I just found this option in my defy.
Settings -> text to Speech -> install Voice Data
But this thing is grayed out. So how can i install it?
And also I would like to enable the voice dialing option. But as of now its completely faulty or it doesn't understand our accent! Is there anyway of improving this thing.
In one of my nokia mobile I have seen like, we can record the names as we say it, so that next time when we say, it will easily detect!
Hey guys,
I am on Evo-deck v1.2 and I cannot get google voice voicemail working properly.
I followed the steps of installing the app, and dialing *287195825907 from my cell phone. When I do this, it says "welcome to verizon wireless..." (I'm on sprint though????). I've followed the directions to setting up the google voicemail on my evo online and on my phone.
On my phone's phone app under preferences, my voicemail handler is set to "none(dial voicemail number)" and an option for google voice is not even available. Any idea on how to fix this?

I would recommend uninstalling the app, then try re-setting it up.
tried that...no matter what i do, when i go to the preferences in the phone dialer, i do not see google voice as an option.

Well you would change the setting from the call settings under settings, and set voice mail to google voice.
it doesnt have google voice listed as an option despite me having followed the online instructions for setting up google voice
got it working.. just did the google online instructions. rebooted phone and then it started wroking
I can't seem to set up the forwarding options, i just get a network/sim error. I saw this in the CM9 thread but the posted fix did not work either.
@trobertson,
Potentially stupid question, but are you located in the US?
go to your google account dashboard, select goog voice and enable it there. worked for me.

I had the same problem. The natural Google Voice set up didn't work. Entering *004*12345678900# code didn't work either.
I got it working by ignoring the errors and setting Google Voice as the handler then manually entering the number Google gives you to access voicemail as the three forwarding numbers.
From the dialer, hit the menu button > Settings > Call Forwarding
Note, you don't enter your "Google voicemail access number" which seems counter intuitive. You enter your 10 digit number from *004*(these)#
You can find those numbers from the Google Voice webpage > click the gear > "phones" tab > Edit > Forwarding options: Activate > should bring up a window with your code.
Hope that helps.

That "10 digit number" (11 if you count the leading 1) that you are describing *IS* your Google phone number. If your Google number is 222-333-4444, then you dial *004*12223334444# to enable automatic forwarding to the Google number (which allows you to receive voicemail through Google). There is no special "code".
Anyone get Google voice to work with their verizon note 4? Seems that all my voice-mails are still through the verizon app, even though I have both apps installed and voice enabled.
Sent from my Note 4.
Try calling Verizon customer service. They can fix it on their end. I had the same problem.
Note 4
It's working just fine for me and has been since I received the phone.
Here are some steps you can take if you're having trouble:
After making sure your phone is still activated via Google Voice online and that Google Voice is selected for voice mail in your phone's settings (Phone -> Menu -> Settings -> Call -> Voice Mail), dial all three of these one right after the other:
*71[Your Google Voice number]
*90[Your Google Voice number]
*92[Your Google Voice number]
This comes directly from Google (click on "If you're a Verizon Wireless user click here").
After installing the update this morning, Google defaults to text input even though I have voice input preferred. This also is happening when I hold down the home button to activate Google. Has anybody found a fix to default back to voice? I have the T-Mobile version. Thanks
