Doesn't work on the last LH9 leak. It freezes.
Yes you are right on LH9 and no keyboard other than Samsung works...

working on LI1
Thanks rlorange!
the aosp kewboard is working on latest leaked rom LI1.
Good post, been looking for a clean flashable zip!
The punctuation characters ( , . ? ! etc) in the line above the keyboard are missing. I had these on my ICS aosp keyboard. Is there an option to turn them on? I really need them, especially the question mark, but I don't want an other keybaord than the aosp one :/
(Edit) SOLVED: shutting off predictive text brings them back
hey,
i always had the confusion about which rom was better for our phone, so i decided to make a list of pros' and cons' of both 2.3.5 sense and 4.0/4.1 roms
2.3.5 HTC SENSE 2.1 and 3.5
PROS'
1. Complete hardware compatibility, which means no hardware bugs like camera, bluetooth etc.
2. FB and Twitter integration builtin, which automatically syncs the contact pictures which make them look better.
3. The Rosie launcher(stock HTC launcher) looks beautiful and has good number of widgets.
4. HTC SENSE has accelerometer based gestures like filp to silent, in pocket mode etc.
5. Office and other utilities directly downloadable form HTC HUB.
CONS'
1. Not the latest and greatest in the world of android.
2. Not as customizable as CM builds.
3. Can't change the pixel density due to non agreeing HTC framework. (you can, but it makes the apps go wonky).
CM9/10 (ICS AND JELLYBEAN)
PROS'
1. Extremely good battery life.
2. Tons of customization options like changable theme, pixel density etc.
3. Many custom roms such as MIUI and Vanilla based roms.
4. JB is particularly fast.
5. ICS exclusive apps.
CONS'
1. Bad quality of pictures taken by camera due to unavailability of lib files ( the amazing devs have had to apply some nasty hacks to get them working).
2. Some apps may forceclose (that depends on the usage, although its getting rarer and rarer.)
3. No builtin Fb and Twitter integration, so one should use third party apps.
4. Not as good as SENSE aesthetically.
CONCLUSION
in a nutshell, if you want fast stable fussfree operator, go for Sense. If you want to have complete control of what your phone does and want to mod it till it begs for mercy (like me ) , then go for cm9/10
FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE CONFUSED BETWEEN ICS AND JB
1. JB is wayyyyy smoother than ICS
2. JB has no native support for a2sd so you must flash data2sd script
3. Playstore apps depend on the dpi settings.. so as long as you have 160 dpi, there wont be a problem
4. JB has better battery in my opinion.
5. Both have their own bugs, but i believe ICS is more stable(marginally) but Jb is not bad.
6. Both cameras are good enough for high-light photography,.
7. They record videos, but you need to use a thirdparty app to access videos..
modpunks JB rom has a working camera,..
I prefer JB over ICS anyday..
hope it helps..
Cheers!!
i dont think cm9/10 camera captures bad quality pictures!

it does, try taking pictures of dark objects. the shutter and the flash are not synced in cm9. so the shutter operates a splits econd after it is supposed to, thereby giving shadowy objects. on the other hand 2.3.5 is much much better.. ill try to upload some screen shots as soon as i can..

Don't forget CM 7.2 - fast, stable, customisable everything works (except possibly usb tethering), only it's Gingerbread so people find that a bit dull. Still if you want a ROM that uses all your phones features without annoying bugs and without Sense getting in the way and hogging your RAM then it's a winner.
there are ways in which you can improve the speed of sense roms and increase the battery life of ICS roms. I mean there is a way to make both GB and ICS equal. but that would be hard. Its definitely down to the usage patterns of various individuals. Whether you use data2sd, link2sd, app2sd or not, your brightness levels and et-al. Using whatever2sd reduces battery life. Its always been the bone of contention, this debate whether to use something which our phone has been designed to run well or to use something which google keeps on improving....

frankly anyone who has tasted cm7 will want to use cm9.. . once you get the cyanogenmagic, you cant stop really..
CM7 is good but 3D graphic in CM7 is bad - just only 14 fps so I prefer sense ( 3D graphic score = 24-25 fps )

They are alright, but not as great as the hardware is able to capture. I'm not sure about how all that stuff works but surely if we can get good quality on an older version wouldn't it be able to be ported forward? If you zoom in a bit there is noticeable noise in the picture.

When I installed CM9 the phone app didn't work - reflashed and it still didn't work. call me old fashioned, but I want a phone that can make and receive calls, not a tiny tablet. Also I want a phone that can take half decent photos.
When (and if) CM9 becomes fully functional and stable on the WFS, I'll give it another go because it looks nice and runs well if you don't mind the bugs...
Extremely good battery life for ics? Nah.

JB.. again.. the trebuchet launcher responds quicker than on ICS..
Has anybody been able to get 4.2 camera to work? I have found several apps and flashable zips. The best one for me is Camera/Gallery built from 4.2 AOSP for ARMv6 by KonstaT - modaco.com/topic/355903-devrom2411-cyanogenmod-10-android-412/page__st__2220
In my gio this gallery is fully functional with edit and stuff, but I can't do anything with camera.
Just in case when you flash konstaT-s gallery/camera app, it replaces stock gallery and camera so do backup.. every other camera/gallery apps I tried did not replace stock gallery and camera, but konstaT one did. So I'm kinda stuck on it
So can anyone help with getting this thing work on Gio?
We dont have 4.2 yet so why talk bout this..

Is cybershot app mod available for any JB rom and if not will it ever be available?
I have searched hard enough but failed to find it.
Which is the best camera mod for JB roms? I am using SJB.

So far, no one has succeeded porting sony's camera to non-sony JB ROM.
Maybe it is a trade off we must pay for JB speed. Believe me, everytime I use a JB ROM, I always goes back to sony's ICS ROM because of the camera.

The question is whether it will ever be possible to use any cybershot mod on JB roms.
If not, I'll have to switch back to ICS with a heavy heart...

Camera FV-5 has a few otherwise missed features: [play.google.com]
I'm planning on switching to CM10.1 sometime. If anyone tries this out on a JB rom sooner, please report back. Thanks!
FV 5 and cybershot are completely poles apart. It's for full manual control while the later is for powerful automatic mode. Plus its not free (limits resolution) and is not good enough to be purchased.

You're missing the point. It's not as good as Cyber Shot but it brings a few features (excluding scenes) to Cyanogen roms that would otherwise be stuck with the stock app. If you're running a Cyber Shot compatible Rom, stick to Cyber Shot.
Try Ucam Application. It's not a mod but it's a good app.
