[App]Google Wallet Installer - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

Google Wallet Installer for Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, and US Cellular Samsung Galaxy S3.
Requires ROOT, an UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER, and BUSYBOX!(A deodexed ROM is just recommended)
My newest project, RemoteFlash, was just released! Take a look and give it a try!
Wallet Installer Is Now Available For Free To All Supported Carrier Models On XDA! (Donations Appreciated)
My application, "Wallet Installer", will install Google Wallet on almost any US based Samsung Galaxy S3. It simply edits your build.prop and then places the correct modifications into your system. It downloads all the files from my personal server, which is pretty quick. Just select the appropriate Rom type: AOSP, JB Touchwiz, or ICS TouchWiz, and then your carrier: Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, or US Cellular. I also added a restore option for your build.prop, so you can restore it after you setup Google Wallet. Hopefully this helps you out and makes the process easier!
Wallet Installer has been updated on the server side. The credit goes to Paul Obrien for the new version! To install it, simply reset Google Wallet, delete it, and then rerun Wallet Installer! Make sure to also have BusyBox installed/updated!
Please donate if my work helps you : )
V3: No Recovery/More Stable
Original Thread: Here
And as always: I take no responsibility for bricked devices, whether a soft brick or a full on brand new coffee coaster.

It does re-write your recovery, but it appears to have worked perfectly. The install part was actually pretty seamless. But I would suggest some clarification on the play store about everything with the recovery. Well worth $2. Thanks.

It does. Backing up the current recovery is a very possible future update though. I just got the other carriers supported, so that wasn't my main concern at the time. You can simply flash back over it with whatever recovery you prefer.

Forgive my ignorance, but once you root your GS3, doesn't that automatically unlock your bootloader? If not, then how do you unlock it on a Tmous Gs3?

I use a Verizon S3, so I don't know the specifics of your methods to root/unlock. The VZW S3 had a locked bootloader at first, but the dev community managed to unlock it. You'll have to ask around your device forums for an answer.

Just a note on this app. Google Play now recognizes my phone as a Galaxy Nexus. May not be a huge deal, but things like TeamViewer quick support won't work because the build.prop is telling it I have a nexus.

That's the point of the restore build.prop option. As long as you have your cards already setup in wallet, you can restore it and your device will be registered as an S3, and Wallet will still work.

Hi I'm about to buy this app and use it to install wallets. I understand that it will flash a new recovery an that I can just flash my old one back. I also understand that I need to restore my build prop afterwards. My question is that once I hopefully get this working what if I wanted to flash another mod or rom? Could I still do that? I remember reading about the secure element breaking and not being able to?

I have zero bloat on my phone. I got mine about 2 weeks ago it is a development version and has the development menu in settings. I unlocked my botloader and rooted using super boot v2 and installed the GSM clockwork, yes GSM clockwork works fully you just need to delete the recovery from boot.p file from system. If you dont every time you want to enter cwm you have to re install it with rom manager. I moved it to the cwm folder in SD card. Now cwm works flawlessly and I was able to make a full nandroid. I gave mike my boot image and system image he is working on building a rom now for LTE models since that's what I have. I will be testing the LTE version for him when he pms it to me.
If you have any other questions feel free to ask I don't mind.

Google Wallet Update

does it not work on AT&T?
I downloaded the app on my phone and tried to set it up, but it says "it isnt available on my network or device" I have an AT&T galaxy s3. any idea whats going on? I thought with the new update that it was to be available to most all credit cards and then NFC capable phones?
Simple answer. No not on 100% stock it will however work on cm9/cm10.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda premium
Google Wallet is blocked by default on AT&T. You're going to have to use the old version of Google Wallet if you want it to work as our amazing devs haven't had a chance to patch the new version yet.
You'll have to wait for a hacked version of the new wallet.apk. The one you see floating around has been modified to work with with a build.prop edit. As of now, the newest version (august 1) has not been modded. Also, ATT still won't let us use it, hence the error you see when opening the stock .apk.

[Q] Problem with Custom Rom

Hi so this is my first thread. So I recently routed my gs3 with no problem, and I have CWM recovery v6. I tried to use the euroskank cm10 mod from the ROM manager app. Everything ran okay, but the one problem I'm having is the android keyboard stops working. I couldnt set anything up,so I had to restore to the stock ROM. Can anyone help me fix this? Thank you. Also, just to kill to birds with one stone, what is the best modem for the sprint gs3? Thanks a bunch!
Might just be a problem with the rom, did you read the bugs? Or did you clear all data before flashing?

That just sounds like a bug in the rom
Suppose so, a friend of mine can use the ROM with his GS3, but he has ATT. Maybe that's why his works

Wait, is the ROM in question even meant for the Sprint GS3? If not that could be a huge problem. Never ever flash a ROM from another carrier.
The ROM manager app gives me a selection of phones to flash CWM recovery with, and I chose the sprint GS3.

If your friend is running it on ATT, I would a assume that you're running 2 different ports of the same ROM. In that case each can have their own bugs and quarks.
And mine apparently won't let me use a keyboard, which makes it pointless anyway. So I should just find another rom specific to the sprint GS3. Know of any that I should look into?

Stock random reboots

Hello everyone. My wife has a newly purchased S4 from Tmobile. We rooted it right away and installed TWRP. Everything else is stock. Even kept the bloatware hanging around... She has had some random reboots from time to time not often but like 3-4 times since she has had the phone. Google searches turn up random bits of info so I thought I'd ask the experts here at good olé XDA. I've seen some advice to factory reset but wouldn't that lose root? Also some say it could be SD card related.. There is no common theme to it happening.. I guess we could return it. I was hoping to avoid that though... Any thoughts? Thanks for any help!
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
Yes it will lose root but it's better than the phone rebooting itself alot so if it still does it then try to flash a rom and if it still does it it might be the phone then
Sent from my SGH-M919 using xda premium
Factory reset won't actually loose root. Root stuff is stored in the system while factory resetting wipes the user's data. Factory reset through TWRP would be my first recommendation

What did she recently install? if anything. Some apps will cause random reboots. And the answers here are correct, you will not lose root doing a factory reset.

CF-Auto Root literally takes about 25 seconds to root.

You're probably getting reboots because of the method you used to root.
I was getting tons of problems with my phone because the way I previously rooted the device.
I used this way and I get absolutely no more problems.
Now, after you root with the above method, you will have to install a custom recovery (I recommend TWRP).
Do that through goomanager.
(Search goomanager in app store, install, open, hit menu, then hit "install custom recovery.)
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info. She appears to be on an MDL baseband. Would it work with that? I forget exactly which thread I used to root it.. I used Odin and some zip files with TWRP and it seems like we had to do something with the bootloader... This was a few weeks ago.
And a follow up question. How would the rooting method effect the stability of the device, Causing RR added such?

Ah yes the TWRP root method.
That's the faulty method that is causing problems.
Once you odin to stock by following the steps in the thread above, everything will be taken off the phone, it will absolutely work with that baseband, yes.
Use the CF Autoroot method in the video I posted above and follow the steps i explained about goomanager.
You will love being rooted with TWRP from goomanager. You will then be able to flash custom roms which will make the phone a lot speedier and more responsive. In most cases, better battery life also.
(I am on the Darthstalker rom and it is super fast!)

Well great thanks! I will do this. We will most likely not flash a custom rom for her purposes. If I root per the method above would it be necessary to install TWRP via Goo? If we're not going to be flashing mods and roms to her phone I'm not sure what we would use it for...

Well great thanks! I will do this. We will most likely not flash a custom rom for her purposes. If I root per the method above would it be necessary to install TWRP via Goo? If we're not going to be flashing mods and roms to her phone I'm not sure what we would use it for...

No, it is NOT necessary to install TWRP, you can have the rooted device with the stock recovery on it with no problems .

Few questions about wife's sph-710

I have a few quick questions on this device, I personally deal strictly with htc devices but my wife loves this phone.
Ok a little background.
The phone has been flashed to boost. And is on stock Sprint gb27 jb, unrooted.
Where is a good thread to get this rooted? and after the recovery gets installed being it's flashed to boost anything I should not flash? Thanks guys

Check out rwilcows repository it contains everything you will need to flash.
If you flash from Odin the rooted same build you won't need to factory reset.

Dont take this wrong way but u sound a little confused
But don't worry. I think u need to search for one click odin on here and also search on YouTube for Qbking77.Read op=opening page. Read until u fully understand unless u want your phone to be useless.

Not taken wrong at all. I've actually been modding phones since the g1 dream days and still very active on the HTC one xl forum just havent messed with a Samsung since the boost galaxy prevail. And the read fully part you mentioned... Read some of my posts from the one xl q n a forum.. I just wanted a push in the right direction. Main concern is the rom install. Will it mess with anything that's been flashed to convert to boost? Prl?

Here's qbking's video on how to root on jb:
http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Rnk617FffXY&desktop_uri=/watch?v=Rnk617FffXY
And here's everything you need from rwilco12:
http://www.rwilco12.com/Files/Devic...Sprint) (SPH-D710)/Tutorials/SPHD710-Root.php
Just make sure you read, read, read. And your prl, being on Boost, will not change. And as long as you have a jb modem(gb27, gb28, or gc01), you'll have data. But if you flash a Sprint rom you'll have to research how to change mmsc in order to send mms. To avoid that, if your wife wants stock, flash a GC01(Boost) rom after you root. Here's mine, deodexed, debloated, and since it's stock, you can build it up to your wife's liking. Good luck, happy flashing:thumbup:

By the way, if you flashed the phone to Boost you're better off just keeping a stock Boost ROM handy.
That way you're not having to mod the MMS settings to get it to work right.
From there you can pick up a custom kernel/recovery and flash away.
(I personally recommend mine but there are others to choose from...)
Welcome and enjoy!

Garywnn is a very busy man, so I'll help him out. Here's the link to his rom:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2216606
His is purely stock, smooth as glass.
Here's my build, deodexed and debloated, stock, if you want variety:

Good luck, and enjoy! :thumbup::beer:
