Hi..
i have some questions about gettning gps working on Paranoid Android 2.53.. is there any ways or some one here who knows if a universal boot.img works with PA rom and hboot 1.31 with working GPS? With some CM10 roms are GPS working but why not do a universal boot.img what works with all CM/AKOP roms?
Im tierd of sense because games are very laggy but everthing els are super fast!
I'm open to suggestions if anyone wants to share information of any good solid ROM with working GPS.
This is not just for me, many others have request a CM10/AKOP rom that are stable with working GPS so!
Im happy if any one here could share some good links or help for this thread.
I think TripnDroids CM10 works on latest hboot with working gps.

I think that rom get reboots and get hot. But does that have something to do with the kernel?
Tell everyone which Rom you're running and what you do or don't like about it. I figured the thread would be nice for people looking for roms to try and hear personal experiences with them instead of just a description.
I tried pacman last night but screwed something up (there is an insane amount of options) and went back to stock for now. I know how to change what I did no so I'll probably reflash later. Happy flashing!!
Nothing yet, but definitely Venom/Viper when available for Verizon One. I had the HTC One for a bit and was able to try many. This one just plain out rocks. You can see a thread about it just a few down from this. Watch the video about it as well. So many mods, tweaks etc and just plain out runs...
I'm currently running v2 of hawknest ' EclipticONE. It is based off the stock rom so it runs 4.2.2 and sense 5 with tweaks. It is *inverted sense*. I love it there because of the dark colors of everything. It is very stable with only slight issues so far with the play store but nothing that can't be fixed!

Currently running CM10.2 and I like it a lot. I've used AOSP on my previous 3 smartphones. Everything is working great for me except I cannot get a GPS lock whatsoever. The fix according to some forum posts would be to flash a Sense ROM to get a lock and reflash CM. I'm going to flash GPE to play around and see how that is.
running CM10.2 until Liquid can gett calls working on that rom. I much prefer liquid (a couple more tweaks) but I need my phone to be a phone

I really like some of the features from Paranoid, and this is the closest to getting them. Plus I have a soft spot for the mix type of Roms, having a similar one on my HP Touchpad.
I just installed and am setting up VanirAOSP. So far, so good. I tried CM 10.2 yesterday but it was a little flaky. I'm looking forward to trying Venom.
Also running EclipticONE. Love the inverted sense and I really wanted to keep the stock camera since I'm crazy about the zoe feature. Using Apex Launcher anyway so blinkfeed is not an issue for me. The ROM has been zippy and bug free.
VanirAOSP because it has PIE, Halo, and IR blaster support. I absolutely love this ROM. Plus, Sonic is the dev behind it and he is quite awesome!

I flashed that last night and titanium didn't want to restore my apps for some reason. I'll flash it again when I have more time to mess with it. Great posts people!!
I'm running BoneStock v1.1 by andybones. Cuz I'm cool like that. I tend to flash Roms like a madman but BoneStock is my daily driver.

You have to change the backup folder first in Settings > General > Preferences to /storage/sdcard0/TitaniumBackup.

Hmm. They restored fine on pacman last night. Any idea why it would restore on pacman and not vanir?

No clue. Maybe because Vanir is built off AOSP while PAC is built off CM? That's a stretch though.
I'm running Vanir at the moment. Very simple, great customization options and everything works well without any major hitches.
Looking forward to trying out Carbon soon; loved the ROM on my DNA and would love to see how it fares on the One.

Titanium backed up fine on stock ROM, and Bonestock, but also would not backup on Vanir's ROM for me either.

Vanir is going to be different than stock ROM and Bonestock in regards to TiBu. Vanir is on 4.3 AND it is built off AOSP. You need to change the backup folder for those ROMs otherwise it will not work. I just cant remember if changing the backup folder is because of 4.3 or because its built off AOSP. Its one of those (or both).
As I posted in the CM10 thread:
FYI - I learned that there's an issue with restoring apps with Titanium Backup and Android 4.3. You have to change your backup location to: /storage/emulated/legacy/TitaniumBackup from /storage/emulated/0/TitaniumBackup otherwise your restore will get stuck at 0%.

Dear friends,
I have flashed resurrection remix 5 on my N7100.But i have battery drain and Bluetooth earphone connection problems. Can i fix theese by installing original kernel on this custom rom?may them work togehter without any problems? Thanks.
I don't think so... since RRemix is not sammy based but AOKP/AOSP... so you will need to find another custom kernel.

i dont have these issues with RR..!!
IF u want 100% stability try a touchwiz based rom.. That is your best bet..!!
Omni rom if you want to try a kitkat rom..!
I always use agni kernel..!

I flashed Omnirom 4.4 Kitkat.Everything is ok exept bluetooth. There is a adaptation problem. And when i try to call or answer a call, phone freezes and i have to reboot it.So can i fix the problem by flashing AGNI kernel?I think it has two versions as Pure Stock and Pure CM.What is the difference between them, and which one do you advice me to flash?

of course Pure CM.. Agni Pure Stock is for Stock based touchwiz ROM..
if problem still there, then maybe its a bug from the ROM itself..
I've always flashed Sense ROMs but have always pondered flashing an ASOP or Google Edition ROM. I just really never use Zoe, so I'm thinking the camera fuctions won't be missed to badly. With that said, can anybody recommend a ROM to flash? I weigh stability over options, because I can always use Xposed to get most options that I want. Thanks for the feedback!

Each rom offers different things, best bet is to nandroid and try them one by one.
Most stable stock versions
bucks AOSP
Joelz GPE
Santod040 GPE
Santod040 GPE offers added tweaks on top of GPE
Santod040 Liquid offers tweaks on top of CM code
Flyhalf CM build is pretty good but sometimes when on nightlys things break.

I've never tried bucks, or heard of it actually, but I really liked CM 11 when I used it for a while. I've heard about it enough that I figured it would be one of the most stable non-stock roms and it seemed to mostly live up to the reputation, but I switched back to stock just for the sake of using the beats chip since it is closed source to sense and GPE based roms. If you can live without that, I'd go with CM because that's what I would be doing.

I actually offer two versions...
One is completely stock, and one has some mods and Xposed included.

I would also recommend JoelZ. I just updated to his latest ROM and it's solid as a rock. I'm having 1 problem right now but it isn't related specifically to his ROM, and only occurs to select users for whatever reason.

I've flashed Liquid. That is an awesome ROM. Only problem is I stream music anytime I'm driving and the bluetooth skips. Seems to be a problem that affects some but not all users of the ROM. Other than that though, it looks like a great ROM.
I'm now trying to flash a GPE ROM. I've tried both of Santod's and Joelz and after I flash them I have no cell service. If I go to about phone, it shows baseband as unknown. I've never had that issue. I'm flashing with TWRP 2.7.1.1 and my radio version is 1.13.41.0421. What am I doing wrong here?

That's the current radio, but have you flashed the full kitkat firmware or were you on it prior to unlocking?
If you are on the latest m7vzw firmware, you should not have that type of issue.
You'll also wanna make sure you are wiping prior to flashing, if you aren't.
Not sure what else to suggest, as data and calls are all working fine on tiKtaK.

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah I always wipe both caches, data, and system 3 times before I flash a ROM. I figured it wasn't the ROM but something on my end instead. I assume I just flash version 4.10.605.3? Thanks again for the help!

Thanks for the help. I installed the new firmware and have my cell service back. I flashed your tiktak GPE ROM with the editions and so far I've been really impressed!
I am "new" here, so for start warm Hello to everyone In fact I registered here 4 years ago but I used to be only reader until now.
I have a LG G3 d855, and after using CM on Desire Z many years ago and after Nexus 4 I knew from the begining that I want only AOSP based ROM. So I rooted phone, installed TWRP then Lolli-based Xenon HD and now - Euphoria. The latter one seems to be very slightly slower than former one, but more stable. But one thing came to my mind and I am not sure. What is your experience with various AOSP based ROMs? Is it worth to try another one than these two mentioned here? Perhaps I should go with pure CM 12.1, which above ROMs are based on? Just which of AOSP ROMs is the most stable and fast for you? Are there any really pure AOSP 5.1.1. ROMs in "stable" version for G3? I couldn't find one... Any suggestions are welcome.
Xenon HD is AOSP based and i use it ATM. It's stable for me and i use experimental build. I also tried Slim Minux build, wich is also AOSP based but it was kinda slower for me. Euphoria OS is CM based i think. And you do have a pure AOSP rom in android dev section, just look a little harder next time. And, as always, Google is your friend.
F-AOSP suits my taste. Absolutely smooth and battery friendly (stock aosp kernel). But there aren't many features like CM for this is based on pure AOSP. Note that this rom is very stable and proximity works very well.
CM based are cool and packed with features, but I found our AOSP versions tend to be a little smoother, eve if you have to exchange some features for performance. F-AOSP is leading in performance for me, but since I take a lot of pictures... well... you can guess. :|

I had a small problem with double screen tap wakeup with Xenon, so I gave Euphoria a shot I thought Xenon was somewhat CM based too?

F-AOSP is in "testing" stage as I could see, but it is great to hear from you that it is very stable Thanks, I'll give it a try. Usually I don't need to many gimmicks in OS, Android i its pure form is very mature and usable now.

Whenever I plan to take good photos, I take my "serious" camera with me, so using somewhat limited Google Camera app is not a problem for me. And another voice for F-AOSP, thanks!
Definetly, F-AOSP deserves a handful of votes. It's vanilla AOSP, very stable and the animations don't lag like CM Roms do.
Yup I'm using the F-AOSP by kjjjnob. Stable and would definitely recommend to other users.
Any one knows when updating the custom rom, do you have to wipe everything again or just clear cache ?
What is the proper procedure to update ?
I do not want to reinstall all my apps again

If you REALLY do not want your apps to dissapear, try flashing a custom rom and wipe cache and dalvik cache only. If you are coming from Stock and want to migrate ti AOSP, pretty sure you need to wipe data and not just the cache. Keep in mind that clearing the cache only will cause problems like FC or overheating. I suggest you use Titanium Backup.
Hit the thanks button if I helped you.

Thanks for the advice!
I've tried to update the custom rom and only wiping cache and dalvik cache but android errors are popping up.
Perhaps I'll try backing up my apps first before wiping everything else.
Thankfully I made a backup at recovery of my rom first.

After a first day with F-AOSP I can only confirm your experience! Very fast, reliable and stable. I just used Open Gapps instead of suggested packet. The only small glitch I've noticed were web and calendar applications not conforming to material design, but I guess it is common thing for AOSP and I easily have fixed it with appropriate apps from google play.

I'm guessing F-AOSP brings AOSP apps, so flashing a stock google package (from opengapp) would replace the aosp components with google ones

Yes, it seems so. Both browser and calendar are part of AOSP ROM, but I've installed mini version of GAPPS, so only calendar gets replaced when you install newer version from Google Play. Chrome from Google Play was installed besides AOSP browser. This is somewhat a plus for CM based ROMs, where at least browser has more modern, material UI.
