[Q] How to hide keyboard on note 2 - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys, how do I hide the keyboard on the note 2?
Sometimes in landscape it takes up so much space I can't even see the damn junk I'm typing.
I thought it might be thr little V shaped arrow but that just shows more word suggestions.
This is probably a daft question but I'm stumped, and didn't get any love from google either!
Thx gurus

Keyboard question

probably a silly question to most folk, but...
say i'm writing a text message and i get a spelling mistake, but i'm a good few words past the word, is there a way to change the wrong letter?, like on my PC i'd just use the arrow keys to go back and change it.
i seem to have to delete all the text to get back to the spelling mistake.
sorry for such a newbie question
Use the optical trackpad, it acts as arrow keys pretty much.
Tapping close to it if your far along in the message then scrolling with the track pedal seems the best idea, Unless your really precise with your finger
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
+1 for the above, tap near on on the letter to change it
thanks guys, much appreciated

[Q] I am on a misson!

Does anyone know how to get the thing the Droid X uses to get pick the spot you specifically want to be at when you text/type?
what????
you need to explain a little further. i am not a droid x guy, obviously but there is nothing any phone can do to predictt where you really meant to type aside from just the text prediction within the keyboard app itself.
whats wrong cant you type?
I keep telling my phone that I specifically want to be on a beach in Hawaii when I Type, but sure as hell, when I look up from my phone, I am still in Chicago.....
Not sure I fully know what you mean. If I need to add text to a message, I just tap the screen where I want to add the text. If I am a little off, I just use the arrow keys to get the cursor where I want it. If you are using Swype, Slide your finger from the swype key to the symbol key to bring up the arrows.
Are you talking about how to specifically go to a place between the text in a message? Sort of like the iPhone does when you long press on where you're typing and this magnification circle comes up? Haha this is pretty hard to explain.

Sorry about the delay guys... But that ^^^ is what I'm looking for! Dolphin HD does it... HTC browser does it, but the place I want it the most (text messages) doesn't! Anyone know any options? All I know is the droid x has this red thing that makes arrow keys and trackballs pointless, and I want that feature on my EVO!
Just tap the spot on the screen where you want to cursor to go. Or, swype from the top left key with the swype symbol, down past shift all way to the SYM key. The menu with the arrows will appear.
Doesn't htc input have the arrow keys, that's why its there

I do have to agree on this. Cursor arrows on keyboards are a joke most of the time. The one that swype has is nice, but if i had the magnifying glass like on Dolphin Browser I would never need the cursors. The cursors on the original HTC keyboard are a joke.
+1 I would love to see this on the EVO.

[Q] Note 2 keyboard stop responding

Hi all,
Found out that Note 2 when use the qwerty keyboard for typing, when you repeatly key in the same alphabets for example like "l" after a certain limit it will stop and the whole keyboard stop responding even you type on it. Then the keyboard will works again when you given it a space bar. Is this another bug for Note 2??
Anyone please advice.

[Q] S-Pen mode - is there a way to disable "back" button

Hello everybody
I am new to this forum and also new to Galaxyy Note 2. I bought this Note 2 for serious use of the S-Pen apps
and to take up note-taking seriously with handwriting mode.
The problem I am having is that When I rest my palm to write, the palm touches the "back" button accidentally -
and this happens several times - and I have to again get back to my notes by opening it again. I can't position my
palm in such a way that it does not touch the "back" button. If I moved my palm then it touches the "menu" button
and that pops up.
I write the notes with the device in the upright - i.e. vertical screen mode. If I made it horizontal it is fine but
since I see only a few lines I don't wish to keep it horizontal. That rules out one possibility.
The note 2 screen does not roll upside down as is the case with iPad3 ( in which the screen rolls upside down also).
If it rolled upside down, my problem would not be there as the palm would not touch anything.
How do I resolve my problem. Once again I re-iterate that I bought this Note 2 for serious usage in note-taking.
Please help. Thanks in advance

First of all, welcome to the xda-forums.
Secondly, you should take a look at this video if you haven't ( i firmly believe you didn't ) , it's great and worth watching :good:

Thirdly, for your problem there are a ton of solutions, the easiest being the first result of this google search :

Fourthly, search is your friend. Embrace it's love. Use it.
Simplistic framework has a quick settings button to enable/disable the capacitive keys
Look into the Android original development section for simplistic framework

[Q] How to move the 3 buttons bar ?

Hello guys, i was wondering if it was possible to move the 3 buttons horizontally in landscape mode. So you will need to swipe from down to up in landscape and not right To left... Like in the nexus 7 for example. I find it pretty disturbing to have it on the right lol. Thank you for your answers.
