Hey guys I'm a Nexus retread. Just wondering what the VZ JB 4.2 rom is. Thanks!

At least from XDA? mROM 3.2 if you want the closest stock ROM without any mods. (Which I'm personally running)
MMUzzy's Jelly Bean is my next choice, stock feel with some extra additions thrown into the mix.

This is answered the same every time it's asked. Try several and see what works best for YOU. Everyone doesn't want the same features in a ROM. Some want stock and others want customization. Read the forums look at the screen shots and flash whatever peaks your interest. If you don't like it flash something else. Just be sure you make a backup just in case something wonky happens.
As for a suggestion, I am currently on Xylon V11+Zen kernel V12.

CM9 or AOKP. The links are in the development section for your respective device.
ICSourcery.

Just make a nandroid backup of your stock ROM and try as many as you want. That's what I did with my Sprint GNex a few weekends ago since I wasn't 100% sure what I was looking for. You can always restore back to stock should you not like a ROM for any reason.
I decided on AOKP b37 and Franco Milestone 3 (now running Milestone 4)--this setup has been flawless for me with no crashes or hangs at all. In addition to my stock nandroid backup I also have four backups of other ROMs as well, should I want to try out the different functionality each one offers.
Rascream and liquid smooth are probably the two best roms.
Rascream doesn't have many options but is built from aosp and is the fastest rom out there and liquid has more options and is pretty smooth.
Thanks guys

I have run the vicious v4, then dirty installed the 4.1.1 and have been running excellent since flashing.
That is the best ROM what you like the most..
When you buy a Galaxy Nexus then you can test ROMs and then you find right ROM for you...
For me the Best ROM is right now the stock "takju" Jelly Bean 4.1.1 ROM.
I'm testing petes bugless beast right now and really liking it... It's basically stock atm but hes solved the low audio issue which is why I've chosen to run it. No problems so far best jb I've used

If you're wondering how to unlock the bootloader:
adb reboot bootloader
Fastboot OEM unlock
If you're actually wondering how you make phone calls with an unlocked bootloader: just the same as you would with a locked bootloader.

If you mean the phone not being locked to one carrier, you *MUST* have an active SIM card already, or go out and purchase a plan of some sort (I.e. go to T-Mobile or att, or get a simple talk SIM).
You cannot go to Verizon, sprint, boost, cricket, or virgin as they are not gsm.

Hi, I got a couple of noob questions for you.
Did you have Vicious Miui ICS on your GNEX previously?
And then did you install Vicious Miui 4.1.1 with out wiping any thing? (=dirty install?)
I googled and can only find an ICS build..... can you post a link for me please?

More of these useless threads. Just flash each rom and try them out for a day or so each. Keep which rom that works the best for you.
I flashed Viscious v4 last night on 2 Gnex's and both are running flawlessly. I'm amazed at how good jellybean and this ROM are. I was using AOKP and I must admit that even as good as Jellybean is I'm missing a lot from AOKP. Is there a way to add Themechooser and toggles to the notification bar?
" CodeNameAndroid is BACK ! Packed with almost EVERY feature wanted on JB "
Yes, that was my first impression, when I saw CNA was back. Uncertain about the whole situation this dev had with his kang bash. But it's up to you whether to support the Dev or not? Or I think its only up to those who got the harm from any previous actions, and only them shall accept the apology. Or we can just use the ROM and move on with the old story? It's 50/50 opinion. Feel free to state

His thread got closed right after the first day, and then got reopen. anyway now that I know, think it has to do with the old story. And a thead by him is not even present on XDA yet.

Or you could just ask for a title change in a more polite way instead of being a smart ass
Change the title to Blackdroid is BACK!
Few change their names (and don't tell anyone) for genuine reasons.
There is nothing wrong with it. Its fast good on battery life, stable and most of all you can customize anything.

whats the smoothest AOSP JB rom here for the GNex? I'm still in the process of rooting so I havent tried any. I just got the phone last night and my other was the NS4G. I see there are a few here but Im looking for people who have tried several.

Sprint Gnex, please? I like a pure smooth rom.
You're not going to get anything 100% stock considering you need to go to a custom ROM. Poke around the Sprint development section and see what people offer. Those ROMs are your only Jellybean option right now.

Just a warning to you, threads like this are no longer allowed on xda. My suggestion is do a little reading through the roms your interested in and then do a little bit of trial and error until you find what your looking for.

I would agree with this. CNA with jellybean has been the most stable jellybean rom I have used for the galaxy nexus.
Best ROM is the ROM that suits YOU. Just try all out and stock with the one that you like. I would recommend starting with something popular, like cm or AOKP.
Swyped on my Galaxy Nexus running AOKP with Franco Kernel
Most features has to be cna.

Which ROM is the best for you depends on how you use your device.
If you are using a device from Verizon the sticky in it's development section can help you get started.
