But when phone is cold (-20° C) this works fine. What is it, can you help me
change the touchscreen(is cheap kinda 20$)
..
maybe some " spot " from the touch screen is blocked ... maybe due to the " heat " that kinda makes the touchscreen to misbehave.
but first try to reinstall the ROM by wiping all things.
Thank you, I did full wipe and reinstalled Rom, problem is still exist. How can I change touch screen and where to boy it for 20$? If I change touch there will be air gap I think. In my service centre to solve problem I need about 240$
now phone is ok, because im outtdoors where is -25 ' C

Why don't you take it to the HTC repair center. I'm sure they will replace it for free since it's hardware related problem

Are you sure about this? I thought by unlocking the device you lost your warranty (HTC made it pretty hard to ignore), since software can f*ck up the hardware?
check here------->

i think htc repair centre wont work with my phone cuz of unlocking bootloader. about link... this is only touch screen, ours service centres cant make this job to replace only touch screen. After this zerogap will be lost

So today my touch screen on my HTC Touch Pro 2 just stopped working. It doesn't respond to any touches on it at all. I can use the hardware buttons and the keyboard, but nothing on the touch screen which makes the phone practically useless.
Does anyone know of any settings that may have caused this? I'm hoping I might've mistakenly turned something off that made the entire touch screen shutdown. Doubtful, but worth a shot.
If you aren't already, you should flash a stock ROM to make sure it is the hardware at fault. If it acts this way with a stock ROM, then you have a faulty digitizer. You could either try to replace it yourself, or send it in for repairs or a replacement if you still have warranty remaining.
I am already using the stock ROM
Is that happened due to error on D3D driver?

No, it's happening because of a faulty digitizer as I mentioned above. That needs to be replaced.
Try a hard reset first, it happened to me once.

Thanks "cajunflavoredbob"
Although my phone is out of warranty they replaced it to me
I think this will never happened again
so that what makes me want to ask you what is the " faulty digitizer " ???
and how it occurs??
sorry for annoying
My 4 Month old HOX has developed a horizontal bar shaped area in the middle of the screen which is dead to touch!
Used the pointer trace in development tools to confirm this.
have re-locked and stocked the ROM for return, does anybody think i'll have any problems with warranty??
As it has to go directly back to HTC for repair...
As its a hardware fault I'm hoping not....
Cheers
Well, it all.depends on where you purchased it.
After 4 months, a repair is the most likely course of action.

Regardless of the possibility of your phone being rejected on the basis that the bootloader was unlocked, you should still give it a shot. Give it to HTC.
Did you drop it? If I'm right, its the digitizer that's messed up.

Give it to the Service Center. It could be a loose cable to the digitizer or something. Anyways there's a good chance they'll fix it, Good Luck.
Had the same issue with nexus s. Middle line dead. Was really sorry cause was a new phone. One day my gf made the bad and static electricity stuck on her fingers and after she moved the phone. Once she touched. It it made a sparkle. I swear the phone got rid of the dead line. Either I was lucky or maybe it just need it a push.

I had the same problem with my first HOX. I send it back and they replaced
This is a couple of pic from my HOX that is faulty....i know theres afew people here that having the same screen problem as me and maybe not....the screen is glitching and sometimes blank but touchscreen still responsive....cause my warranty is void and i cant have a replacement, i want to make a repair at any phone shop that can repair it or if im brave enough, i do it myself...the cost in HTC center is expensive...what i want to know is, is the problem here is from the LCD display only and not on any other hardware...cause there is a LCD display with Digitizer that sell is cheaper than HTC center...and original..if i replace it, can the problem be solve...is it can be done...tq
At a guess I would say it's an issue with the memory holding the framebuffer, but it could be a problem with the bus connecting it to the screen.
Hard to say if a screen replacement would fix it.
If a stock ROM doesn't fix it, it's a hardware fault. That's usually covered under consumer protection laws. HTC are not obliged to uphold (or even provide) a warranty, but the retailer is obliged to honour your statutory rights.
Where did you purchase it?

Sounds serious....i have flash everything to stock using the right RUU and relocked the bootloader...when sending it to repair, they claim that i have rooted the device and warranty is void...when i said the cost of repair, they said its about RM500( around 150 USD )..and this is a lot...
I purchased my HOX in my country MALAYSIA, in 2nd hand market...the problem occur about a month of using....i received in perfect condition and LOCKED bootloader...
i hope this help, cause i really wanna get my HOX fix....
even i have the same problem.......it began shortly after the JB update...........i bought my phone from mobile store......but the warranty is given by HTC and i am afraid i also have voided my warranty by opening it and unlocking the bootloader...what to do ??
What i want to know is what causing this problem..if its like what BenPope said....is there a way to fix it....manually and cheaply.....
I have restored my stock backup and relocked the bootloader after that I did a hard reset.....after that no screen problem till now.....try it

I don't know what your hox problem but I know it is hardware faulty cuz I read a thread in XDA bout the same problem like yours but the solution is send to HTC and get replacement with new unit. So that won't help you I believe as you void your warranty.
You could try searching in lowyat forum and look for shop that provide repairs for HOX. If you live in KL, there is one shop around pandan indah that could replace your lcd+digitizer for below rm200 i think.

Damn, that's bad...I was hoping its not...bad luck for me then...so I think repairing the motherboard only can be done in HTC center only...not other phone shops...how much can you think it will cost...
I have found out something....whenever the screen go wanky, when I flex the phone, the phone sometimes respond differently...sometimes ok sometimes make it worst...is this screen or motherboard problem I wonder....

Same problem here..brief history of my One X
1. Phone is rooted, installed AOSP 4.2.2
2. I broke the screen last February and had it replaced (the center said its genuine HTC screen which they ordered from their contact from HTC, I've no way to check though but the quality is as good as the old one so no complaints there)
3. About a month ago, screen wont diplay when I unlock/wake..its just black but it can receive messages, play music etc..I can even answer calls (blind swipe of the screen to answer)
4. I gave up, and bought a new phone as I dont want to spend another S$200 bucks or so to repair it (initial screen replacement cost me S$240).But, out of curiosity, I booted it up last month (charged it to retrieve some pictures) and the display showed. The next morning, again it wont turn off.. As I have it encased in an otterbox commuter, I decided, WTH just do drop tests see if the otterbox was really able to protect.
After a few drops, I decided to wake the screen..And yes again it worked LOL
Now this on and off thing happens a lot..sometimes I'm able to wake it sometimes not (after a long period of the display being off)..
Just now, it wont turn on again, and again I dropped it face down (for the lulz) and the screen turned on again
here it is now, charging
One thing i noticed though, the screen would corrupt and lock up (sometimes) when I rotate screen to landscape
PS. damn this HTC One ultrapixel camera sucks
Hello ppl I'm acuding today for your wise advices because I dont know what to do, recently the lower corners of my xperia play touch screen are not responding when i try to write messages or selecting something that is in that part of the screen I want to know if this problem is from the touch screen itself or to know if the problem comes from the flex, I send my phone with lots of technicians and 2 out of 4 told me that the flex was the problem and the other 2 told me that the touch was the problem idk what to do x_x
Since you sent your phone to 4 different technicians. I suggest to you into getting a new phone. Your touchscreen is more likely faulty at this point.

hello i've got my htc desire since it was released in romania 3 years ago and i can say that it was a good choise but now i have some strange problems on stock rom whit s-on, no root and no custom recovery and that happened a lot the problems are: the device is laggy(not a big problem but still), the lock screen it's not working properly i need no drag it down like a 100 times to unlock the screen, if i press on a radom app it opens an other ramdom app and a lot of strange things can someone help me?
Why not s-off, install a recovery, and flash a custom rom?
A fresh rom install will likely fix all the issues, and speed up the general performance of the phone.
If you dont want to do all that (not sure why) and stay stock, you can flash an ruu.
This would wipe the phone and reinstall the stock rom. If the touchscreen is still behaving weird, its probably a hardware problem.
Looks like ur digitizer is fooked, happened to mine. Opened random apps etc. Try typing this on ur dial pad, its htc diagnostic test -
*#*#3424#*#*
If it works then choose the screen test, touch test (something like that) and run ur finger all over the screen, it draws lines and ul be able to see if theres any fault with digitizer. (blank spaces) that way ul know for sure if it is ur digitizer. If there is no fault then like said by chromium try going s-off n flash another rom n see if problem is still there.

This can easily be fixed by using an optimized hboot and an a2sd script to move apps to an ext partition on your SD card. Anyways, since you've found that it's hardware you should fix that first. Good luck.
