Hello guys!
Please help me out! This is my first thread here
Well, Mine's, obviously, an HTC Desire HD
Well, this is my first time with an htc, before this it was motorola(i.e EASY)
So I used aahk to downgrade to froyo, which btw, was a total success!
And then I used option 1 to S-off and root, and then I'm stuck with the htc logo..
However I'm able to get to H-Boot and CWM, although I think there must have been some error while it happened...
Now, I can't say I haven't been messing around or anything, but one for sure, I've been doing things like factory reset and wiping dalvik, things like that
Please I hope you guys are still out there, with this device...
Even trying to return to s-on and all that seems to fail..
Please put me in the light over here
I'd be grateful
Also, If you're kind enough to help me out personally, email me @ashindnile (gmail.com)
I live in Argentina, so if you're around, I'll owe you a beer
Ciao!!!
Thank you,
Ashton

You have not downgraded to froyo. The Kit does not do that, or you would be asking for help to fix your bootloader.
Anyway, if you are S-OFF and have CWM, you can do what guy tells you or do what the effen manual and re run the hack kit from the white screen.

I need the whole session to see what is going on. That only does not help at all. Anyway, you can try using a different sdcard as your seems to be corrupted to work as a goldcard.

You are S-OFF with no recovery. I remember that there's a section in glevitan's guide, bottom of page 8 or 9, that is labeled S-OFF with no recovery. I would recommend starting there.

Hello all. I am a complete novice at Android phones. I have a Desire HD which I bought from a friend about 18 months ago who had installed CyanogenMod on the phone. I am now moving to Giffgaff and need to unlock the phone. I got an unlock code based on the IMEI and when I enter it, despite it saying network lock successful, the sim continues as unregistered and each time I reset the phone it asks me for the Network Unlock code again. I am told it is because of Cyanogen and I need to go back to the start.
Here is all the info I have:
Android Version : 2.3.7
Kernel Version : [email protected] #1
Mod Version : CyanogenMod 7.1.0-DesireHD
Build Number: GWK74
I have tried to follow a number of guides on this site but something always goes wrong and if I am honest I don't really get what I'm doing. I downloaded an .exe from StockRoms and that looked like it was going well but then died at the end with no specific errors.
Can anybody point me in the right directions as to how to achieve this?
Thanks!

Boot in hboot and find it out....power off the device and then boot by pressing power + volume down
Sorry I could have googled how to do that before posting - my apologies!
It says this:
ACE PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-2.00.0027
MICROP-0438
RADIO-26.14.04.28_M
eMMC-boot
Am guessing this means I am not S-OFF?
I did see this screen before when I tried to use the Simlock feature. It says this when runs:
FAT32 init OK
OPEN MCCMNC file fail
Open CID file fail
Process done, reboot device?
Of course the process is not done.

With an unlocked bootloader you won't be able to flash a RUU. Besides you need a RUU for your device and not any RUU. If not, you will need a goldcard.

Is it possible to lock my bootloader? Is that a stupid question?
I have found the "right" RUU here:

Is there anything I need to do to make this work? S-OFF maybe?

Yes, it is possible to lock your bootloader. S-Off is no longer available; AAHK, the tool to get it, was retired this morning.
Thanks all, I sense that this could be tricky overall.
Perhaps a different approach is needed - is there another way to Sim Unlock the phone?

Hello,
I rooted and s-off my dhd by using aahk approx one year ago. Everything fine and I testet a lot of roms.
Now I like to upgrade the radio and read that a eng-off is also necesarry. I try to find out if my device already eng.off. But I couldn't.
Did anyone know if the device is also eng-off after using aahk ? Or does anyone know another way to find out ?
Thanks !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

S_OFF tool recommendation
Hey, I had run the ACE kit, but somehow put the S back ON (it's a mystery inside an enigma!), and now just want to run an S_OFF tool: my kernel is the 3.0.62_JellyTime_R5-g8e08b6e-dirty ... the tools in the fora all seem to have been specific to Fro/GB, so I need to ask which one is best to run, given my kernel?
And 4.2.1
DHDa9191
Like our original poster, I too want to flash a new radio to get RAW POWER on a legacy slate. Thanks for your help.

S-Off is not an option unless you are an expert. AAHK, the tool used to get it, was retired earlier this week. Root and custom ROMs are still possible with an unlocked bootloader, but getting S-Off is no longer a simple procedure.

I don't mind getting dirty - but is gfreev.2 alright to roll with given my kernel? it worked the first time, in the kit, but I don't need the whole ACE, just need to smack the sec back out of the device if you have input on the compatibility of gfree v.2 given the updated kernel, please
I have no idea what gfree is...what is it?

currently I have Radio Radio_12.56.60.25_26.10.04.03_M on my DHD.
And like to flash 12.65.60.29_26.14.04.28_M or 12.68.60.29U_26.16.04.09
As far as I understand the first variant is the last official radio and sencond one is newest but from unknown source

Compared to others my HBOOT is as old as it can be , but it's not radio or rom so if it doesn't do anything else than booting the phone I really don't care
P.S. If newer version is booting the phone 3-5 seconds faster, that would be a reason for update

I'd like to point out for you that the op boot loader is already fully unlocked unlike htcdev unlock which have big restrictions ie no kernel flashing, from memory you can't mount system as rw (could be wrong as I forgot, long time ago). No splash screen changing unless you have the skills to s-off your htcdev.
Please read op again carefully and find out what .85 and eng s-off means.
Edit oh you said boot loader nothing important hahaha your funny

What i meant was that For the average already-rooted user, there aren't any important reasons of Consequence to update it except if you always want the newest.
Also your post was quite rude even if you may have more Knowledge about HBoot.

No, not rude just informing you of your miss information.
I would not want people who have hboot 0.85 and eng off, updating to 2.029 and loosing the advantage of eng boot loader.
Edit - Actually I read my post again and I can't see how it can be rude, I even said "please"
