[Q] Nexus 4.2.1 GPS lock unavailable! - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hi All,
My Galaxy Nexus 4.2.1 doesn't lock position with only GPS receiver and internet connection disabled.
Nexus has an internal GPS receiver, so ideally it should be able to lock position without internet connection.
I have read in many places that we need to enable "Google apps access your Location" settings but that will require an active data connection.
Think about a scenario - stuck in somewhere there is no internet connection and one wants to know the location - then Nexus wont lock position - right?
How to test that GNexus can lock position without internet connection. Tried all available "fixes" for this issue - no result.
Please help!

quick GPS question

in the "AGPS" settings tab, keeping it enabled turns on agps or just enables it ?
is their any real gps toggle (like wifi, bluetooth) or is it just used when using an app that uses it (google navigator or google maps).
so does checking the tab to enable agps actually turn it on from that point or is it just turned on when needed ?
thanks
Where dod you find that AGPS settings tab? I don't see it.

[Q] Wifi issues

Hi, just got my Galaxy Nexus from UK and has a very strange wifi issue.
When I enble wifi, it connects to my home network automatically, but it does not show the available networks, so I can't connect to other networks.
Sometimes, when I'm in an area with a few free hotspots, the phone enters in a reboot cycle and I have to remove the battery, startup and quicly disable wifi, or get out of the range of those hotspots.
Does anybody else hve a similar issue?

GPS no radio no wifi working?

Hi all
I plan to use the Galaxy Nexus as a music player. I will not activate it with a phone company. Therefore I will not have any voice or data connection. Also, I won't always have a wifi connection.
I would like to know if the GPS will be working under these conditions.
Definition of working : will give me a coordinate of longitude and latitude. Separate programs may require data connection but this is another issue. Might just download offline mays.
Thanks.
Yes, it does work.
Download GPS test from the market.

Internet from BT and wifi issue

Hi there,
at home i'm connecting to the internet via bluetooth (connection shared on my laptop), at work i'm using wifi. When i quit using internet via BT and try to connect to wifi network - it is not possible. It shows me an wifi icon in the status bar for a small fraction of a second and then the icon disappears. No internet of course. Disablig and enabling wifi doesn't help. Only way to get it working is to reboot the phone. The same happens when i go back from work and enter home and want to use my BT internet, but in this case BT connection is established, icon doesn't disappear but the connection is not working as well. Reboot needed to get it work properly.
I have unbranded HOX, using latest OTA, however in previous version (4.1.2) there was similar issue.

Is this with all Wifi connex or just at home?
If it is a home issue, there are a few tricks that can be done to your Wifi router or extender.
I had posted a good deal of info in the Note 8.0 General section about home Wifi connex issues with the Note 8.0.
I suggest using Insider 2.0 to scan your area for Wifi connection points. Identify your network and take note if your connex has any drops (the graph should stay stable within .5 db on its peaks. Mine did not until I corrected the issue with its setup. In fact most all home wifi connection points around me are very unstable, mostly do to the same reason and their channels are too close to each other as well.
You can search for my threads.
Hope it works for you, as there has not been a single instance of hot spot connections yet that I have needed to use a 3rd party app for wifi connectivity, once I properly setup my router at home.
I was going to use an app to allow hidden SID connectivity, but I realized my router sends extra packets, which can slow max speeds and the hidden SID is easily sniffed by hackers. So I did not bother keeping hidden SID on my network.
