Which CM10 are you running? The nightlies in Nov and Dec have a kill all button in the top right corner. (Looks like steps) press it and voila!

I believe that is to clear all notifications. He wants to be able to clear his recent apps drawer of all opened apps. I am not running CM10 so I'm not sure how to activate it on CM10, but on AOKP it's in in Settings--> ROM Control --> General UI.

The clear notifications is if you drag down the notifications bar.
I wrote that message at 4:15am and was half asleep. I forgot to add that you have to hold the home button and the icon is there to kill all.
Unless it isn't what that icon is for...

Just update. In About Phone should be Cyanogen menu for updates. Its an auto installer. Everything is done for you after it downloads.

Removing apps from the most recent list does not "kill" them. Android will "kill" apps when it needs to.

Anybody know of a launcher....

So I was messing with my dads Nexus 4. Is there a Launcher or something I can use to have on screen keys? I'd love to have that recent apps button. Thanks, and call me a noob or whatever.

You can achieve this with most AOSP roms by enabling the nav bar. No launcher required If you're on touchwiz then I don't think so.
Go to the play store and search "recent apps" there will be one by "factory widgets" and then add it to the homescreen and it will perform like the button.

Question about home button

Does anybody know if its possible to program the home so a double tap brings up messaging and a long press brings up Google now? If so how could I do that?

If you are running stock TW then the short answer would be no. If you are using a custom launcher like Apex or Nova there are settings in the launcher behavior section where you can tweak to perform actions.
yeah, it's impossible on touchwiz,
I don't know about the customizability of the button on launchers, since i don't use them

If you hold down the menu button it'll bring up Google now. Unless you're in an app then it'll pop up the search engine. You're on your own on the messaging one tho lol. Double taping home takes you to S. Voice.

Can't hide keyboard!

So not sure if anyone has this issue but after changing my ROM I am no longer able to hide my keyboard by pressing the back button. Most apps I can tap the screen to hide it but some require me to hit next or something on the bottom of the page and my keyboard is blocking me from doing so and pressing back just takes me to the previous page...I included a picture of what happens

How to customize physical button?

There are 3 physical button under screen, left is Setting button ,the centre is Home button, the right is Back button. What I want know is to replace the left one by adding multi-task menu that can allow me access the apps that I have launched before. I don't want to hold home button for a while to open it. I have rooted my phone. If it does have a way to customize setting button, pls tell me. Thanks.

I know if you use slim rom it allows you to customize the hardware buttons.
I agree that slim bean allow customization on the button, short press and long press customization is available. Not sure if other AOKP based have this too. I bet they have.

That means you still haven't seen the light yet
I also recommend SlimBean rom, even their newest 4.3 build is extremely useable for daily use and the batterylife is great. Just a few graphical glitches still in stock browser and gmail but it's only a matter til they get ironed out . If this little bug annoys you you can always try a 4.2.2 build..
Thanks

Holding clear all apps button?

Anyone ever notice that on slim bean (that's what I'm using but it probably does the same thing on most 10.2 roms) when you hold the clear recent apps buttons it clears all apps and requires super user permission. What's the difference between just pressing the clear button and holding it? What's the permission for?
Sent from my SPH-D700 using xda app-developers app
I never used Slim, but CM doesn't have the function (CM has the clear-all function on the right-up corner of Recent Apps screen). PAC has similar function but different (press Recent Apps once to reveal apps, and then the button will change to a "swipe-away button", press again to clear all). Both doesn't require any permissions. I wonder what Slim is up to...

It grants permission to systemUI. I still have no clue why or what it does extra.
