does it not work on AT&T?
I downloaded the app on my phone and tried to set it up, but it says "it isnt available on my network or device" I have an AT&T galaxy s3. any idea whats going on? I thought with the new update that it was to be available to most all credit cards and then NFC capable phones?
Simple answer. No not on 100% stock it will however work on cm9/cm10.

Google Wallet is blocked by default on AT&T. You're going to have to use the old version of Google Wallet if you want it to work as our amazing devs haven't had a chance to patch the new version yet.
You'll have to wait for a hacked version of the new wallet.apk. The one you see floating around has been modified to work with with a build.prop edit. As of now, the newest version (august 1) has not been modded. Also, ATT still won't let us use it, hence the error you see when opening the stock .apk.

why does at&t block it? what do they gain from blocking it? just don't see the point.
Same issue here, "Not available for your device or mobile network". Was wondering the same thing, why does AT&T block the use of Google Wallet?

Any one been able to get google wallet to work on SGS3 T-mobile?
I have tried using the re-packed App form Paul O'brien that doesn't stop when rooted, but I can only go as far as "activating Acct"
HOX had same issue but they were able to tweak the build.prop to make it think it was an SGS3 International version by changing:
ro.product.model to htc_jewel in 2 places
ro.product.device to htc_jewel in 1 place
Any ideas how we can make Google wallet think ours is an international version?
bump, don't mean to be a [email protected]#k but i just think we can get this working with the help of someone that fully understands build.prop

Seriously..for the life of me I can't figure out how this question still comes up. We've had leak after leak and in every thread for every rom this is asked dozens of times. I'm not usually one to chime in on things like this, but it's become so ridiculous it's borderline laughable.
OP, this isn't really a dig directly at you, but for everyone that keeps asking. Simply searching or even reading a thread would have given you an answer.

someone special just needs to "mod" the stock native sprint wifi app. its been done on past devices, epic, evo, etc., just don't get why the S3 is lacking when it comes to getting the native wifi app working, neither on ICS or JB.
it's annoying having to rely on third party apps and having to jump through hoops to get one working.
i'd gladly donate funds to make it happen if need be.

WiFi Tether does rely on some features of the kernel to work. Perhaps they (Sprint?) changed he Touchwiz kernel for Jelly Bean that broke WiFi Tether.

I think the GSIII for U.S. is not included in the program's driver list. The International version works though. However, there's a program you can download from the PlayStore called Easy Tether. After downloading, follow the instructions to download the Windows (or whatever your OS is). Transfer the program onto your computer and install. Then connect your phone to your PC and you'll have tethering thru USB.
One other thing. The free (unregistered) version will let you browse the Internet but you cannot access Secure sites. You need to upgrade to paid (registered) version in order to access the Secure sites (emails, etc.). It's only $9.99 (one time purchase).

There isn't a mod available yet for our phone that will enable the multiview feature...they might have it for other note 2"s but i don't know if it's safe to try on the at&t version
Well here's the thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1961314
And I checked the zip and its nothing to damage the phone as long as you have a backup. Its just an app and a framework jar. And it works for the sprint so could possibly work. I don't have mine yet so I can't flash the zip but I would try it. If you have a good backup you can flash it and see if it works!
Personally, I think I will wait until we get a good working ROM going. I was browsing the s3 forums and noticed they had a port from the note 2 with unlimited multiview built in so I'm sure some talented dev will get it going for us soon. I must admit, this feature was one I was really looking forward to and one of the main reasons for upgrading. Was kind of shocked and disappointed when I got home and saw my nice new present to myself but MISSING FEATURES! Lol

Google Wallet Installer for Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, and US Cellular Samsung Galaxy S3.
Requires ROOT, an UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER, and BUSYBOX!(A deodexed ROM is just recommended)
My newest project, RemoteFlash, was just released! Take a look and give it a try!
Wallet Installer Is Now Available For Free To All Supported Carrier Models On XDA! (Donations Appreciated)
My application, "Wallet Installer", will install Google Wallet on almost any US based Samsung Galaxy S3. It simply edits your build.prop and then places the correct modifications into your system. It downloads all the files from my personal server, which is pretty quick. Just select the appropriate Rom type: AOSP, JB Touchwiz, or ICS TouchWiz, and then your carrier: Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, or US Cellular. I also added a restore option for your build.prop, so you can restore it after you setup Google Wallet. Hopefully this helps you out and makes the process easier!
Wallet Installer has been updated on the server side. The credit goes to Paul Obrien for the new version! To install it, simply reset Google Wallet, delete it, and then rerun Wallet Installer! Make sure to also have BusyBox installed/updated!
Please donate if my work helps you : )

And as always: I take no responsibility for bricked devices, whether a soft brick or a full on brand new coffee coaster.
It does re-write your recovery, but it appears to have worked perfectly. The install part was actually pretty seamless. But I would suggest some clarification on the play store about everything with the recovery. Well worth $2. Thanks.

It does. Backing up the current recovery is a very possible future update though. I just got the other carriers supported, so that wasn't my main concern at the time. You can simply flash back over it with whatever recovery you prefer.

That's the point of the restore build.prop option. As long as you have your cards already setup in wallet, you can restore it and your device will be registered as an S3, and Wallet will still work.
