Location works in cyanogenmod roms so is there a way to get it to work on jandycane, an aosp Rom?
You have to move to CM to get the location feature!
I'm pretty sure there was a way of doing it, but thanks.

I was wondering if its possible to pull the CM settings from CM 6 and use it in another rom (obviously not a stock sense based rom). I know there is an apk in /system named CM parts which apparently has all the settings, but just pulling the apk and putting it in /system on new rom doesnt work. and no, im not trying to rip off the settings to use in a rom build to release. strictly personal use.
I wish, give it a try, that's what nandroid is for
personally though if you using ASOP. CM is the only way to go...
What is the current state of CM based roms stability with GPS? The last time I ran CM 7.2 RC1 the GPS would turn off as soon as the screen went off so I went back to MIUI. I'm getting bored of MIUI and need something new so I want to switch back to a CM or CM based ROM but need the GPS to work. Just curious if the AGPS script would help this or if it's an ongoing issue.
well, i'm running cm7 rc2, had none of those problems with gps, works fine.
In some roms, developers put in a special mms.apk that has an option at the top of the settings called something like "Appearance Settings" that allows you to change pretty much all of the colors in the app, and add bubbles to the conversations.
I know one rom that had this was PACman rom 4.1.2. Once it went to 4.2.1 it was gone.
I tried the one from this ROM - Vanilla Rootbox 4.2.2. Since it and the rom I am using are both 4.2.2 I figured it would work, but it just crashes at startup.
I'm using the latest CM10.1 4.2.2. Does a compatible version of this exist out there? And if not yet, is there a thread or something that I can keep checking on its development? I simply don't even know the name of it, even though I have searched quite a bit for it.
Thanks
Any sense based rom i flash is fine. some AOSP roms I flash are fine (slim, PA, Task650's aokp) but when I flash CM based rom (cm11 and liquidsmooth tested), some touchscreen interactions are in the wrong place. e.g. swiping from page to page in the app drawer opens apps, tapping an icon pulls down the notification shade, etc. Anyone else seeing this?
Update: Now GPE roms are doing the same thing. previously these roms worked fine. any help would be great.
Im having similar problems on my phone. Anybody have any idea whats going on?
I flashed PA ROM and can't get location services to work at all. With Unsense Six ROM it works fine...anyone else with this problem?

With AOSP roms, you'll need to have location set to "high" on a stock rom before switching to PA or CM or any other AOSP rom. This might be the cause for location failure. Please flash a stock rom or a nandrod of a sense rom, set GPS to high, then flash any AOSP based rom.
Thanks!

Thanks! That worked like a charm...turned location services on high with my unsense six rom and then flashed the Paranoid rom....location services work like a champ now! Now to get Viper audio working and I'm set...
Thanks again!
