USB Bluetooth Kindle Fire Kitkat - Kindle Fire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello I have hooked up a bluetooth v3 dongle to my kindle using a OTG cable. I ran some basic usb diagnostics and it is Buss 001 Device 003 ID 0a5c:2198
Is it possible to enable this dongle? Even if it cant be done from just swiping to "on" is there a way to enable it via terminal?
Any help would be appreciated as I dont want to get a new tablet just for this 1 app I need to run which needs bluetooth.

USB wireless keyboard/mouse using wifi

Well I've been searching for a while trying to connect the S3 as a laptop using MHL+USB OTG, but seems it is not possible or simply hard enough to consider other options. Several options have been considered:
1- Using BT keyboard/mouse is not always suitable since most of us use 2.4Ghz USB keyboard/mouse and it does not consider connecting HDD or other stuff.
2- I found an application that allows you to use your keyboard/mouse connected to your PC to control the phone, "takecontrol", take a look here:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...NvbS5kcm9pZGNvbnRyb2wudGFrZWNvbnRyb2xsaXRlIl0.
Using this app you could also share an HDD connected to that PC solving one of the previous problem BT has.
But this configuration forces you to have your computer switched on... a bit useless if what you want is to connect the S3 as a PC instead of using an actual one.
3- After this I thought of using a wifi USB HUB, but hey! most of routers have USB ports, so why don't we use them instead of buying a new equipment? Then I realised it should work fine for sharing contents from a USB HDD but for USB wireless mouse/keyboard...
(those of you who have a BT mouse/keyboard but don't know how to connect the USB HDD to get "full" PC experience with the S3/S2/Note..., maybe it's still interesting this option)
So my question is if it is possible to connect a USB wireless mouse/keyboard plugging it to a wifi USB HUB. Maybe with an android app? what do you think guys?
I'm still thinkin about this.
Would be possible to use a wireless USB Hub, via wifi or BT?

[Q] Connect Kindle Fire HD to a 3G USB STICK? possible?

Hi guys,
Wanted to ask you guys, Is there ANY way i could connect a 3G USB stick to my kindle fire HD
It could be possible with a OTG cable and a ROM that supports OTG, but the actual 3G dongle might require drivers that work on Windows, Mac or Linux, but not on Android. So I couldn't say for sure. I'm not sure if it's been done before either.

OTG hardware in the fire stick?

Does anyone know if the Amazon fire TV stick has the OTG compatible hardware. I bought a Y OTG cable and it doesn't work . I was going to do a hardware root and see if I could get it working. But if doesn't even have the compatible hardware i'm not going to bother.
No one has been able to get anything working. I don't know whether it has the hardware or not, but I'm kind of doubting it, or it's not enabled at all in the OS.
I have looked at the PCB and it looks like only power is hooked up to the port the rest look grounded so there won't be any USB stuff for it

That is very sneaky of them. I don't understand why they are intentionally crippling their hardware...

any updates on using otg cables with the stick?
if the hardware is ready (data has to be wired, i think?), the host mode would be only software dependent?

It's possible, but it's also pointless.
Connecting to your Fire TV stick is possible without using the cable, just by using adb.
ie: adb connect 192.168.0.103 (ip address of your Fire Stick)

Then you didn't get the point. We are talking about using USB-OTG in this thread.
What should be pointless in thinking about that?!
I think everybody would like to connect a USB key to the AFTVS to watch some movies from that USB key :good:

[Q] Need to connect to FTV from Nexus 7 via USB or PC/Mac via Bluetooth (if possible)

Hello everyone!
I need a way to connect to my Fire TV from my Nexus 7 via USB and ADB commands or by PC/Mac via Bluetooth.
Currently I'm stuck in a hotel and I forgot to bring my bluetooth remote.
The hotel requires a login to access their WIFI network. I'm stuck at the main screen on the Fire TV and I'm looking for a way to control it with what I have.
I have with me a USB to Micro USB cable with my Nexus 7 tablet (which unfortunately will not connect to my Macbook Pro).
Is there a way to run ADB commands on my Nexus 7 to process keyevent commands to control my Fire TV to connect to their WIFI network? From there I can then just use my tablet or phone to remote control the Fire TV. Or is there a way to remotely connect to the Fire TV via bluetooth from the laptop?
Unfortunately the closest tech store is around 150 miles so I'm kind of screwed for the next 6 days.
Any assistance will be most helpful and appreciated.
Thank you.

Always has worked great for me and probably the most popular keyboard for AFTV. This might sound basic but you are using the unifying receiver, right? If so are you using a hub? Maybe the hub is the issue...unfortunately if it is you'll probably want a new one since most people use a USB drive and a keyboard.
Not sure what u mean by unifying receiver, but i plug the Logitech usb into the back of the Fire tv usb port. what am i doing wrong guys.
Does it need anything once u plug in.. i ve done re-start etc but still the same.
Try plugging in just a regular wired USB keyboard and see if that works. Maybe there's something wrong with your USB port.

I replied to an earler thread that I run into this issue on occasion using a wireless keyboard with the Fire TV. Disconnecting and reconnecting the Fire TV power cord from the wall outlet solves it for me.

You probably already tried this but if you have usb debugging enabled in settings it won't recognize any usb devices; i.e. k400. Make sure usb debugging is off.

Not the case as I have never enabled USB Debugging. Its just that I lose the usb keyboard for some reason and have to resort to the procedure outlined earlier to get it to work. My Fire TV is rooted and that could be a possible reason.
Awesome.. that was it. Cant Thank you enough.
