srsly? ppl that complains it is close to miui should just shut their hole.. xD this is a nice interface, sure it might look like miui, but thats because ppl want it that way. in my opinion it looks alot better so far, love the lockscreen even if its a copy of an iphone theme. i like how they made the easy froyo like buttons at the bottom for launcher, and everything looks slick, smooth and clean.
if u don't like just do not use it.. not hard MIUI is good, using it myself, but the time Meizu m9 out im chaning the sec i see its stable.
I agree with Rasta - looks quite poor tbh. I'll reserve judgement until a proper version is released
Look at it running on the m9 it looks so much better if we get a fully working port it could be awesome

telling me to shut my hole because of opinion?
nice one idiot
the status is miui
the gallery is 3d gallery
the file explorer looks incomplete
the launcher just looks like a hybrid of expresso sense hd and stock
the phone is miui
so basically it looks like a bad miui theme with less functionality and a sense bolt on.
thats my opinion, does this make me a moron that should shut my hole?
im not even complaining, im just saying what it looks like
im not a fanboi, i go with what i like. i cannot see anything that ui has to offer that miui or aosp with launcher pro cannot
indeed more options available is a good thing however it doesnt mean i cant have an opinion on how it looks

Well, Rasta has every right to defend his opinion. He just said it looks like a poor version of MIUI (which I kinda of agree with) and that was met with abuse from the other poster. It's natural to then defend yourself!!
End of the day it's another ROM - some will like it, other's won't. I will personally wait for this to come out before posting my opinion but at first glance it does look like a rubbish MIUI

well think of it like this
if no one questions a UI how will it improve?
you think miui got good without people suggesting things or without input?

"Deama queen"
Opinions are good, but idiotic opinions that does not rly say how good this ROM is, is just stupid.
so what? what other roms does not have 3D gallery? dude as i told u, this ROM has it because..? PPL like it! its called following the ppl. And the "status"? where is that alike ? its more iphonish, then yes its like MIUI bec miui is Iphonish 2 lol. and the Launcher? Yes it might look that for u. but for me it looks GREAT! because its minimalistic, no need for more than 3 icons, no need to take the whole bottom of the screen, no need for 5+ screens 3 is more than enough. ill say it again, when this ROM is stable on Desire, its the best ROM there ever be. Atm im using MIUI, bec i was gonna test the Meizu M9 skin, but it fails-.- still needs improvements. and who said fanboi? ... just saying, who said it? i have used allmost every single ROM in here i liked *Oxygen 1.0.4, DeFroST 6.1, the sense roms are kinda lame atm imo, would be cool with a Desire HD'ish look or customization, The gingerbread ROMS are bad atm, but they are working on it, improving it every single day/week/moth. But in the end, ROMS like this is the best choice, best UI, And makes your phone shine like a piece of gold.
imo your opinion is just based on "omg it looks the same". take a huge thought, and think with ur brains alittle what ROM is not the same?
and sorry that I am strong on my opinion, but this is the thoughts of more than just me, more like all the MIUI users ppl that chose MIUI are the ones that does want iphonish look on theire phones tbh ive done eevrything to make my phone look like one, and ive had a 100% copy but it sucked, i like the easy android layout, no need for all the extra crap and **** they put in there. 3D gallery is a MUST, Nice and clean looking Statusbar is a MUST, Minimalistic launcher is a MUST. and this has it all the settings looks GREAT!, the lockscreen even Greater! can't rly say 1 thing thats negative with the ROM the day it will be released, oh the tears that will fall...
I'm an MIUI user and I don't like this, so you can't speak for me thanks

Hey all! Just rooted my new TMo GSII, coming over from an Evo4G. Im still reading and such, but Wanted to get a quick overview on this phone Is there a generally accepted best ROM or most stable, etc? Anyone know of a blue themed ROM? I did find THIS ICS ROM, not sure if sompatible with the TMo SG2?
What say you!
First of there are many threads about ROMS, but I will answer your questions before someone comes and flames you.
Look in the themes and apps section for themes you would like with screenshots. Juggernaut is probably one of the top 3 most stable ROMS with pretty much all themes that work for it. So go with juggernaut and ICS theme from Alexia and you should be fine.
There is enough hate in the world. Why can't we all get along here ...?

You beat me to the flame, but honestly don't we have a reason to do so when the answers are obvious? The ROM with the most views is more times than not the most popular and its not hard at all to visit the Themes and Apps section to notice the ICS theme being one of the most popular....then when people don't know how to thank you correctly for giving them a good answer (just saying)
Try the phone candy theme for juggernaut its blue and the one I use

IMHO the sleekest blue theme I've seen. Clean, simple, & tasteful! Doesn't have anything too dramatic or tacky things that screams nerd LOL
Choose a rom based on your personal needs and use; whether it be longer battery life, best performance, or features.

Lol i didnt like the theme tbh, felt the icons were "out of place" some parts i liked but mainly the theme was abit 2 much..
Jugs is a good rom but cant expect it to fit everyones taste..
@OP: best possible recommendation, simply either try a few roms, find 1 you like, or what works best for you, and if u cant find a theme, either put in a request or build your own its rather simple xD

Awesome work
First of all nice work on DK5. Have no issues at all.
Second is a question...what kernel would you recommend for your ROM(s)?
---------- Post added at 09:38 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:49 AM ----------
I am posting this in the Q&A section because of my noob status and I registered solely to post this.
First a disclaimer: I have been a long time visitor/reader of XDA but never registered. I registered this morning for the sole reason of applauding DigitalKarma on such a fantastic ROM for the EVO 4G, DK5.
I’m not a developer. I’m an end user. More accurately though, I am a “flashaholic”. Not a day goes by that I am not searching for the next best thing in ROMs for my EVO.
I have run the full gamit of ROMs.
CM6, CM7, MIUI, MikRoms, Evervolv, MazWoz, Alter, Elite, Derp, Express, Nitrous, SOS, ODJDub. And that is just a start of all I have tried. AOSP, Sense 1, 2, an 3, ICS, you name it, I flashed it.
I look for aesthetics, speed, battery life, functionality and size in that order.
Those that look great and were fast, lacked in functionality with FC’s. Those that were functional and speedy, were usually so large that right after installation, I could not update apps do to the disk space taken up by the ROM, or, the battery meter moved faster than my gas gauge.
DK5 is hands down the best ROM I have tried in the past year. It meets and exceeds all expectations. Everything works. Everything is FAST and responsive, it is very pleasing to the eye (The Gomorrah clock is a brilliant touch btw). I have a new phone, and could not be happier with the results.
Stable, functional, fast, wonderful aesthetics and very good battery life.
Just wanted to commend you on your work and efforts and just say THANKS.
And I am all a flutter waiting for DK6. Keep up the great work!
hey sandtrapjack! thank you for taking the time to post thoughtful commentary on my rom and giving it a chance. the things you described are exactly what i had in mind while making this rom. i would love to hear more from you here on these forums.
as far as kernels goes, i still prefer the original Stock kernel that comes with the rom for the best stability. but if you're looking for an alternative i suggest you check out the kernels from ca1ne. he does great kernel work. links below for more information
Classic Sense Kernel: Stock kernel that behaves like a Stock kernel but with added performance tweaks. check this out if you want "closer to the stock experience"
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1557248
Underworld Sense Kernel: Stock kernel that behaves more like a custom kernel with over and underclocking capabilities, if you need to do that kind of stuff in your rom check this one out.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1570308
can't go wrong with either one. let me know how the kernels are working for you with this rom.

currently there are no flashable themes for the rom. the closest thing to making the rom look appealing to the wife would be to go into htc wallpapers and use the pink flowery wallpaper thanks for trying out my rom!

I was wondering what are people's Favourite RoMs are at this point?
I've tried a few and am really excite about these custom Roms but can't decide what and why I like each one. The WoW factor is huge right now. I like the Inc3ption V1 which was my first. Then I tried V2 which is my fav so far I think? Sorry to 'The Collective' but I changed my Bootanimation...I found one from google I was trying to change on my Rooted Stock GB but was never able to find a way to use the bootanimation.zip. Thanks to Dman for putting the custom boots in his rom! The animation I used was the android guy pissing on the apple symbol! Classic!!!!
I've just installed ItsMeBdon stock ICS and am happy about it as well!!!
I can't seem to find the 'Thanks' buttons? Am I so new I can't do it yet?

Been playing with roms all day. I really like JayJay ICS and most likely staying with it. I REALLY like the RAM usage on Inc3ption v2 as I can get it down to under 150mb?
Again, If I am doing something wrong, Please let me know where else I should be asking my questions.

My favorite so far has been jayjayjoker's Krionz rom as far as ICS, and I beleive I'm on a stock kernel. I've not been able to figure out the inability to control processor speeds though when using any ICS rom and kernel currently available. I can't be certain if the governors have any affect, and i can not lower the clock manually below 768mhz. I'm trying to go back because of this, but I'd say my current favorite for Gingerbread is the Osimood rom.
My favorite is my ROM but when dman's new ROM comes its gonna be my choice.

Thanks again to everyone out there for bringing joy to my day! My wife is really hating me playing with my phone all day instead of doing our laundry or putting up that tile! I'd much rather try and brick my phone! XD

Go into the Meet and Greet sticky and introduce your self! talk to people and get to know these good folks here. we're all here as a community helping each other! don't forget to give thanks where it's due and sometimes donate to the devs that put their time and effort creating these roms for us! without them, our phones would be imprisoned to the carriers we use. Out of all the device forums I have seen, XDA Developers is by far the most informative and the people here make to feel right at home, even tho we live all over the world!
I'm definitely waiting for dman's cm9 myself but jokers rom is what I'm running with now and its cool stuff. I think I'm going to try a hand at theming for cm9... touchwiz is kind of gross.

I am liking the look and feel of cm9. Think I'm gonna setup JayJay ICS today and make sure I have a backup of it as well...I like that I can add a custom bootanimations.zip or shoud I say sanim.zip for Inc3ption v2. When I removed the bootanimation.zip and sanim.zip v2 has a real cool plain android letters boot??? I can't seem to copy and paste it to JayJay by replacing the qmg's? It just shows Samsung Galaxy SII. Not really sure why it wont work, does it have something to do with using GB .qmg's on ICS?
Anyways, l'm OCD with checking for a new build for cm9 and can't wait to see Alpha-5 get past the boot...Not sure what I'm really doing but I even tried loading in the lite kernel after the booting locked and it didn't even show the boot animatin. It just skipped it all together and was flashing the time in the top right corner of the screen before it woud loop with the rumble.
Thanks again everyone for the advice, really looking forward to being able to post to more places soon.

I don't know how you can ever get bored with any Android phone with a good community. First of all, there are SO many different ROMs to flash here (TW based / AOSP based / Hybrid all offering so many different things). Once you've flashed a ROM you like, you'll spend countless hours customizing every option in it. Then you can spend time finding the perfect kernel to match it (and undervolting / overclocking takes a while to get perfect). If that is not enough, you can get involved in kernel development, ROM development, or even theme development. The possibilities are really endless with Android. On the iCrap, you're literally locked in to one setup (hell, you need to jailbreak to even customize your homescreen). I can see how THAT would get boring quickly.
My personal favorite ROM is Slim Bean, everything just works and the features offered in it are amazing.

Why would I spend countless hours flashing roms and kernels. My thread has nothing to do with roms and kernels. I simply stated what I ran and what I'm planning on running. My question really is any good apps or games someone can recommend to keep me busy.

Maybe because your post was mostly about going with 10.1 and coming back? That's certainly what most would think. Apps and games, ask more specifically because nobody has any idea what you'd like. You won't like what I run so can't help. ROMs, maybe but apps, no.
When I get bored I look in Dev for ROM's or Kernels that might need testers LOL.

When I got bored I started to look through the Q&A thread and started helping the "noobs" out. It's been forcing me to really know what's going on with the phone and to think like a troubleshooter. I usually will flash whatever ROM/Mod they're having trouble with and see if I can replicate it. I also try to write out instructions in a clear, legible way. It's actually been a bit of a challenge to disseminate the information into a clear, concise form. I know it's not technically an app or game I play that keeps the phone fresh, but this is what's keeping me from getting the itch for a new phone.

Yeah I go through QnA and Gen all the time to help out. But that isn't because of boredom it because I want to and like to. It keeps me sharp for my real job which is tech support for a hospital.

My real job is structural engineering, so I don't get to do much IT troubleshooting (although sometimes my boss asks me how to do something in excel, huzzah!). So yeah, it's not 100% out of boredom, but it does keep the boredom at bay.

I hear you. Me being bored is never a good thing LOL I usually get into trouble.
No back on topic LOL
Sorry OP for a little hi-jack action. The only games I really play is cribbage, galaxy, jewels stars and pac-man LOL not sure that list will help you.
@OP
Here: Whats your favorite game?
And here: What are your favorite apps and games?
Sometimes getting bored is a good thing.
I came from the old windows mobile world, where you had to constantly flash custom roms just to make the thing usable. Never got bored trying to keep it functional.
When I switched to Android suddenly the phone was reliable, fast and did what I wanted, but a little laggy at times. That kept me tweaking the phone with roms until they released ICS for my GS3. At that point the phone was solid, fast reliable, and did everything pretty well. So now I am really happy with stock MB1. Look at all the time I have for other things now!
You must have been going insane on the iPhone Lol. Sometimes I go to other phone threads to see what's going on, but if you post there and they know you have a S3 it turns into an argument, at least that was my experience with the Optimus G. Check out the themes and apps section too, there is stuff you can check out without changing your ROM there.
