Is this normal?
And should I ask for a replacement?
Over the last 2 weeks I have heard loads of people (including myself) have this problem.
Not sure if its anything to worry about, and getting a replacement is not easy, they have to send it off to a repair centre as if it was a broken phone...

Known issue on these forums, search and you should find another thread about this issue, if it's annoying you contact your local Samsung and ask for a new one.

It's perfectly normal when stepping down the voltage - go and stand near a substation, now they're noisy.

My room is pretty silent all time, just the noise of AC or fans, but just to check this issue I turned them all off and put my ear near to adapter, and there was no sound. Maybe I have the problem and you guys are normal!

I thought my charger was crackling, but it turned out to be the two stick labels at the end of the charger rubbing against each other. Lol

Any fixes?
Mine makes more of a hissing sound
No sound here as well
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
Mine makes noise but only when the phone is near 100% charge. While it's charging it makes no noise. It's almost like a hissing/whining noise.

Okay so I finally installed a new speaker in my evo but they don't sound that loud like the original. Did I do something wrong?

Probably.
Why didnt you just take the phone to a sprint store? Your phone has a 1 year warranty for hardware defects like this.
Depends on where you got your speaker from. Was it O.E.M.? I installed one that I purchased and it sounded like ish, so I bought another. I've since replaced it 2 more times and finally got an O.E.M. one from a member here on xda. There really isn't a "wrong" way to put it in.

There is a wrong way lol when you assume the numbers go right side up you make that mistake. I did that the first time then fixed it. They don't seem as loud but they are clear. I'm still wondering about it though. Bought them from Gc something company. Five of them.

Well yea, there is that way, lol. As long as the contacts are touching you're good. Not hard though. Pretty straight forward.
The music doesn't sound nice like it did in September. Any solutions or do the speakers just suck?

Well its either installed wrong, or the speaker just sucks. The only way to tell is to try a different brand speaker.

Honestly, I wish I could tell you. This last one I put in was a factory speaker straight from another Evo, O.E.M., and it still doesn't sound right. I know its in right, and the same speaker. It does sound better than the bootleg aftermarket one I bought tho.

I know this has been mentioned many times and we all know how low quality the mic on the a100 is, but has anybody came to a final fix ASIDE from using a headset, through some of my playing around I noticed that the mic hole is actually lined up wrong, the plastic sides of the a100 can be removed, and when I saw where the hole is, it was positioned over a piece of plastic right beside the mic, and the mic itself is blocked.
So out of desperation a drilled a small hole right over the mic, that did seem to make the volume higher, but the quality...oh so worse (I had to fill that hole again with superglue, and it looks horrible), if anybody would like to see, just take the small piece of plastic off the side (it snaps in/out) and see for yourself how the mic hole doesn't even line up.
Now the second interesting thing is that I saw a chat session with a technical support guy at Acer about the mic on this tab, and he actually confirmed that the mic shipped with it is in fact a cheap low quality mic, so I was thinking, would anybody be able to somehow solder it out and swap it with a much higher quality one? Say from a headset or something, I don't have any mics of the same size as the a100 but if anybody has one can you maybe try and look into it, I sure will try as soon as I get good enough with soldering and find a headset, I mean we really don't have anything to lose other than a cheap mic that doesn't really work .
Much appreciated, thanks

Well having the first problem with my S3. the vibrate motor seems to be messed up. It is still moving, but very messed up. Not strong at all. I'm guessing I'll have to replace the motor itself???
Anyone have this issue? any can offer any guidance? Or a place to buy parts?
Im not sure if its replaceable whitout breaking anything hopefully im wrong but unless your not an exper whit DIY guides don't bother :/

Unless you're an expert, you will probably do more damage than good. Are you not covered under warranty?
If you are, just do a warranty replacement. If you tamper with the phone tmobile will charge you full replacement cost.
If its weak, wait for it to get better. That happened to me too.

Well then, you should then get it back to where you bought it or to Samsung becaus it could be a hardware malfunction.

I bought a vibrate motor on ebay for like $10, and installed it myself. Took like 5 mins. Super easy. Now all is good!

This is a really strange issue that has happened so far with 3 earphones so far. After some time, the left side has a bit of more volume and a huge lot more of bass, this never happened with the original sonyericsson earphone, but my cat broke it.
So, is it possible that my 3.5mm jack is damaging one of the sides of every earphone I connect? This is personally annoying for me beacuse I want a centered bass as always.
I use poweramp, latest version... I think it's a problem with my phone because when I buy the earphones and use them with the PC, it's okay, then I use and use a lot them on my phone until the problem occurs, then I try them again on the PC and yes, they are damaged.
Help? I won't keep spending money on earphones!
It's driving me crazy.. today I will go to the mall and take the decision of buying a new pair of earphones or not to... Anyone?
Since you use poweramp, have you tried to balance it over to the right side?

Yes man but I end up with clear bass on the left earphone and a really low bit of vocals, and at the right side every vocal and rhythm...
Yeah even I am having this issue right side has low volume. Initially I thought my right ear was blocked

No, they're normal earphones since my cat broke the original Sony ones.
It's very difficult to know what exactly causing this hardware issue.
Me too hoping for a solution soon.

But if you try the SAME earphones on your PC or with another phone/device, do they sound properly or the left still sound more than the right?

I am using Sony original earphones which came in box along with the devices. It doesn't work properly if plugged in any other device or pc.
Well, weeks have passed and no problems at all with my new Maxwell headphones, so the phone wasn't faulty, thanks all.

Mine is the same. By same, I mean EXACTLY the same, with the exact same holes blocked and unblocked. I'm not concerned though. it still sound fine. Maybe this is normal?
Yeah I never remembered it I've owned 3 M 7 over the past year and never saw that before. I may still exchange it because I notice there's some lag and my bottom buttons aren't very responsive

The speaker is only under a part of the cover.
Check the ifixit tear down.
The other "unblocked" holes are the mic {on bottom) and notification led (on top}.

Well this is because it's NOT a defect, it's made that way, speaker is only under the left side of the grill, on right are other components underneath, so it looks blocked, it's not. :fingers-crossed:

Thanks for this thread. I had visited my local Verizon store this weekend and asked them about the "blocked" speaker holes and of course they had no clue. But their demo looked just like mine, and just like all the pics posted here. This saved me a call to cust service (which probably would have gone nowhere anyways, lol).
