Google voice? - Verizon Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Anyone get Google voice to work with their verizon note 4? Seems that all my voice-mails are still through the verizon app, even though I have both apps installed and voice enabled.
Sent from my Note 4.

Try calling Verizon customer service. They can fix it on their end. I had the same problem.
Note 4

It's working just fine for me and has been since I received the phone.
Here are some steps you can take if you're having trouble:
After making sure your phone is still activated via Google Voice online and that Google Voice is selected for voice mail in your phone's settings (Phone -> Menu -> Settings -> Call -> Voice Mail), dial all three of these one right after the other:
*71[Your Google Voice number]
*90[Your Google Voice number]
*92[Your Google Voice number]
This comes directly from Google (click on "If you're a Verizon Wireless user click here").

Google voice on sprint?

I think this may be more of a sprint thing then a Galaxy S2 thing but I am coming from T-Mobile, if I use Google Voice on my cellphone, do all my texts have to go through google voice? I have used google voice for a while now but on T-Mobile I had it just for my voicemails, everything else ran off the native apps, can I do that here?
i know there is a way to link your gvoice with ur sprint number.. also, im sure there is a way to forward your sms to your cell number..
Yes, keep your sprint number (do not port to google) but have everyone use your google number. All texts will go to google, AND to your phone. MMS will go to your phone only.
It works awesome.
got it figured out, thanks
I just told gvoice not to integrate with sprint and then I set conditional forwarding to my google voice number. I also had to set conditional forwarding on my t-mo phone to forward to my sprint number because I don't have time to stop by t-mo to buy a sim and reactivate the line after porting to avoid ETF on that account.

I used *28
my google voice setup
Hi
1. i had ported a phone number to google voice when i cancelled a line from verizon
a while ago.
2. just switched to sprint, and ported my verizon number to sprint.
3. after setting up phone, installed google voice and let it setup automatically. so there's some sprint integration, that you can't get around. also when the phone asks, choose, keep my google voice number
4.log into voice.google.com and clock the sprocket button, (lower one) and go to settings.
5. I clicked disable google voice next to the number
6. go back to google voice settings on your phone. logout
7. log back in, and do the setup
8. dial *38 ( you have to be on the sprint network, no roaming)
9. dial *28XXXXXXXXXX xxxxxxxxxx= your google voice number.
in this case
google voice should handle all your voicemails when people call your sprint number.
when you dial from your phone, you should be able to choose which number to dial out.
or in google settings choose to not use google voice's number as your outgoing number.
theres also a setting in the widget you can choose.
Its a little confusing, but it works.
also you might have to wait 15 minutes to change a google voice enable or disable setting on the voice.google.com part.
ok. google voice confuses me. so i live in the 918 area code. my google voice number is 918, but my cell is 816 where i went to college. EVERYONE has my college number. i'm trying to accomplish:
1. using google voice, while keeping BOTH my 816 number and my Google(918) number.
i installed gvoice on my SGS2 and it worked fine, but i had to select my sprint number, which makes my google number void after 90 days.
any gvoice expects out there? your help is appreciated.

Google Voice Issue after ATT Version pushed update

This may be related to the pushed update. I had previously setup and tested my Optimus G to have voicemail routed through my Google Voice number via the apk. It was working properly after setup on Friday.
Sometime after purchase I received a software update notification which I tried to ignore without success; it pushed after 3 refusals.
Did not lose root and could not see any difference with the new software until I received a voicemail. All voicemails now go to the ATT system voicemail. I tried to rerun the google voice setup but it did not seem to change the system voicemail.
What I did was manually set forwarding options to my google voice number.
Hopefully this helps anyone who uses google voice for messages and transcription.
sign into your account on the Google Voice website. Click on settings, find your cell phone and "Activate Google voicemail on this phone". They will provide you the procedure to set up forwarding. if it seems that its already set up deactivate it then re-activate it.

[Q] Issue with google voice & international calling from phone?

Hey everybody!
Recently out of the blue, my google voice stopped working as it used it. previously I used to be able to dial internationally from my phone and google voice would connect the call (the automated message would be 'this call will cost 2 cents per min" at which point it'd dial out). Not sure what happened but now when I dial internationally from my phone, I get a different automated message saying "my account is not authorized to dial this number". Also missing from my google voice app is the option to setup the call, ether to use google voice for all calls or just international calls. The only way to dial internationally now is to go to the google voice webpage and select a number to have my phone dial it out.
Anyone know how to fix this issue?
Thanks!
UPDATE: found solution, had to un-integrate google voice with my sprint number (somehow inadvertently had this integrated). delete thread.

[Q] Options to change voicemail speedial number

Google Voice voicemail has been successfully configured on my phone. all unanswered calls will go to my Google Voice voicemail. i'd like to press-n-hold 1 on my dialpad to call Google Voice, but i'm unable to change preset the voicemail number because the setting is disabled. (See pic below). Is there another method to change this number to my Google Voice number? Thanks in advance to those who reply.
Looking for a answer to this also.
I just use the google Voice app instead of dialing anything. I have not used voice mail for years. It all goes to Google Voice and I get a transcript via text and it shows up in my gmail account.
Does yours work perfectly all the time? I've been using Google Voice for years and with my Note 2 and Note 3 is like 50:50 sending my voice mail to voice. Half the time it still goes to my tmobile voice mail.

I've never used Tmobile voice mail. Didn't use VZW when I was using it either.
On the Note 3 there are 4 forward settings that affect where calls go..
Always forward - I don't use this
Forward when busy - Set to Google Voice
Forward when unanswered - Set to Google Voice
Forward when unreachable - Set to Google Voice
You have to have the last 3 set to point to your Google voice number or you might still have messages sent to your t-mobile voice mail.
Settings -> Device Tab -> Call -> Additional Settings -> Call Forwarding
Thanks I just checked that and mine are all set to forward to my Google voice number as well. Still for some reason done of the voice mail messages go to my tmobile number.

Voicemail Question

I have a Pixel XL and use google voice for voicemail. There is a tab in the phone which displays messages for Verzion Visual Voicemail. In the phone setup I changed voicemail to Google Voice. The messages do not show up on the tab in the phone app, I still have to use the Voice app. Not a big deal, but would be nice to have it all in one place.
Is there a way to get messages from Google Voice to show up in the voicemail tab of the phone?
Go in to settings g in the Google voice app. One of the options should be to display in call log with a check box next to it. Tic that and profit
That did it, thanks.
