Hey, Im coming from a CDMA TP1 and Now of course have a Tmobile TP2. Ive been holding off on flashing as Ive been waiting for the Official 6.5 to come out, But the more research I do the less I feel Tmobile will get one anytime soon, Please correct me if Im wrong!
SO Ive decided to take the plunge again and Flash this bad boy, Now coming from a tp1 Ive flashed my fair share and enjoy it very Much, except one thing, bugs, There always seems to be many bugs in Custom roms and fixes are always being made. I want a lite 6.5 rom that has the least amount of bugs, I have plenty cab files to get it how I want but once again I want a rom with the least bugs, great battery and a eyecandy dont matter.
So, Whats the best Tmobile TP2 rom out right now in your opinion??????
To tell you the truth all is great! All is the same, but just look different in visuals, builds, some programs, and features. Each chef has their own style so I would say flash them all and make a decision.
I can't tell you which one is better, but I can tell you the one in my sig is awesome!
Long time i don´t see one of this.
Keep questioning away my friend.

ROMeOS ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=567161
In before LOCK in 3, 2, 1....
i have to say that i have dl many roms here and i love the new EnergyRom "Photon" (23016) with manilla 2.1 as it works better for t-mobile US, very smooth and stable good battery life no freezes, landscape works the only problem is youtube is not working but i dont really use that so its not an issue for me. this is by fay my Favorite ROM right now.
just my 2 cents!!
Dont waste your time
They are all rubbish mate, dont waste your time, wait until HTC release theirs, will happen THIS WEEK!
Are you kidding (whoever said they're rubbish), custom ROM's are 3x (at least) better than Official ROM's!
But to the original poster, you have to find your own that fits you. There is no answer, your question doesn't belong in this section, and it will only spawn battles over which ROM is best.
But you'll find all the WM6.5 ROM's here: http://thewingster.com/wm65tp2.aspx Enjoy!
Disagree
I tend to disagree with most, Including the mods, in that this is a valid question that can be asked. It is not 'rubbish to flash' and 'everyone finding their own by testing' is not good advice in my opinion. Their are two, count them 2, roms that fit the above criterion for a cooked rom. One has 1 TRUE bug... Youtube freezes the phone. Biggie or small depending. The other is the one I currently am running and believe I will stick with because it has NO bugs. Zero, Zilch, Nada! Alot needs to be said for that.
I found the first and was singing its praises when I noticed a new rom posting stating the ideal rom in my opinion. I flashed it just this morning and aftera days heavy use with all the normal trouble shooting I find it to be 100% bug free. YOU WILL FIND BUGS WITH 99% of roms. This is the exception.
The first, my second favorite, was Miris 3.0 rom running manilla 2.1, and windows 6.5.
The second, my favorite, is A.Z.T.O.R. by alphazero. It runs manilla 2.0 and windows 6.5.

The best ROM?
This has been discussed so many times before.
There is no such "Best ROM"
What´s best for me can´t be best for you.
It´s matter of tastes, what you need on a ROM and what not.
The best way is to test severals till you get your personal "Best"
The best ROM?
Sorry double post...
Nice rom.
Mosess, Dude, thanks for suggesting the rom you did. I agree 100 % this is a very stable and great rom. Im gonna mess with it for a while and see how everything agrees with me. So far so good. thanks again.
I agree with Orb! There is no such thing as best cooked ROM. Its just matter of personal preference when it comes to flashing ROM's.
If you are really looking for a stable ROM, then stick with stock ROM.
Per greedydog:
Stop "Flaming" a member on XDA.
If you happen to not like his/her/it's rom..............switch to a different one.
As for this thread..............everyone is different in likings for a rom, experiment with installing some and making your own decision.

I know this is a noob question as stated by the title but, I'm on the cm9 rom and the battery life is terrible. I am considering flashing a kernel but which kernel would be the best for battery life? I usually just use the kernel that comes with the rom so I'm new to this. Also Iknow this is a similar question to "which rom is the best" to which people would just reply try them out its different for each phone. If you feel this way just post your experience with a cm9 custom kernel. They don't have a list of features like rom do. Please excuse any errors in grammer and spelling
I know you are noob ill go easy on you this time and as stated in other posts about the very same topic plenty of times before with Kernels Roms ect. there is no best its just whatever works best for you there are only a few to choose from now so flash 1 a day and see which one works best for YOU thats what the focus cause we all use our phones differently.

Nice answer K3vin. Exactly this plus EVERY phone is different and EVERY user is different using his phone differently. So whether ROM or kernel every one is different depending on how you use your phone. They all have great battery life and it is often the user or an offending app that causes bad battery life. The DEVS here are great and will not release something that sucks your battery dry.
What is The Best and Stable ROM for HTC One X?
Currently i am using Revolution HD...
Post your Opinions and suggestions.
Godbless
In my opinion there is not much difference right now. Most roms if not all are stable with no problems.
I have tried LeeDrOiD, CoreDroid, Villain rom and InsertCoin until now and all of them seem about the same to me in terms of speed and stability
We need custom kernel
ARHD is probably one of the best and most popular.
IMO, they're all around the same and pretty similar besides the fact that some are senseless.
I think we'll really see bigger differences when kernel sources come out and kernel devs start working their magic. Then the combination of kernel and ROM will be big and some may be much more battery efficient than others.
I'm intrigued at the new ROM touch x-treme which is coming out soon I believe, he's uploading.......and hes aiming at battery life. IMO, most important thing since Tegra 3 with all it's cores should already be able to handle UI and everything with ease and the focus on battery life is a biggie to me.
Anything above 5 hours screen usage time would be great, as the phone should barely drain with the companion core during standby.
threads like these usually get closed. you're supposed to read the features/changelogs and look at the pics for the theme. i want ICS blue, so i'm trying the 2 i see with that first.
yah iknow, i want the opinion and testimonies of others.

I am aware that this thread can/may be removed but I think it's a very useful thread...
Cause although I highly appreciate each and every developer, as users, we shall have the chance to openly discuss our experiences ask for other users opinions. Cause reading only changelogs, and looking at the themes don't mean anything especially for someone like me, who is a newbie in Android... =)
And where else can we compare the ROMs, if not here?! Under their own threads? No i think that will be inappropriate...
Now, to the point...
I have my One X for 1 week and already tried first LeeDrOiD (de-sensed) and currently Android Revolution HD (w/sense)... But I could not decide on which one to use...
Both of them still drains lots of battery... I was sick of my iPhone4 because after 2 years of usage It needed to recharge by afternoon if I used it intensely during the day, but now I absolutley need to re-charge every 6 hours if I use it
A solution should be found to this, so I got very interested in your reply cause I was not aware of this ROM... my bad, was looking at only Leedroid & ARHD because of their popularity..
As of now, I can see that the rom is out there, although at the beginning of the topic it says uploading...
Did you have the chance to give it a try? I will appreciate if you can share your experience cause I got tired of changing my ROM and make all necessary installations & logins again and again...
(BTW, which you guys prefer... Sense or de-Sense?)

I use InsertCoin, which is smooth, fast and rock solid. It used to be a great ROM on the original Desire, which posed some problems to really test developers. InsertCoin met the test.
However, given the superb hardware on the One X, I would expect most of the present ROMs to be much the same... excellent.
Battery life is the holy grail, but as the screen is the main drain I can't imagine what can be done other than tinker with the brightness.

You just have to test drive them all basically and figure which is best for your phone. Apparently the latest Jelly Bean port from
Tmobile (LIF) is running pretty smooth. There's 3 different TW out.
I've been running BlackJelly 0.7 LIF for a couple of days now and have excellent battery life. Just be wary that there are some Sprint-specific apps that are included that don't work on AT&T (e.g., Sprint Hotspot, Cloud Settings), and there is a screen wake/lock issue that the developer recently acknowledged that there is a workaround for.
Generally these types of threads are frowned upon as it inevitably leads to a my ROM is better than your ROM. You'll get nothing but "whip it out and measure" type posts.
I suggest you read the OPs of what you think that you might liek to run and then a decent rule of thumb is the read at least the last 10 pages of each thread (if not reading the whole thing)
But above all, use the search or your next thread will be "Help, I think I bricked my device"

just an example. 5 minutes in google docs. That will help me and other users. Is that really hard to make and attach to big main thread?
Stock is always best. I personally think the extra features in custom roms are worth the slightly less battery life.

Wow... Unless something is lost in translation, it sounds like you really aren't interested in what XDA-Developers is all about. While there are numerous knowledgeable folks here who will happily help others and answer questions, it's not a place to drop in and have people serve up just what you want to know on demand. If the answer to your question were truly a "cut and dried" affair, then you'd likely see some information in the Wiki listing "the best ROM / kernel combination for battery life", and all of the conversations and ROM / kernel experiments and tweaks relating to that topic would be moot. But that's simply not the case. "Best" will differ across users and configurations, depending on usage patterns, installed apps, strength of 3G / 4G / Wi-Fi signals throughout the user's day, etc. Whether or not you, personally, care about the feature sets that custom ROMs offer, most of the folks here do, in fact, care -- and that's why many of us are here. That's why the developers put in countless hours researching, developing, testing and tweaking their ROMs, kernels and utilities.
Finding "the best" will be a different search for each user, based on unique circumstances and interests. That's why it's so great that there are, in fact, so many choices here. But making the best use of the site requires that you be willing to read the discussions, do some searching, and then perhaps ask questions in various discussion threads that will help you find out what you hope to learn. If you're not willing to do that, and if you dismiss 90% of the development effort here as being pointless, I'd suggest that you probably won't find what you're looking for here.
Battery life is what it is on the Galaxy Nexus. I havent really seen THAT big of a difference with all the ROM/Kernel combos I have tried. Its the phone itself. If you have that big of a problem with it, I suggest getting an extended battery or a new phone.
You're right. You should take your questions to those forums. If you think any policies are going to change just because you complain about them you are clearly not the type of member XDA is intended for.
Jesus dude stay stock and quit wasting everyone's time with useless threads.

Nobody tells you that you must try every ROM.
What's the difference of all the ROMs for Nexus:
- Another "ROM developer"
- Different features
- Different look
- Different experience
- Etc..
If you like to complain about the things then put even your thread to Q&A section!! -_-
I am using my modified STOCK Android ROM and battery life is great so stop complaining and use Android phone with stock Android OS or go to use iPhone with the same firmware which almost everyone iPhone user uses..
And also Battery life doesn't just depend of "Kernel", also many other things affects to battery life.
that was a difficult read. so i didn't
My suggestion go with a ROM that is pretty much stock AOSP, and not AOKP in your case. Stick with a ROM like KALO's that is just basically the AOSP Stock ROM with almost no mods, if you worried about battery life.
I mean we could tell you but we'd have to kill you and that's against the XDA rules.

First of all "castom" isn't even a word. It's CUSTOM. Second, it's not really a good idea for noobs to take it upon themselves to blast people like you just did. This is a DEVELOPMENT forum. Just because YOU think a ROM is useless doesn't make it so. And seriously, if a MOD thinks a thread needs to be closed, it's closed. Period. Again, just because YOU think it shouldn't be doesn't make it so. Finally, don't expect to be spoon fed here. It's not tolerated well, and "Tell me the best ROM" threads generally aren't either if I remember correctly. The best way to learn is to read read read. There is a wealth of info here. Most people figure out the best ROM for them by reading and testing.
Chill out and start educating yourself on what this forum is all about.

Wow he really went on a rant there. This place is full of great information. I say go buy a flip phone or be ready for some trial and error. Every phone is different, even if it is the same model every phone is different. What works for me may not work for you and vice versa. If you can spend a lot of time customizing then you can spend some time figuring out how to get better battery life.
