Could be the keyboard itself, if you're talking about swype, it has been having lag issues. For me the android keyboard and others have not had any issues
Well I'm using the stock android keyboard that came installed on dark side evo 2 and it lags whenever I type quickly

I've been using the Swype beta on all Evolution 2 Betas and no lag at all

I've noticed this also, Swype is the closest to no lag, but while "Swyping" occasionally the screen breaks and I wind up having an incomplete word.
I'm pretty sure that it's kernel issue, and hopefully will get updated once more stable releases come out.

I agree, I tried ICS keyboard, swype and swiftkey 3- all lagged...never had this issue with GB.
Glad it's just not my imagination then. I guess the only fix is to change roms but I don't wanna do that just yet because most of them have crap battery life and all of them have some sort of little bug. i don't wanna loose this stock build battery life, it's the best battery life I have EVER seen!! But this Keyboard lag is really starting to drive me crazy the more texting I do...and like you I have tried every keyboard on the market!
Swype lags even worse on jelly bean so if keyboard lag is an issue ,I suggest switching back to gingerbread

That's absurd... i had a epic 4G touch which is basically the same phone with a lesser processor and it was fine on ICS. So I know it's possible the roms just aren't there yet. To think this is just a problem we have to deal with is completely ridiculous.

working on LI1
Thanks rlorange!
the aosp kewboard is working on latest leaked rom LI1.
Good post, been looking for a clean flashable zip!
The punctuation characters ( , . ? ! etc) in the line above the keyboard are missing. I had these on my ICS aosp keyboard. Is there an option to turn them on? I really need them, especially the question mark, but I don't want an other keybaord than the aosp one :/
(Edit) SOLVED: shutting off predictive text brings them back

Jb camera apk for ics?

Hi, can anyone tell me if there is a flashable zip of the jellybean camera for ics? I know that Android 4.2 camera is working but it is slow (you have to hold it steady quite long before it takes sharp photo) and I don't like the ics one. Or (the best possible way, is there a way to get 4.2 camera working faster? (it is slow even in jb roms)
FLOWed from my Wildfire S A510e using xda app-developers app and SwiftKey Flow.
Im running cm10 but i use jb camera+ from playstore.
Perfect for me!

AOSP vs TW camera

Been using TouchWiz since I got my phone (FreeGS3), now switched to LiquidSmooth (4.2.1), and it's awesome...
BUT, the photo quality on TW was MUCH better. So much that I think I'll switch back.
UNLESS anyone knows ... is there a camera app for AOSP that can match the quality of the TW camera?
Has anyone else noticed the inferior photos? Blurrier, less colorful, no HDR ...
And most idiotic of all, the whole "viewfinder" rotates from landscape to portrait ... which makes NO sense.
On a side note ... I wish someone would create a camera app like the HTC Evo 4G LTE where there are TWO buttons on the screen, one for photos, and one for video ... so that you don't have to switch apps!
Samsung's tw camera is the best...I have downloaded camera zoom fx and still the two camera is better by far...I wish there was an apk for the the tw camera on my aosp...all other cameras are slow

Porting the TW camera to AOSP is possible. The TW dependencies just have to be removed. I remember an old friend of mine posted a how to in the OG Epic forums... Might take a look and see if it's something I can poke into

I believe photosphere only works on 4.1.x AOSP based ROMs and not 4.2.x AOSP ROMs...

I have it working on my phone running LiquidSmooth. I have the zip that I used but cannot find the xda thread that I got it from. I'm a little hesitant on posting it, because it's not my work, but I also want to help.
Here is a link to the file: 4CamNex2.zip
This is the stock camera for the Nexus. All you have to do is flash it in your Recovery (I used TWRP). It has a working photosphere, but is very limited in the settings you can change. For instance, I cannot choose the storage location or HDR or any of the fancy stuff that comes with the LiquidSmooth Rom. You can see my screenshots I just took to see what it looks like.
What I have done to mitigate these limitations is that I kept the LiquidSmooth camera. When I want to use Photosphere (which isn't too often), I use the Nexus Camera, and all other pictures are taken with the Stock LiquidSmooth camera. When I do things like set wallpaper, I have to choose my gallery (two cameras = two galleries), but it's not too much of an issue for me.
Hope this helps, and if anyone can find the original thread with this camera, let me know and I'll link it (and remove my dropbox link). I want to give props to whoever created it.
So are the pics quality better with this camera mod compared to whats in liquid smooth ??

[Q] What is the stock keyboard like?

I've Googled this and I can't find anything helpful, but I thought I remembered hearing that the stock TouchWiz keyboard on Jelly Bean had a Swype/4.2 like feature with the gesture dragging. Is this true?
That's the android 4.2 keyboard on nearly all touchwiz ROMs.

So the 4.2 keyboard is on most of the TouchWiz ROMs?

the 4.2 keyboard is on the 4.2 TW roms. as far as 4.1 TW roms, if the 4.2 keyboard has been included, it will be listed on the thread as one of the rom features.
when i got my AT&T S3, it had swype included on it. i dont know if thats a feature included on any of the stock firmware here on the forum.
Now that I have the GS3, I'll answer my own question: the stock Samsung keyboard has gesture typing like the Android 4.2 keyboard.
