[Q] Jelly time (Some questions) - Desire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all, I really want to know some things about this ROM.
I'm on Er3bus Rom (2.3.5). It's a great rom but I want to put Jelly time.
My questions are:
- If fully functional and stable? (The basic apps or functionalities, the mobile phone is own by my father and he don't use all the "nerds" apps (lol). )
- If the rom caused some problem, I could come back to the erebus rom?
That's all for now...
Thanks a lot

1.) I use JT R29 with updated Kernel 1.9(stable) and I think that's stable. But another may say something else.
2.) Make full backup before you install JT and you will be able to retrunt to the "erebus rom".

ROMs include kernels. You can also flash other (compatible) kernels separately after you flash the ROM; it doesn't matter if you flash gapps first.

So, to make a full backup, how I can do it? I make a backup with titanium backup, but I dunno how to restore it (in case that I should have to restore it). I've saw some files on titanium Folder.
And the kernel you say, is on JT post?
Thanks a lot

Hi All,
Do you know what version of RIL is integrated in JellyTime R29?
I have HTC Desire HD with JellyTime AOSP R29 and I'm just curious what is the best radio version to be used with it.
Thank you in advance!

I tried also with good results! CM7 + CM9 is a good combo - allows us to have camera working as well as the latest and greatest AOSP. It's amazing how similar the two devices are.
The trick is to correctly allocate the sizes of the 3 ext-3 fsimages based on personal use. 300 mb was way too small for me
This mod definitely has lots of quirks though...if you don't know what you're doing, it might not work.
After downloading files, I would suggest looking at this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21401063&postcount=249

cm7 w/ camera is on 2ndint
cm9 w/o camera is on 2ndboot
if i want camera, i can simply boot into 2ndint. so then i don't have to keep reflashing cm7 if i want a working camera! it's very convenient

I have a library replacement hack to get photo camera working, should be in the next thead down. I'd use the libraries from the latest nightly released earlier today, they're probably better since they were updated since last release.

If you are running alredy CM7 it will be very easy for you.
You can try Multiboot manager instead of doing it manually:

Probably naive...
I'm just getting back into the fun, and it's nice to see how things have progressed...wow.
Will multi-boot CM7/CM9 share app data?
EDIT: And I don't see the Play app in CM9?

Please try it again.
I tried three roms at a time and worked fine for me.
CM7, CM9 and MIUI.
I will try this rom to see if there is a problem with me.
WR and Pikachu were originally made to be used with 2nd-boot, but that never worked with the Bravo. I've never tried them on multiboot. I don't normally use multi boot due to too much music on my sdcard. That, and I had problems with roms with bugs/glitches they didn't have when installed to the system.
Honestly, WR is buggy as hell. I'd release an update, but I can't get some of the tweaks to work right and there's no radio after installing the updated one. If you want an updated WR, the closest thing is my current nandroid...The only problem is its touch recovery and I've never once tried multi boot with touch recovery.
I suppose I could remove touch recovery up my nandroid later today. It has working Bravia(yes I tested before and after and I made a difference), updated beats audio, 30 step volume, cyanbread framework themeing, brews coffee, the miui explorer from Defy forum, custom framework animations, transparent status bar/notification drawer, walks your dog, and zepplinrox's scripts already ran and set up. It has everything WR had except Go Launcher and Miui apps.
Autocorrect is pissing me off. Miui was Louis, Mohican, and Minuit. And my thumb is sore now.

Thanks, got Gapps working! Now I can't seem to figure out root?
A little late, but superuser was broken on ICS multiboot. Its fixed on the 0417 release.
Has anyone else been having problems installing multiboot when CM9 is the primary nand rom? It installs, boots to 2nd-system, but nothing works except boot from nand. Selecting anything other than boot from nand gives me the multiboot error screen and I have to reboot. The same zip works perfectly fine with CM7.

A system installed on the sdcard tends to use a bit more battery in my experience. That and the lost gigabyte of sd storage are the only disadvantages of using multiboot.
I will add that some roms have glitches when installed to the sdcard they normally wouldn't have as a nand install. Its a hit or miss when dealing with multiboot sd roms and glitches.

Just Rooted / Downgraded / now what?

hey guys..
so i just used Strawmetal's method of Downgrading my 2.3.4 to 2.2 HTC G2 *T-mobile* and continued to root it. I am able to boot into clockwork and just did a backup. I know its kinda noob, but im coming from a defy, but now.. am i free to flash any rom as i please? specifically Im looking into the G-lite... im concerned about kernel incompatablity and what not..
im not sure what the rules are for the G2 phone.. its been a LONG time since using the G2 and Im coming back to it. So any any help would be really appreciated..
Thanks a lot
If your already made a backup with clockwork then you can go ahead and flash the roms/gapps. Make sure you wipe beforehand. The rom should come with its kernel

thanks yo... ite crossing fingers... first boot...
anything else i need to flash? .. governors? fixes? ... radio? .. gps?
oOOOOhhh WHeee.. just booted... soo pretty ... thanks again !!
Umm governors are part of the kernel. You should be able to control them either with the roms inbuilt tools or an app like setcpu.
You should upgrade to the latest . 19 radio. There are instructions on how to do that on the forums. Ill try to find the link.

thanks alot.. i just flashed the new radio.. ahh man.. this rom is REALLY PLAIN.. haha but i guess thats the point.. any recommendations for one that looks decent and has good battery life? ... i suspect i will need to jump on that hzboot requirement..
Im not familiar with the glite rom. From what i could read on the thread it is designed to be lite. Im currently running the latest version of mimicry. Its pretty smooth and has amazing battery life for an ics rom. Im not sure what you meant by the changing the hzboot. You can always install the eng hboot for the g2. However you will need to install the desire z hboot for trying out sense roms. Ill also recommend installing 4ext recovery instead of clockwork.
Sent from my HTC Vision using xda app-developers app
I just downgraded/rooted/installed a new ROM yesterday. I went with Mimicry 1.3.2. There's plenty of cool features with that ROM. My favorites are the customizable lock screen (add up to 4 shortcuts), quick torch (hold power button while screen is off and your LED light will turn on), customizable battery icons (5 choices, 4 of which have percentages), shortcuts in the notifications screen (very useful). The ROM itself doesn't have many apps installed aside from the gapps you had to install.
The Aroma installer made everything a breeze. I also like how the WiFi calling package along with other tweaks were options in the installer. I would definitely recommend this ROM!
I am finding Mimicry good, too, and there's 1.4.0 now, just since yesterday
Like Deadeye, and indeed just a few hours earlier, I also rooted and installed Mimicry 1.3.2 yesterday. I am much impressed, and think it's a good choice for starters. Make sure you get 4ext recovery at some point, it makes changing ROMs so easy that you can always try another if you want...I've heard good things about several...aokp and elite mod are being used by people who helped me root, for example.
Just do a backup and flash any rom in the g2 developement section, you'll be good to go
If you plan on installing any sense Rom you need to install desire z hboot this will give you more system space and less space for apps 500mb and 1Gb respectively
Just google desire z hboot for g2 you will get it from there for an ics sense 4 Rom try gen y visionX B5 that's the best out there

[Solved][Q][REQ]Simple Kernel?

Hey guys! I'm wondering if there's a kernel available that'll only do a few things: OC and Theme. I just need these two, and none of the other stuff >_> Is there one available that can toggle certain settings? Or can I make my own?
Thanks in advance!

Device: HTC One V CDMA [w/o SIM card] & 16GB MicroSD card
Anyone? :crying:
What do you mean?
All the Kernels we have, except original Stock, has OC.
But what do you mean by Theming? Do you mean like Theming as in with Cyanogenmod with themes, icons, and wallpapers?

I *think* so... but I'm not sure. I am new the HTC, Android, and the entire platform, even though I've rooted mine, and my friend's HTCs. Maybe for the theming I'm thinking of ROMs [deoxized?]... IRDK anymore, but I just want the ability to overclock it. :fingers-crossed:
BTW: If I install a custom kernel, does it require anything in particular? like having CM10 installed, or can it be installed on the stock ROM? Also, if I do install a custom kernel, do I keep my personal data, like apps and settings? Like I said, entirely new to this.
Thanks for replying!

Isn't titanium kiss only for gsm ? He's CDMA. Use jmz stock kernel its under CDMA dev it should have oc.
I'd recommend upgrading to pacman 19.3 4.1JB with Simons supersick kernel from original dev.
I find everything super stable and usable and so much better than ICS and sense.
If you need a Tut on how to flash a ROM I'll link a thread for you
EDIT: heard you like theming? Try the cm10 themer DL tons of themes from the app store. Its sweet I have like 10 different themes lol.

HAH! **** the guides. I flashed a lot of kernels on my HOV using samsung and LG usb cables because that's what i've got at work so I am yet to find a problem with using an "unofficial" usb cord . If you start to reflect about this, its quite impossible to break something. The usb cord is a simple cable that transferrs files from a machine to another - so it can be an universal one, it doesn't matter.

I'd still trust an official cord rather than a 3rd party one, unless it's like something minor like transfering photos to the phone. But I'd rather not risk the possibility of soft bricking the phone

[recovery file] stock htc one v ics 4.0.3 - bloatware free [recovery file]

Hello there !
Glad that you are having a look at this :good:
I love HTC One V's stock ICS rom with sense 4.0, that awesome camera, battery life, stability and internet pass through feature was too good to be missed!
But the only thing that kept me away from it was the occasional lags due to those awful bloat ware n stuffs which HTC packed with this rom .
So I decided to remove all the “useless/unimportant/optional” apps from the stock ICS rom.
This worked perfectly fine for me OR should I say that I have no complaints :fingers-crossed:
I changed to Samsung Galaxy Advance recently, I thought of sharing this with my fellow mates in the One V forum as a parting gift to anyone looking for this (more like a pay back to the help this forum has given me).
A big thanks to Lloir and Maxwen, for welcoming me into this forum when I was a newbie (still am, somewhat … LOL). These guys are real champions! :victory:
Once again, I want to make it clear that it is 100% stock ROM with no modifications what so ever, other than the removed bloat ware!
I couple it with the Titanium Kiss Kernel by Maxwen (Latest Version)
Find it here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1765687
Also this recovery file works ONLY using TWRP Recovery by rukin5197
Find it here (if you are not already running on TWRP) : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1721749&highlight=twrp
Lastly … I am from India, and obviously this nandroid backup it taken from the “Asia-India” version of HTC ONE V Primo U (GSM version) phone.
So I’m not sure/ignorant whether this might work for other countries or not.
I would be glad if it becomes useful to you guys.
So here it is
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/36249166/HTC ONE V STOCK ICS ROM - LITE !/STOCK.HTC.ONE-V.LITE-abhikm001.rar
Pressing the "Thanks" button is always appreciated if you find this useful

the will not be any zip file ..
Download this file : http://dl.dropbox.com/u/36249166/HTC ONE V STOCK ICS ROM - LITE !/STOCK.HTC.ONE-V.LITE-abhikm001.rar
Extract it
place the folder you get into TWRP/Backups/HTC(somenumber) (if there is no folder like that just drop it in TWRP/Backups) folder and restart in recovery and restore. this is called a NAND backup its not actually a ROM .. its a snapshot of abhikm001's phone .
dont worry about kernel if you already were using a sense rom or if u were successful in flashing boot-TK-USB-201212251804
can u teach me how to change the system into the german language or give me the german language pack? thanks
use root explorer to find the rom.might be in the sd.ext.

Download link is not working. Please update it fast

[ROM][kernel]new hboot sense 4.0.3

First off let me say, I am not responsible for any damage this may cause to your phone you are flashing at YOUR OWN RISK.
that being said, this is a cooked ROM of the newest hboot on Virgin Mobile, it includes a kernel that you will need to fast boot flash.
features
deodexed
zip aligned
includes all sense 4 skins from HTC hub.
includes root browser free and go backup.
I may update this ROM if I feel the need, of course it would only be to add widgets and HTC apps from my old wildfire s that can't be found here.
only use if you are stuck on the newest hboot, my sister and I have both tested it and she's been using it for the past month.
IMPORTANT UPDATE
I had trouble uploading the complete but I have added a kernel download that should boot any sense backup or rom based on stock. remember to flash at your own risk.
if you wanna report bugs or anything feel free.

demi_fiend.... I'm not sure if this information is worth posting a new thread so I'm posting it here.
I personally am on the updated hboot1.57 and radio .0928.
I have also personally tested all Sense ROMs in the CDMA thread with the OTA hboot and radio.
This is my conclusion.
THEY ALL WORK!!!.
All you have to do is keep the original ( stock ) kernel. DO NOT FASTBOOT FLASH..... Everything works except WiFi.
Here's how to fix that. Make a copy of the WiFi modules in your stock ROM. You can find them in /system/lib/modules.
Save the copy some where on your sdcard. Now pick the SENCE ROM of your liking and flash it in recovery. Boot the ROM and install a root explorer of your choice. Now open the root explorer, find the modules and copy them, carry them to /system/lib/modules and paste. Now refresh the page where you paysted them and set the permissions to rw-r-r- on all 4 the modules that you pasted and reboot.
Now every thing in the SENSE ROM that you flashed should work just like it would on the old radio
Only thing that you can't do is over clock
Because of the stock kernel.
Hopefully this helps the guys/girls now on the OTA updated hboot and radio

Simon posted a kernel in this thread that supports the new hboot+radio and I assume/hope also would support overclocking. The one he posted is for AOSP-based ROMs, but I have updated it per his instructions so that it should work with Sense-based ones. Only thing I am unsure of at the moment is what modules would be needed (stock ones from the RUU or the ones from the old Sick v0.6 file). If I can find that out I can upload a zip that would have the updated kernel and flash the modules in recovery.
I'm sure you would need modules from the OTA stock ROM . Not the ones from the older radio.
There is no RUU for the OTA hboot/radio.
I have the modules if you would like a copy

Yeah I just noticed I missed the "patch" folder when checking for updates to them in the FOTA zip file :silly:
Well here's the updated boot.img if you wanna give it a shot. It is currently untested so I would highly recommend having a backup of a known working one on standby.
EDIT: Removed as WiFi isn't working.
Will try in a few

Did you copy over the modules you mentioned to see if those make it work?
Yes sir. Those modules (OTA stock updated hboot and radio) and modules in jmz's and modules in simons' 0.6 .... None fixed WiFi

Well that sucks. Now I wonder if there's a difference in the RAMDISK used? I used the one from boot.img in the FOTA with the new hboot, but I wonder if I use the one from Simon's v0.6 it would yield a different result.
You build I'll test....

Ok got a new attempt. I am not sure if all 4 of the module files are needed or just the 1 that I have. I included the module inside the kernel ramdisk so you might (hopefully) not need to copy the modules. However, in case you do, I have the module attached in a flashable zip. Let me know your results and if you had to copy any (or all) of the modules.
Got them........ Will test today....there is a big difference in size. The stock OTA boot img is 4.0mb and the one downloaded is 2.9mb..... Don't know if it makes a difference. But I will try once I get to a computer @ work
