So, before do bad thing, I want to know if I can update my HOX via OTA, without re-unlock bootloader or anything else.
Right now,I'm using the stock rom, I only unlock bootloader, flash custom recovery in order to root it.
Thanks

I already do it and nothing. Does anyone know if I update the firmware to 1.36 (my CID is HTC__044) and flash stock boot.img will work? Anyone can provide me just the boot.img file?
And if I flash the stock RUU 2.17.707.3 (which is the one I got) I don't have to update the firmware manually?
All I want is to update to stock JB via OTA.
Thanks.
What is the question?
The fact you got the update means you are good to go. Probably if you boot in bootloader it says re-locked?
The update will update your hboot to 1.36 and firmware to stock 3.14
Where you will lose cwm and root.
If you want root then you need to re-unlock it by cmd and with unlock file you got from the first time.

The question is why I can't update?. As I say already flash stock recovery, and I have the bootloader unlocked.
But what happens when you try to update?

After download the update, the phone reboot and an exclamation red icon appears, then reboot again and you can see that nothing is updated.
Did you got the smaller update too or not? When i flashed stock recovery from RUU i got the small battery update first.
Do you have stock recovery from when you unlocked the phone?

Yes, also I flashed again but nothing. I think that the problem might be that I uninstall some bloatware apps. Anyone know which bloatware apps are updated with the OTA update?
Ah that's the problem, your rom has to be as it came out of the box ! Otherwise it won't work
I should back this rom up and copy it to pc, then run the matching ruu to get back to stock or get the matching nandroid backup in the general section - nandroid backup collection from matt95 !
It's he easiest way in my opinion

I'm currently running 2.35 on my WFS and I want to reflash my ROM because I have the dialler error and can't seem to fix it. The phone is unrooted, uneverything. It's stock. I tried updating with the RUU and get error 140. When I use the SD method I get the 'main version is older' error. Any tips?
There is are many tutorials for downgrading you software. Please check the index thread at the top of the general section

ahh sorry. didn't realise I had to go through HTCDEV to update my bootloader. So my boot loader is now at 1.090099. I can't post this in simonsutiltiy thread(because I don't have 10 posts yet) but I'm getting stuck when it tries booting into recovery mode. The phone just goes to the red triangle and stops doing anything. I pulled that battery and it's still locked.
Do I even have to unlock it? Or can I just reflash the 2.13 rom?
Ok. New update and I could use some help. My bootloader is now unlocked and on 1.090099 on ROM 2.13. But I still can't update to ROM 2.14 or ref lash ROM 2.13. The RUU gives me the error 155. I went through USB fastboot but still the same error. Could anybody else help me?
You simply Unlock the Bootloader, and again reset HBoot using Supervision(I hope so), Then flash out the RUU file. But the only problm s it will be relocked again, then u need to proceed to unlock(if uy need to break rules) means>>>>>

It fails go install because you haven't got the stock recovery installed. You gotta flash it to update.
Gonna give you the link in a minute.
Here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/wbav46spkbznovp/stock recovery 2.17.img
Just flash by "fastboot flash recovery recoveryname.img"
Then update and it should install no problem.

Thanks guy I'll have a go when I have a spare moment and let you know how it went.
By doing either of these methods will I wipe my phone/factory reset?
Thanks again for the help
Only flash back the stock recovery and update the phone ....do NOT wipe anything ! After you updated to stock JB you can flash back the custom recovery and make a nandroid (to be sure u have one) nd reroot the rom or flash a totally new custom rom

No, your data should be safe if everything goes well. But do a backup anyway, before you flash stock recovery. And remember, if you'll go by the tutorial, use stock recovery provided by one of us two, not from tutorial (I'm not entirely sure, but I think it's only for older HBOOTs).
Just wanted to let you all know its done and went so smooth and quick to do. I think it took all of 1.45 sec. lol
I'm now updated to the latest software and I didn't lose any settings, I used the Voodoo OTA app and kept my root too
So thank you for those who helped
No problem mate.

Hi everyone... I tried looking for the answer to my question but didn't find any thread that covered the information for latest firmware (Samsung introduces something new everytime!).
So, I was using Pheonix ROM v17 with the MJ5 Bootloader, and then installed Android Revolution HD 20.1 (I don't know which BL I'm now using)!
I never flashed a stock rom using odin or through some other source below.
Now I want to flash the stock rooted and deodexed firmware. The OP doesn't tell anything specifically about a bootloader. We have to flash the rom through the recovery.
My question is, that if I install that rom via recovery, will my bootloader change? Will there be any recovery issues? Will I be able to re-flash other roms like the ARHD? Please tell me, because I am experiencing some serious issues with the battery and I hope that a clean stock install would fix this...
Any help would be highly appreciated!

Bootloader won't change irrespective of what which ROM you flash,i am using philz touch recovery ever since i was on 4.1.2 and now i am running 4.4.2 probam version and been on mj5 bootloader ever since i made the jump from 4.1.2
Recovery CAN NOT flash bootloader, so whatever you flash from recovery be assured that your bootloader will stay the same. The only way to flash bootloader is through ODIN or regular KIES/OTA update....
Thank you so much for the reply. I can finally flash in peace!

Could this be caused by Custom Recovery TWRP 2.7?

Stock Rom? If so, it will only install with stock recovery.
TWRP recovery only installs custom Rom/s and custom Rom updates (if the custom Rom supports ota updates).

How can it be SAME error ? Post a screenshot.
The earlier screenshot shows clearly that it needs htc_asia_india but your device has htc_europe
If the recovery is properly installed, when there are more errors, they should be different errors.
For example, an expected contents error.
It's not on about the recovery, its saying the ROM on the phone has the EU build.prop fingerprint as opposed to the one it needs

I see.. the system is smarter now. You have htc_europe ROM installed on a htc_asia_india device, do the OTA checking, the system will download htc_asia_india instead of htc_europe
Not necessarily. If the OTA was downloaded from HTC via the phone then the ROM is probably correct and the OP may have just changed the build.prop for some reason. We won't know unless they say so.
