Evidence points to this phone being released on boost mobile, for any wondering. In system/media there is a bootanimation_boost animation with the boost logo in it. Add that to the fact that the phone has no specific sprint branding and it seems pretty obvious.
Doesn't sprint own boost? Jk i know we own boost , the reason i bring this up is because most of our popular phones end of life cycle ends up on boost or virgin. Guess its a way to re-coupe money

Who here current has their Epic on Boost Mobile?
I currently have straight talk and it was OK, but now i feel it sucks. The Verizon towers have to reset my signal on my phone from time to time which drains my battery, I cant send texts to one particular person, etc ... Anyone have boost? And how is it?
When you say you have Straight Talk, do you mean your Epic is on Straight Talk? I don't know anyone who has Boost but from the thread in Dev about getting 3G working it seems everything works with the epic their except 4G which is to be expected.
For Boost in General, if you have great Sprint Service everywhere you go and don't Roam then Your experience should be the same on Boost, but it all depends on what area you are in. Kind of a hard thing to generalize.
Thanks man .. and yeupp i have it on straight talk .. and i dont like it too much.. wanting to switch, but wondering if its a good idea to switch too boost mobile.
I have an epic 4g on boost and it works great, I think its the same as sprint just a lot cheaper and no 4g. I hope they put wimax on boost so maybe the 4g towers can work. And are you sure you have simple mobile on your epic because the epic doesnt have a sim card so you can't use it with simple mobile.

Cool. Maybe it will help spark the dev scene more since people will be able to get this on on boost via a legit option.

Yea alot my friends want to xfer to boost for their low price plans but wanted a awesome phone. Now with the et4 in the future if roam is not a big deal for a persons cell usage and sprint coverage is good for their needs this is a no brainer.
Heck i pay half for unlimited everything compaired to what i was paying with sprint, not having roaming is no big deal for my cell usage so that is ok.
This kind of makes me sick to my stomach.
This is my first smartphone ever, purchased only months ago.
My 30 day return ended only a few days before the release date of the galaxy s3. Sprint saw me coming.
I paid full price for this phone!
LOL and now boost?
My investment depreciated quick!
(Assuming a price-drop: which we can safely assume)
Ha all in good spirits though, not legitimately upset.
This really grinds my gears...big time ..seems like they care more for there prepaid peeps then there post pay peeps

don't be mad, if you are tired of paying double for what you can get for half with boost, that is why I left, of course without roaming.
If I didn't want the backup of roaming I'd be on boost

I hear you, now that the ET is on boost unless you really need roaming, why would a ET person go to sprint and pay double, since boost has the same service/coverage as sprint.
Unless you are going to get LTE in your market I can see staying or need LTE speed.

Your one of the lucky ones....good luck. I will never see LTE in my area just 4g here and there if I am lucky I will use it maybe 5 times a yr.... :cyclops:
I am thinking of buying some ebay ET's for backup in the future just incase mine breaks..etc...when the price drops or some bad ESN's
The ET is really a great phone for a couple of yrs I am very happy with this model.
I know it won't come soon we have wimax here so hopefully within 2 yrs lol
This is pretty dope. Wonder if they can get it for one cent like I did

Sextape will be having me test the software for the boost epic 4g touch for him so hopefully soon ill be able to post some after thoughts
So if and when an Odin file for the boost Eptouch comes out will it be possible to Odin that to a sprint Eptouch and essentially it will be flashed over or does one still need to jump through hoops

Actually sprint/boost/Nextel are CDMA and T-Mobile is GSM.
You will need a GSM service for T-Mobile branded phones.

Yes i agree. I gave my old phone to a friend from columbia and she got the 15 a month for unlimited text and like 10 cents a minute. or you could get the T-Mobile prepay unlimited web (throttles after 5GB) text and 100 minutes. Its only 30 a month and can be dropped whenever.
thanks guys i have messaged him on FB with this
http://www.phonearena.com/news/Simp...-for-50-per-month-no-strings-attached_id33617
I have it and I don't get throttled. But I cannot confirm as I never have even gone over 2 GB
And I get 12mbps down and 700kbps up on average. It really depends where you are though. Some get 22 and 4mbps

Yes, it can be used on other networks. Mine is on Verizon Wireless. It's not the easiest process.
I flash phones all the time was just wanting to know if there would be any additional steps id have to take?

Oh, I couldn't tell you. I've only done it once. I had issues with 3g but went away once I flashed to GB rom.
Question is there anyway to get rid of the Sprint stuff so it won't keep complaining to update on stockish roms?
No there shouldn't be any diffrent steps as long as you have the donor phone you should be good.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app
I got a D710 with bad esn, and use it on cricket. Stock roms suck, I rarely find an mms fix that works on most, and can't get voice mail notifications. AOSP is better, I get voicemail out the box, but nothing seemed to work on MMS. I'm not a pro, but have flashed my share of devices. Using a doaner phone means esn change, that is an iffy subject. Change it to use on another carrier? Why, when you could do the same thing and keep it on Sprint? Not legal either way. Bad esn means failed to pay the bill or was claimed lost/stolen. Either way, changing the esn to use it is considered fraud. The phone belongs to the carrier. No one would hunt you done for it, but you should know about it. Soon all the black listed cdma devices will be in one database, and just flashing a device won't be a way to use it. "Cleaning up" an esn or part it out will be all the devices with bad esns will be good for.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app
Ya I have bought bad ESN phones just to flash them to cricket which is relatively heard other providers can be a lot harder but never tried. And cricket will pretty much allow anything on there network.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app
May want to check also with the parties you're donating to. Many of them may not need to activate it - in which case ESN doesn't really matter. Bad ESNs can be flashed to other carriers, but Sprint may take some talks to get that working - and assuming they're nice enough to do it.
Well there's flashing and esn changing. Flashing is not touching the esn and taking it to another Sprint MNVO and just activating it either legitimately (some are byod) or just changing some settings on your end and then activating it on said mnvo carrier. Then there's changing the esn. If there are carriers that only allow their devices, then youd have to go this route which is a bit complicated and not for the average user. This involves obtaining a donor phone (one that the carrier sells) and taking the esn and a bunch of other settings from that phone and plugging it into the phone you want to use. Ive done this successfully with an epic touch 4g on Platinumtel and Virgin Mobile. It's been working perfectly for the last 9 months. It is completely legal. Where it becomes illegal and fraudulent is if you clone someone elses phone and do not pay the bill (read this for more info although it's still a gray area http://www.hackerscatalog.com/Services/TECH_Notes/one.html) So yes, you can do a lot with a phone with a bad esn if you know what you're doing or pay someone who does. Keep in mind it would be easier to take a sprint phone to virgin mobile or verizon phone to page plus, etc. A lot of the settings will stay the same and cdma carriers use different frequencies for data and you might end up with 1x for data. If you need a how to guide, I could post a link. Let me know.
Ok I knew I could get my iphone 4 flashed to metropcs but since houdini stop allowing new esn in the metro inventory...I thought flashing iphones to metro stopped....
so I found a guy on craigslist doing it but he is charging a buttt load so a friend of mine goes and gets it done.
I look through the phone and the meid has not changed but when we went to a metro store the esn was a old metropcs phone (lg imprint)
Is that possible? Obviously it is now but I wonder can it be done to work on boost?? Help me email me if you can... thanks
