New antutu bench marks! - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note II

Hey guys so on the new antutu bench marks what are the devices that are getting like 25000? And they are not even overclocked? I have my note 2 overclocked to 1.9 ghz and my best so far is 20092

what kernel goes up to 1.9 ghz?

i am running jedi x4 rom with bulletkernal : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1982322

18073 stock here. 20092 overclocked seems reasonable.

it does but if you compare it to the other scores the tops are like around 25000 and at 1.5 ghz but doesnt say what devices

It's the Chinese only Xiaomi Mi2. Google it.

my antutu shows the T899 only going up to around your score. the 25000 scores are all Mi2's.

it's the Xiaomi Mi2. I would have gotten one of those if I hadn't fallen in love with the huge screen on the note 2.
Mi2 has S4 pro chip & 2GB RAM- it definitely is more powerful than the note 2. note2's awesome screen still makes it a more enjoyable experience IMO though.

everything else sucks? the only thing on it that sucks is no expandable storage (and screen size, but that's 100% personal preference). lack of SD card is the only thing that sucks about the Mi2- otherwise it's an amazing phone.

MIUI is great- better than touchwiz for sure. better than iOS too. I'd very happily use MIUI on my note 2 if they could work multi-screen support into it. battery is replaceable and they sell a 3100mAh version for it. camera I have not tried so I can't say.

It isnt better than touchwiz on this phone...I dont think miui has spen support, multiview or anything like that

shouldn't be hard to bake those features into MIUI at all. and there's nothing besides that that makes touchwiz better IMO.

T989 Quadrant scores

I have seen the videos showing 3800 scores. I bought 2 of these today and i can not get above 2700. Anyone have any suggestions?
My first two were 3300, third time 2800.

Quadrant doesn't matter!
its the GPU on our dual core snapdragons that lag behind the other exynous cpu-equipped sgs2 variants. Unless you're a hardcore gamer these numbers are meaningless. Other than that this phone does remarkably well in real world use.

Yes, I got mine yesterday and figured out how to get past 3800. No mod/tweeks needed.
Proof is in the attachment.
Reboot phone -> end all processes -> Run Quadrant(4 - 5 times) generally the 4th or 5th one is the highest score.
I start from 3200-3300 and end up between 3700-3800.
I am also sure that with mods and better overclock you can possibly hit 4.5k

Asynchronous that's why once someone gets the cores to take on task together instead of acting as an individual cpu you should get more stable quadrant scores. Quadrant does not if I'm correct no the difference between two cores or 1 core.

Just got one of these phones as well, unfortunately, I feel like home screen swipes with all alternatives and touch wiz are really laggy. Anyone else experiencing this? The scroll just seems to get jerky when you swipe. Really annoying.

Why are my Quadrant tests getting around 1400??

Any idea? Most reviews i saw for the GNex shows it getting 1700-2000+.
Meaningless or not, i wanna know why it's so much less.

I checked it right when I got the phone for the hell of it and got around the same number. The only thing I care about is if it will lag with daily use. If it doesn't I don't care if it has half a core and 1 byte of ram.
Quadrant scores are meaningless and don't give any indication of how the phone performs in real world use.
My old Galaxy S2 scored 4000+ in quadrant but does it feel 3 times faster than my Nexus definitely no!
Again, I don't care about what the test actually means but why are our scores so much lower on the same device compared to the reviews show? What is different and why? It leads me to believe that something is wrong.
I freaked too, but I think its bs. If you install System Monitor you can watch both CPU cores in action. Also, other bench tests clearly show that you're getting dual core performance. I think Quadrant will need an update.

I get around 1400+ as well in quadrant and I don't think there is anything wrong as when I first got my GS2 my scores where lower than what was seen online from reviewers as well.
Don't forget they probably had a phone with no extra apps on it or just the bare minimum which could also affect the scores.

Someone correct me if I am wrong about quadrant standard not seeing both cores?

[Q] Extremely low quadrant score. What do i do?

Okay, so the other day, i ran quadrant on my gs2 against my brohters gs4g and i got 3259 and my brother got 938. I tried again today, and i got 1208 and the gs4g got 1190. i ran the test seversl times and the same result, nothing more than 1300. I didn't change anything from the first time i ran the test, so is my phone messed up? Quadrant doesnt go well with Dual Core Snapdragon Processors. I've been getting 2000 each time a ran it. Try ANTUTU Benchmark and see what you get.
Quandrant doesnt define a phone of how great your phone is.
Or CF bench works well!

Quadrant is a horribly outdated benchmark, don't rely on it ever.

I'll take what AnTuTu Benchmark gave me.. Listed me at 6327... Just over the Nexus ;-)
Main thing that brought me down as my stupid SD card because I have some generic piece of junk --- EDIT: Just ran it against the internal SD, and I got 6577. Even above the Galaxy Note ;-)
I know that quadrant is not optimized for dual core, but that doesnt explain why i was getting 3000+ and it just dropped to less than 1000

These threads get so old. Does everything work on your phone? Is it smooth and responsive? Then who cares what some outdated benchmark says. You are the benchmark.
I changed the rom on my friend's mytouch 4g and he scored 3246 on miui oc to 1.6 ghz lagfree, It beat my gs2 running zombie oc to 1.72 ghz lagfree 2976 i dont think quadrant is an accurate benchmark at all, so markus is right, YOU are the benchmark.

High benchmark, what set up?

I eventually ran a benchmark on my CarbonROM install on my Sprint Galaxy Nexus, clocked at a max of 1.6
But, I saw that my device compared to others is just super super low, I don't have the numbers on me as I don't have my phone, but if you're one of those people who have a high benchmark score, what's your setup?
I know it's said that benchmarks aren't important, but they at least have to mean something with performance.
So, what are you running?
Try flashing franco.Kernel. Makes a huge difference!
Before franco: 2204
After franco: 2932 (Quadrant Standard)
ROM: PACman ROM, 1.2 GHz
Seriously, there should be a thread stickied for the bench freaks, all in the same place. *sigh*

See, the thing is, benchmarks really do mean nothing. Benchmarks don't affect how well your device performs. If it runs fast, it runs fast-- you don't need the benchmark to know that.

Yeah. Because being able to crunch 110,000,000 triangles vs 90,000,000 has real world implications.
Yay! It's been a while since we've had a thread to remind us how useless benchmarks are and offer us all an opportunity to debate about it, yet again.:good:
I make my words what Chainfire said, but globaly.
If you trust benchmark results, you'll know that running naked in the garden for 5mins will affects performance by 20%
Neat, alright.
So absolutely nothing?
That really doesn't make any sense to me. Those 90,000,000 triangles being processed will at least show me how well it will do in a game, to a degree, right?
Not in any way you could actually notice. That was also an extreme hyperbole as far as differences go. To be totally honest, the only real value of benchmarks is stress testing an OC but even then there are better ways.

Benchmarking weirdness

I just want to know if anyome can explain why when running antutu benchmarks I cant even get scores equal to the score the app says I should be getting for this phone let alone better ones. Infact I often get much worse scores not even close to what it says I should be getting. Even more so Im running custom rom with overclocked kernel and its just sad. When u look to see what your device other are gettibg score wise there is like a major difference. I get like 10,000 to like 14,000. Iv tried using set cpu to make it run better with no success. And I tried using the app that came with the kernel to make it better by changing some settings and still nothing. It seems like nothibg I do can even get me scores that the phone should get as an average let alone better ones even when overclocked and such.
Sent from my Note II
Funny you should post this...
I was angonizing over my scores a month or so ago, and was not getting scores even close to what I expected.
The tests made me so mad I gave up and went stock...LOL
Benchmarks are affected by soooooo many variables within the OS, they are often considered eye wash for speed related results.
The rom you run, the kernel, modem, background processing, data, wifi....blah blah blah....LOL
You see where I'm going with this ??
Stock TW based builds always run the best for me, and give the best scores...(remember, they dont mean much really).....really
If your device runs well, gets good battery life, and you are happy with the choice in roms you have made, then dont worry about antutu, or anything else.
Raw scores are called raw for a reason, as they are base estimates of a perceived result.
True testing of a device must be done under a set of rules only a factory can measure.....IMHO, and unless the devices being tested are paired "EXACTLY" the same, then the comparisons are flawed anyway......at least thats how i see it.....g
I understand that and I know how it affects but its more of a I do notice when my phone is quick or not and the scores usually reflect that. When I had my optimus g with it running alot more crap I was gettibg betyer scores and it wasnt overclocked and all that it was just stock. So I really believe that it should be running better than its showing leaving me to believe that there is somethibg wrong with the kernel or something. I have done this with quite a few devices and there usualky a noticeable difference from stock to overclocked scores. But with this phone seems like it dosent show on this phone.
Sent from my Note II
Very possible. ..
Most reports for this quad core tell us that overclocking takes the device a bit backward in speed and performance.
I overclocked for a few weeks, and saw no appreciable performance gains.
The end result for me was a stock variant rom and a stock kernel.
I then gained transition speeds with launcher changes.
Nova launcher, with the transition speeds set to maximum is quite impressive. And graphical transitions were running best at stock speeds.
I might get flamed for this, but I would honestly say that with minor UI adjustment, and stock kernels, this device needs very little if any real change at all to achieve the best performance.
Mileage will vary, but I'm staying rooted stock with a custom launcher.
Everything else seems to drag this device down. ..g
My real main issie is with gaming on the decice I notice glitching and slowness quite often and I just feel jipped. It is quad core 2gb of ram why is it so ****. I had the optimus g and it was amazing I only went to this phone for the screen size.

It's been said that our note 2 is a bit lacking with the current GPU...although, a GPU overclock may help you the most, while leaving the CPU alone.
I've not tried any GPU modifications, unless the Roms I've used included them without my knowledge....g
I did try and overclock the gpu and I get vaired results I havent tried playing any of my graphically intense games yet so im not sure but I believe it may have slightly helped. Its too bad I had thought that the mali chip was better than the 330 thats in most high end phones now.

Oh yes iv read plenty about the g pro and it does sound nice iv thought about trying to trade the note for it. But I then remember the reasons I wanted the note instead. To be honest benckmarks do matter but only if you really understand them and know how to use them. Im not just someone who sees **** score or awesome scores an decides anything. But the scores do matter. If u took a droid x and ran benchmarks and got **** scores and then ran this not you would see a difference. They matter just if you choose to see it. I know many many people who try and try to convince others that benchmarks dont matter when all a benckmark is is a test of the hardware and if u use the same program on different devices you will note the different qualitys in the scores. Showing you the pieces of hardware or software mostky hardware that is better or worse. Like with the mali vs the 330. Or the quad s4 vs I forget what is in this device. Or an amd vs a intel. They show what does what best. If you know what you are doing.
Sent from my Note II
I don't believe in benchmarks. I can run antutu and get xyz score, then run it again 10 seconds later and get abc score, then run it again 10 seconds late and lmn score, all to varying degrees. It's a gimmick.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk 2
If the scores vary drastically its probably because of the background services and apps doing things. Sometimes there is less sometimes more. U either take that into account or you do it with a fresh phone with nothibg on it. Including no google account. Just sideload the app and then run the test and do it a few times they should be more similar.
Sent from my Note II
Regardless of scores. .. and considering the drastically different user habits, I do believe Samsung found excellent balance in both form and function with this device.
To add more power would kill battery. And drive the device size even larger.
I do feel they have a great balance here.
The note3 should become an absolute power phone if they build from this base....IMHO....g
