Here's another thread with people having or not having issues with soft boots.
Personally, no problem at all on the 11/28 build of Jellybro CM10.1 with the ZenSERIES v9 kernel.

Trying my first rom

Anyone have a link they recommend here on xdavfor the Verizon GN? Thanks guys

CM9 or AOKP. The links are in the development section for your respective device.
ICSourcery.

Just make a nandroid backup of your stock ROM and try as many as you want. That's what I did with my Sprint GNex a few weekends ago since I wasn't 100% sure what I was looking for. You can always restore back to stock should you not like a ROM for any reason.
I decided on AOKP b37 and Franco Milestone 3 (now running Milestone 4)--this setup has been flawless for me with no crashes or hangs at all. In addition to my stock nandroid backup I also have four backups of other ROMs as well, should I want to try out the different functionality each one offers.
Rascream and liquid smooth are probably the two best roms.
Rascream doesn't have many options but is built from aosp and is the fastest rom out there and liquid has more options and is pretty smooth.
Thanks guys

look in the bloated roms section :silly:
Just a warning to you, threads like this are no longer allowed on xda. My suggestion is do a little reading through the roms your interested in and then do a little bit of trial and error until you find what your looking for.
Thread reported
CNA by far imo.

I would agree with this. CNA with jellybean has been the most stable jellybean rom I have used for the galaxy nexus.
Best ROM is the ROM that suits YOU. Just try all out and stock with the one that you like. I would recommend starting with something popular, like cm or AOKP.
Swyped on my Galaxy Nexus running AOKP with Franco Kernel
Most features has to be cna.

Which ROM is the best for you depends on how you use your device.
If you are using a device from Verizon the sticky in it's development section can help you get started.

[POLL] Will Maguro/Toroplus Owners Want to try P.A.C.?

I have recently ported a popular ROM called P.A.C. which is a merge of AOKP, CM10, and Paranoid Android over to the toro.
I would like to know if maguro and/or toroplus owners would be interested in trying it out.
Keep in mind, this ROM has some bugs.
I'm down.
Btw, I have the Toroplus.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
Yea I'm down to try it I have the toroplus
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
I'll do toroplus then.
EDIT: I guess I'll do maguro too, because why not.
I'm down too, toro plus as well
Toroplus
Absolutely. I swear by slim bean but I'd love to give it a try. I was wondering why nobody had ported it to the Toroplus when it's being ported to obscure devices.
Always want to try new ROMs so yes please. Toroplus

I wanted to compile this for maguro and toro its a great ROM and it would definitely be a hit for us nexus owners.

[Q] What's the best VZW 4.2 Rom?

Hey guys I'm a Nexus retread. Just wondering what the VZ JB 4.2 rom is. Thanks!
Prepare yourself for the flames!
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
At least from XDA? mROM 3.2 if you want the closest stock ROM without any mods. (Which I'm personally running)
MMUzzy's Jelly Bean is my next choice, stock feel with some extra additions thrown into the mix.

This is answered the same every time it's asked. Try several and see what works best for YOU. Everyone doesn't want the same features in a ROM. Some want stock and others want customization. Read the forums look at the screen shots and flash whatever peaks your interest. If you don't like it flash something else. Just be sure you make a backup just in case something wonky happens.
As for a suggestion, I am currently on Xylon V11+Zen kernel V12.

JB 4.2.2 Kernels List

I would like to start a list of Kernels for Jelly Bean 4.2.2. I will start with the one that I have been using:
4.2.2 PIRATES ED. (EXPERIMENTAL)

I agree...
This is actually going to end up confusing people because it will imply the kernel will work on 4.2.2 regardless of its GPU binaries which is not true.

exactly
Thew new 4.2.2 ROMs should implement the new binaries but that's not the case at moment, not custom kernel problem.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
The binaries haven't even been merged to CM yet. This pointless thread is going to cause more trouble than help.
