Hello everyone! I'm new here, thanks for your attention about my topic.
I've just bought an USB OTG (On-the-Go) cable. I connected the Kindle Fire with a wireless mouse and a keyboard via USB OTG cable but nothing happened.
I tried Hashcode 4.2.2 Stock ROM, CyanogenMod 10.1 Stable and even gedeROM 1.7 (CM9) but my effort is zero.
Please help me to find another way to make KIndle Fire works with mouse and keyboard.
Thanks a lot!
Try a powered hub.

Thanks Lotek! I'm going to buy a Powered USB Hub.
(The fact is I don't have a PC or laptop, so I want to make my KF becoming a mini Android computer, lol. )
I am asking this for a friend, personally i don't know too much about the Fire. So anyway, will a micro usb memory stick work with the fire?
Here is an example of what i am asking about: http://www.amazon.com/Kingston-32GB-Traveler-MicroDuo-DTDUO/dp/B00IRUS7KU/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1406291920&sr=1-2&keywords=micro+usb+thumb+drive&dpPl=1
Kindle fire does not support USB host mode, used to connect to USB devices.
Hello I have hooked up a bluetooth v3 dongle to my kindle using a OTG cable. I ran some basic usb diagnostics and it is Buss 001 Device 003 ID 0a5c:2198
Is it possible to enable this dongle? Even if it cant be done from just swiping to "on" is there a way to enable it via terminal?
Any help would be appreciated as I dont want to get a new tablet just for this 1 app I need to run which needs bluetooth.
Hello everyone!
I need a way to connect to my Fire TV from my Nexus 7 via USB and ADB commands or by PC/Mac via Bluetooth.
Currently I'm stuck in a hotel and I forgot to bring my bluetooth remote.
The hotel requires a login to access their WIFI network. I'm stuck at the main screen on the Fire TV and I'm looking for a way to control it with what I have.
I have with me a USB to Micro USB cable with my Nexus 7 tablet (which unfortunately will not connect to my Macbook Pro).
Is there a way to run ADB commands on my Nexus 7 to process keyevent commands to control my Fire TV to connect to their WIFI network? From there I can then just use my tablet or phone to remote control the Fire TV. Or is there a way to remotely connect to the Fire TV via bluetooth from the laptop?
Unfortunately the closest tech store is around 150 miles so I'm kind of screwed for the next 6 days.
Any assistance will be most helpful and appreciated.
Thank you.

I am unable to get my K400 recognized by the Fire TV. Was working fine until i did an update to 51.1.6.0 - Not sure what changed but
i cant get this thing to pair. Any suggestions to troubleshoot. The keyboard works fine with my WIN machine and i have rebooted
my fire tv as well so anything else before i dump it.
Thanks !

Always has worked great for me and probably the most popular keyboard for AFTV. This might sound basic but you are using the unifying receiver, right? If so are you using a hub? Maybe the hub is the issue...unfortunately if it is you'll probably want a new one since most people use a USB drive and a keyboard.
Not sure what u mean by unifying receiver, but i plug the Logitech usb into the back of the Fire tv usb port. what am i doing wrong guys.
Does it need anything once u plug in.. i ve done re-start etc but still the same.
Try plugging in just a regular wired USB keyboard and see if that works. Maybe there's something wrong with your USB port.

I replied to an earler thread that I run into this issue on occasion using a wireless keyboard with the Fire TV. Disconnecting and reconnecting the Fire TV power cord from the wall outlet solves it for me.

You probably already tried this but if you have usb debugging enabled in settings it won't recognize any usb devices; i.e. k400. Make sure usb debugging is off.

Not the case as I have never enabled USB Debugging. Its just that I lose the usb keyboard for some reason and have to resort to the procedure outlined earlier to get it to work. My Fire TV is rooted and that could be a possible reason.
Awesome.. that was it. Cant Thank you enough.
