Is any way how to change it back? Can I revert back to stock 4.0.4 and fix it that way? Thanks for the reply.

I guess it has to do with 4.2 using symbolic links and 4.1.2 using hard links.

Thesingle 0 stucture is rhe new file structure. If you're getting multiple nested 0 folders you need to update your custom recovery to prevent that from happening again.

If done properly, you should one and only one 0 folder. Best bet is to: pull all the files from your sdcard, get the latest recovery version, delete your nested 0 folders, then restore your sdcard data.
Easiest way overall: update recovery, backup sdcard, format internal storage, reboot, restore sdcard.

How to avoid losing media from CWM wipe

I'm sorry if this has already been answered but I would like someone to lay out to me exactly what doing a data wipe with CWM will delete. Will it erase the entire internal SD card or only certain portions or what? I have found various other answered pertaining to this question but none are directly about the Galaxy Nexus. I want to make sure that I won't lose the 25 gigs of music that I just transferred on here from my old SD card. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

it won't touch the virtual sdcard

Wiping from CWM will not wipe /data/media (i.e. your internel SD) if your on the latest version of CWM. It has been provisioned to be aware of that directory.

OK thank you so much. Got the latest cwm so I should be good. I do have all my stuff backed up but it takes so long to transfer all of it.

Wrong section bro
And about your data
It must be in data/media/0
But I'm not sure

Yeah just realized that. Sorry.

That happened because you didn't upgrade your recovery before wiping & stuff.

Just in case: my internal memory SDcard data recovery post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=34185439

Lemme explain what happened. I
backed up my ROM in ROM manager.
So I installed newest cwr touch, placed the files on the SD card like always, I booted into recovery, factory reset data/cache...etc. I went to " install from zip" it's empty. I went to back ups, nothing. Do I was stuck in recovery. Put phone into bootloader (Im drawing a blank on what it's called), installed newest TWRP, booted into recovery. It found the zip, installed it and all was good. But now I wanna go back to my previous ROM to do titanium backup. I bought a jetpack joyride perk and when I installed it on the new ROM its saying I have to buy it. Do I was gonna restore data on it. Problem is, cwr won't recognize my backups.
Thanks in advance.

I don't want to sound like a jerk when I say this... But if something is at least somewhat important to you, it would probably be a good idea to back it up on your computer or whatever. It'd better safe than sorry, plus it's really easy to backup the entire SD with:
$adb pull /sdcard /backup-folder-on-computer
^ Linux command, windows will have a different path

I avoid cmd and Linux command if possible. And it's not gone, it's just placed somewhere else. A Nandroid is all I need usually.

Sd split help..

Is there a way to wipe my internal 16gig.. From loading 4.2 and coming back to 4.1 somehow my internal memory is messed up. When I go into twrp I can see some files in my downloads folder but when I boot up and explore my memory it's different. I have factory reset and wipe when I Flashed new rom but it don't fix it.

Try looking in data/media and you will most likely find your files. It's a 4.2 change

In twrp there is a wipe internal option. Not sure if that'll do what you need.

downgrading from 4.2.2 to 4.1.2

I have a question about the process of moving back to 4.1.2 from 4.2.2
I was Testing the latest MIUI v5 build bu team noob and I flashed back to stock rooted MC2.
After booting MC2 I went to recovery and flashed the ZIP from the CM10.1 thread to downgrade back to 4.1.2
Now I have duplicate data in sdcard and data/media and I also have a folder 0
Should I just delete the 0 folder and the data/media folder or will that break the files in the sdcard folder?
Thanks in Advance!
I deleted the 0 folder after I transfered everything in it I needed. Hasnt been a problem.

Did you do anything with the data/media folder?
I have 2 of everything right now

I had not even noticed. Thank you. I will backup to a computer and delete.

Lol I was nevvveerr aware of this. Did this JUST started happening for galaxy note 2? Never flashed aosp since almost every Google phone out there has it and really ain't that appealing as the TW UI. But back in the HTC days I never had to flash a zip in order to boot up back on sense UI. How wieerd what happens if you download an aosp ROM and just wipe everything and flash a TW ROM???
Sent from my SPH-L900 using xda premium
This started when they updated the base to 4.2.2
Since there are no 4.2.2 TW roms for our device it only shows up in aosp based roms

I always odin back when I install aosp roms, that way I know all the partitions are the way they are supposed to be.

Anyone have an answer?
Sent from my SPH-L900 using xda app-developers app
2nd post was your answer just look through to make sure ur not deleting anything in one thats not in the other.use to deal with this on my nexus.i just deleted because its an exact copy was on my nexus anyways.

Crazy storage downgrade help

So I'm trying to install aosp..and my storage gets all messed up after. Something to do with different partitions. It says its empty but all I have is 2 gigs available.
I fix it by flashing a tw ROM then my storage shows up again and I can flash a nandroid.
How do I flash aosp without my storage becoming invisible? This has never happened before when I flashed aosp. My usual method to downgrade is flash a tw ROM then the restore SD card file. Idk what to do lol

I've always just moved the "0" folder contents back to internal storage after going back to TW...then deleting the duplicates...
After that I delete the "0" folder...then the legacy and obb folders...
Back to normal after that...
Your lost space issue is unique...and I've never seen that happen on my device before...g
