[Q] Stock A510e updating main version is older error - HTC Wildfire S

I'm currently running 2.35 on my WFS and I want to reflash my ROM because I have the dialler error and can't seem to fix it. The phone is unrooted, uneverything. It's stock. I tried updating with the RUU and get error 140. When I use the SD method I get the 'main version is older' error. Any tips?

There is are many tutorials for downgrading you software. Please check the index thread at the top of the general section

ahh sorry. didn't realise I had to go through HTCDEV to update my bootloader. So my boot loader is now at 1.090099. I can't post this in simonsutiltiy thread(because I don't have 10 posts yet) but I'm getting stuck when it tries booting into recovery mode. The phone just goes to the red triangle and stops doing anything. I pulled that battery and it's still locked.
Do I even have to unlock it? Or can I just reflash the 2.13 rom?

Ok. New update and I could use some help. My bootloader is now unlocked and on 1.090099 on ROM 2.13. But I still can't update to ROM 2.14 or ref lash ROM 2.13. The RUU gives me the error 155. I went through USB fastboot but still the same error. Could anybody else help me?

You simply Unlock the Bootloader, and again reset HBoot using Supervision(I hope so), Then flash out the RUU file. But the only problm s it will be relocked again, then u need to proceed to unlock(if uy need to break rules) means>>>>>

Yes. But you need to meet a certain prerequisite.

Yes, but only part of unlocking. Not all of it. First you need downgrade, then Radio S-OFF, and finally Eng S-OFF.
Thank you. Is there a tutorials for downgrade?
I have Android version 2.3.3, Basebamd version 12.28b.60.140eP_26.03.02.26_m and Kernel version 2.6.32.39-cyanogenmod-g99f1050.

I tried this tool:

Okay, please do check again the steps provided. You may have missed something. Do you have reapplied temp and permroot using visionary? Most people forgot that rooting is required again after flashing stock 1.32. 2nd, check the radio s-off status, cid state, pc software requirement and other stated in the radio s-off guide. Btw, what's your current radio?

hi,
yes of course you can try for remote unlocking method either through the network provider or 3rd parties such as Theunlockarena.com/htc-desire-hd/rs13wp9/ to unlock your HTC desire HD.its simple process.they'll do unlock remotely and after that give you instructions to follow.you just need to do is give your model, network,IMEI number to them that's all..
yes i also followed the same procedure n got everything right.... First radio s - off then Eng off and also the super CID but for some reason i still cant use other networks.... any ideas what i am doing wrong... or any suggestions.. thnx. or any other method of unlocking the sim,,

[Bootloader Unlock/Relock] WFS "Light" Utility v2.0a (15/06/2012)

Here is a light version of simonsimons34's utility.
The only feature is lock or relock the bootloader.
OS : Windows (2000/XP/Vista/7/8) only.
Works with Wildfire S (GSM or CDMA) with unlockable bootloader (1.08.0099 or 1.09.0099)
Should works with MTD based HTC devices with unlockable bootloader
Doesn't work with eMMC based HTC devices
This tool is useless if you're already S-OFF !

If your s-off, it doesn't matter if it says locked as all security is open, you can flash roms radios and recovery, even if it says locked in bootloader.
Mine says locked in hboot but I can do whatever I want cause I have s-off.
hey guys i wanted to mention i do have emmc support now. For newer devices its honestly going to be way easier to just get soff as the partiton with unlock is the same as soff, and its relatively inaccessable.

Bootloaders 1.09.0000 and 1.10.0001 are also unlockable. They are for Marvelc.
1.09.0000 is the HTCDev bootloader for Marvelc. 1.10.0001 is the bootloader that comes in the most recent Marvelc FOTA update.

ended up unplugging battery...mini bricked, booted to bootloader, flashed rom again MW5, a lot of FC's.....ended up with NIKEZ P11, works flawlessy...still 0.80 hboot that's why need AL 1.80 install, will just use cd version...
or is any option to upgrade HBOOT to 0.93?
Use official 2.3 HTC RUU, it will upgrade hboot to 1.02.0001 and you can then use revolutionary.
BTW. What ROM you had installed when you were trying to S-OFF?

Sigh, you didnt read any guide or instructions didnt you?
It even says on the alpharev webpage:
Requirements:
The only requirement right now is that the ROM you're running is rooted.
As techniques such as 'data2ext' have been popping up, these might disturb our finely-tuned flashing process.
Please revert to a rooted stock ROM if possible. Your /data partition is used for temporary storage of important files.

And that was the reason you got stuck.
You have to use ROM without any A2SD scripts, like stock / cm7.

so my options are:

REVOLUTIONARY S-OFF
NEW ROM, NIKEZ P11 back
right?
Ye, and read the revolutionary FAQ first.

Update via OTA to JB (with HOX unlocked bootloader, rooted & stock ROM)

Right now,I'm using the stock rom, I only unlock bootloader, flash custom recovery in order to root it.
Thanks

I already do it and nothing. Does anyone know if I update the firmware to 1.36 (my CID is HTC__044) and flash stock boot.img will work? Anyone can provide me just the boot.img file?
And if I flash the stock RUU 2.17.707.3 (which is the one I got) I don't have to update the firmware manually?
All I want is to update to stock JB via OTA.
Thanks.
What is the question?
The fact you got the update means you are good to go. Probably if you boot in bootloader it says re-locked?
The update will update your hboot to 1.36 and firmware to stock 3.14
Where you will lose cwm and root.
If you want root then you need to re-unlock it by cmd and with unlock file you got from the first time.

The question is why I can't update?. As I say already flash stock recovery, and I have the bootloader unlocked.
But what happens when you try to update?

After download the update, the phone reboot and an exclamation red icon appears, then reboot again and you can see that nothing is updated.
Did you got the smaller update too or not? When i flashed stock recovery from RUU i got the small battery update first.
Do you have stock recovery from when you unlocked the phone?

Yes, also I flashed again but nothing. I think that the problem might be that I uninstall some bloatware apps. Anyone know which bloatware apps are updated with the OTA update?
Ah that's the problem, your rom has to be as it came out of the box ! Otherwise it won't work
I should back this rom up and copy it to pc, then run the matching ruu to get back to stock or get the matching nandroid backup in the general section - nandroid backup collection from matt95 !
It's he easiest way in my opinion

You can't run the HK RUU on a non-HK device unless you're SuperCID, which you can't achieve without S-OFF. I think RUU is your best bet to resolve your issue at this point.
