Actually sprint/boost/Nextel are CDMA and T-Mobile is GSM.
You will need a GSM service for T-Mobile branded phones.

Yes i agree. I gave my old phone to a friend from columbia and she got the 15 a month for unlimited text and like 10 cents a minute. or you could get the T-Mobile prepay unlimited web (throttles after 5GB) text and 100 minutes. Its only 30 a month and can be dropped whenever.
thanks guys i have messaged him on FB with this
http://www.phonearena.com/news/Simp...-for-50-per-month-no-strings-attached_id33617
I have it and I don't get throttled. But I cannot confirm as I never have even gone over 2 GB
And I get 12mbps down and 700kbps up on average. It really depends where you are though. Some get 22 and 4mbps

What's up everyone. I might be picking up a used sgs2 4g. I'm currently not under contract with T-Mobile, and was wondering if this phone could be used under simple mobile. I'm kind of enjoying the no contact prices, but not the no contact devices. If it would work under simple, would 3g/4g work? That's all I really care about. Thanks!

Yes, T-Mobile's 3G/4G works on Simple Mobile but you will have to change the APN's to get it to work. Their data is limited to 2GB's tho. After that they throttle you to a snail's pace! It's the only that sucks about Simple Mobile.
Has anyone used the sgs2 on simple mobile? How is the service?

I got it for 10 hours then i returned it, screen and camera was better with optimus v, so i bought SG2 and will never never go back. Monthly4g $30 plan is good if you don't use more than 100 minutes a month.
http://www.tmonews.com/2012/08/t-mo...unlimited-data-plan-thats-actually-unlimited/
At a time when Verizon and AT&T are charging more for Data, T-Mobile comes to the rescue with unlimited Data for $30 for Classic Plans and $20 for Value Plans.
<3 I am excited! I was actually considering switching to Sprint for truly unlimited data, but now that my beloved T-Mobile is getting it, I am never leaving!
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
The unlimited data plan does not allow tethering. This is a quite reasonable limitation in my opinion but even so I am sure it will be bypassed on rooted phones by Sept. 7th.
Its almost TOO good to be true. But Tmo does take out the included HotSpot Tether (easy work around for us here tho ). This + the iPhone5/LTE (hopefully for Tmo's sake) + HEAVY marketing (including improved network toting & great prices) will bring new customers in droves. Tmo needs this combo punch for the holiday season.
Also, does anyone know how to only test the 1900 HSPA+ band on the GNex instead of AWS/1700 HSPA+? Tmo has been working on HSPA+ over their 1900 band for some months now, and I want to see if any towers in and around Seattle are enabled yet.
Have not been this excited about something from tmo in a long time. Still waiting for a catch, but damn this will be epic. I get unlimited through my dealer line anyway, but will be awesome for my wife.

I'll never understand why companies do this (own several different brands). All it does is decrease the effectiveness of your marketing. Why does GM need to sell 20 different midsize vehicles all under different brands? Why does sprint need Virgin and Boost.

Having different brands can be easier than trying to explain the differences between your products. For instance, Sprint's offerings have features like roaming, nights and weekends, mobile to mobile, LTE, etc, while Virgin Mobile doesn't. It's probably less confusing for the average consumer to view two brands than to have Sprint explain, "This is a 300 minute plan, but it's not the same as these other plans because it's missing these features." Instead, Sprint gets to market VM as a full service provider to people who don't know what they're missing.

A T-Mobile executive was quoted as saying a merger with Sprint was the "logical ultimate combination" two weeks ago. Wouldn't be so bad to add Sprint's coverage (realestate) to Tmob's, as long as CDMA is killed off with fire ASAP.

I also wouldn't mind the extended coverage but I am afraid of Sprint's ethics and HORRIBLE customer service somehow leaking into T-Mobile's customer service. The only benefit I see is like you said the extra coverage but I am more afraid of Sprint's "bads" to creep in. And yes definitely no CDMA that would be horrible.
A T-Mobile Sprint merger would be good if CDMA, was killed off, T-Mobile had operational control, they sell the 2500mhz spectrum use the additional 1900 mhz for HSPA and use Sprints 800 mhz for LTE as well as the current 1700 mhz

Same here. But I know exactly what you mean. If sprint and t mobile merged, they would have the ability to expand further than at&t and Verizon.
It actually makes a lot of sense. They just have to nit pick the good things from each carrier.
1. 4G from t mobile.
2. New and old spectrums from Sprint.
3. Unlimited high speed data from Sprint, without a price hike.
4. GSM from t-mobile.
5. The phone policies from t mobile.
6. John Legere.
With that all being said, maybe t mobile should buy sprint instead. Looks like they have more going for them.
I also wonder what the new logo would look like. SprinT-mobile maybe?
Edit: and the t-mobile girl. If they really feel like getting rid of her, they can send her my way.

ahh cool.. i heard that simple mobile outin that region was very bad. but i had a very bad experience with tmo where i'm at where tmo is supposed to be coverage king.. i was riding in a car along the river and went on the web.. it was slow as sh'it. then my call dropped.. i cant understand why this happened when i go to the west side of my city when again tmo is hailed as the best carrier to have here..
I've used tmobile for a few years now and I wouldn't switch to simple mobile.
