Is it just me or is Vodafone mumbai throttling speeds to 2mbps.
Also, images in the Google play store don't load, while on 3g. They worked fine while I was roaming in Delhi.
Play store images also work fine when on wifi.
If you've got vodafone in mumbai could you please check your speeds and play store while on 3g.

My 3G is awful. 80 to no more than 300 kbps even with full signal in an urban area (st. Louis). Is this just sprint's network or a possible problem with my epic?

It's like that for me. I usually get around 100-200 kbps down with decent signal. I contacted sprint and they tell me to go to a sprint repair store and leave it overnight.
Flash the 3gturbocharger script. google it

Browsing suck on this network this app runs faster. i can't do nothing on 3g Browsing . But using this apps knowing the locations from this app i use everyday helps. It's really bad in illinois 3g is horrible. I just came from T-Mobile a month ago.
I keep my phone on cdma all the time to save battery.

Recently where I work, we had a meeting with Sprint network engineers and corporate Sprint sales people and I asked them when we should expect LTE to be in our area (West Texas more specifically Abilene, TX)
The engineer said that we should get LTE here in late 2013, third or fourth quarter
In translation to me, that means early to mid 2014! HAHA
I can't wait, I gave up a 4G phone to hop to the S III with LTE radio to be ready for it
My note 2 is
Hspda 9. 4g 19-20mb up 1-3mb down
Can it go higher ?
Is 14 lte

Not a clue what you're asking....
He's asking about data speeds on the various frequencies of the phone.
Officially, no LTE on this model, yet. Rumor has it, and I'll be testing soon, that if you unlock the SIM (I already have) that you can get AT&T LTE on the phone. I've already confirmed that you can get HSPA speeds on AT&T with it.
Re: the speeds in the OP...yes, the phone in theory supports 42 Mb/s on HSPA+...far higher than your posted speeds, in real world, who knows. Real world speeds are dependent on many variables - location, towers support, backhaul capacity, network traffic between the phone and the server, etc.
In my area, the best I've ever seen on HSPA+ with this phone is about 14 Mb/s, which is comparable to my VZW LTE phone's speeds on speedtest.net.
If you're using speedtest.net, test with several different servers. I'm in Los Angeles, and the app usually tests me out of Monterey Park or downtown LA, and I get lousy speeds with those due to network congestion. If I switch to a San Jose, CA or Nevada server, speeds can quadruple.

Are you sure you weren't on WiFi with that speedtest? The Xfinity doesn't sound like a mobile connection.

Xfinity is Comcast's new branding for their Internet/cable packages. I suppose it's possible he was tethering. That's the only way that result would make any sense.
No tethering

Oh gunna say, you can use speedtest.net which is the og site .
The note 2 has a 42mbps radio so it can support up to those speeds, but it depends on many factors as mentioned above.
In berkeley, ca I get 25 mbps and in the los angeles area (san gabriel) I'm getting 14 mbps
You might have to change servers as the servers around you might be slower than those a little farther away.

yup, horrible download speeds from play store in both wifi and lte. I'm Boston USA. I've noticed this recently since i switched back to android....i hope Google is aware of the situation and is doing something about it.
so im thinking about changing from verizon to tmobile because i really want unlimited data back (nfl sunday ticket). was just wanting some opinions from anyone else that made this switch in the central ohio area or has been with tmobile in the central ohio area.. how's the coverage? you hear good and bad, sounds like it's on the up in the recent years and future but theres nothing like the actual customers opinions.
verizon is the only carrier that has the nfl ticket viewable on the smart devices like phones and tabs.. so even if you did change for tmo. youd still lose the other option. or mix and match verizon tab with tmo smartphone with tethering unlocked throught roooting. really up to you
The NFL Sunday ticket app from DirecTV is available and works great on T-Mobile.
Also remember after a certain amount of data usage T-Mobile does begin to slow down data speeds to 2G

I think you're thinking of NFL mobile. I have DirecTV and NFL Sunday ticket like the person below.

Even with the unlimited 4g plan? I thought speeds were only throttled when you had, ie: 1gb of 4g data, then it would be unlimited after that but on the slower network.

Butler county Ohio. T-Mobile purchased aws spectrum from Verizon at 2100 mhz. Spoke to an engineer. Gave me his cell number and said to let me know how things are working. Really nice guy. He said volte is live in butler county also.
