G2.
Just very weird that I hadn't flashed anything in weeks (almost 2 months), and it crapped out.
