Android devices are meant for multitasking. Some devices, like the Galaxy Note 2,
are specifically designed to launch two apps, or more, at the same time.
The Google Play Store also offers a variety of multitasking apps to allow
you to multitask on your device. The FlipLauncher app is a multitasking app
that allows you to group your favorite apps or shortcuts and access them
from wherever on your device.
get the extremely usefull app HERE
When you launch FlipLauncher in portrait mode, 6 colored bars (i use one) will appear
on the left side of your screen. These bars serve as your virtual drawer
containing your apps and shortcuts. Just swipe to open those bars.
You can set up to 4 apps or shortcuts on each bar, giving you a total
of 24 apps or shortcuts.

The app also allows you to personalize the bars on your device’s screen.
You can change a bar’s color, adjust its width, set its placement, and
set its opacity. You can even disable one or two bars. These virtual drawers
really look like the Multi Window feature of the Galaxy Note 2 but arranged horizontally.
The app also has a different layout when you hold your device in landscape mode.
In this screen orientation, 4 colored bars (again i only use one) will appear on the left
side of the screen. Each bar allows you to place 6 apps or shortcuts, giving you still a
total of 24 apps.Just like the previous orientation, you can still change a bar’s color,
transfer the bar to the opposite side, adjust its width, and set its opacity. You can also
remove some bars according to your liking.

i dunno how to. I don't wanna use whole themes, just the icons.
I don't remember where its somewhere in the vibrant forums but to customize the icons you can use ninjamorph. They had a guide in the forums there.

You can download pictures off the web, any size, drag an aplication to your home screen, long press, click edit, now a screen your homescreen will show a dialogue, select the icon on the left
now you get the option to select a picture, crop a picture or pic one from an ADW icon pack
I personally prefer cropping and selecting pictures, I've made my screen look like this

Thanks.
I ended up not using a dock on my home screen.
I use swipe up to open app drawer, home key to make a call, and long press search key to txt msg.
Desktop VisualizeR
There is also Desktop VisualizeR. You can pick what icon you want to use and then associate what app you want to go with that icon.
Is there any way to lock the nav bar to one side of the screen? Like when I use the tablet in land scape I want the nav bar to still be vertical on either the left or the right side of the screen like how the nexus 4 does it. Like this:

"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",

I personally like the nav bar being of to the side because it gives the tablet more screen real estate imo. I was wondering if there were any way to do that. And to put icing on the cake, I was wondering if there was a way to lock down the nav bar to a side of the tablet in how the older tablets used to do their nav bars. All the navigation icons to the far left and the time and notification center to the right and no status bar on top of the screen. Like this:
Obviously with stock icons and fonts. I just want that nav bar to be locked to the left or right side of the of the screen in land scape but use all apps in the land scape mode. And of course i could use apps like full screen! or paranoid pie for more screen realestate but im not a fan of those very much. The notification center is nerfed and i like having fast access to the home and back button.
Thank you for help!
Tablet Mode.
Yes Paranoid Android Rom can do all of that. I haven't seen any other ROMs with tablet mode on 4.3 yet, but I suspect it will be ported soon.
I personally like Tablet mode too but whatevs
The bar on the side like the first pic is called Phone Mode. Also supported on Paranoid Android.
The Nexus 7 uses Phablet Mode, which looks like phone mode, but the navbar is always at the button when rotating.

Ok so I haven't noticed this when I got my mobile (I bought it recently and I froze Chrome that came by default since I generally use Dolphin) but I have no settings button in my Chrome browser. There's only the tab switch button and that's it, no 3 dots in there. I searched around and found that this usually happens when your phone has a hardware menu button but hey we don't have one. I'm using this app All in one Gestures instead of the soft keys (I hid those by adding qemu.hw.mainkeys=1 in build.prop). Could this be the cause of my issues?
Anyone knows how I can make those 3 dots appear inside Chrome tab view too since this is the only place I don't have them?
Example in the 2 pictures below.

"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Edit: Ok so it seems qemu.hw.mainkeys=1 is the problem. Once I went back with this Chrome displays the 3 dot menu. Now my question remains the same how can I make Chrome display the 3 dot menu since this app is the only one that doesn't display them? I tried Xposed 3 dot module and it didn't work, I tried App Settings module to enable legacy menu for Chrome only and didn't work, I tried using another app to hide the softkeys (GMD Auto Hide SoftKeys) and it doesn't work (Chrome doesn't display 3 dots). Growing a bit desperate here. I conclude that I have to modify Chrome in some way to show those 3 dots (I haven't found any option to do that in chrome://flags/ like in the first picture I posted above). Any help/ideea is welcome.
Ok so 59 views and no ideea/solution to have softkeys hidden and also the 3 dots button in Chrome (it only happens in Chrome as i said)?
Yup, at least on mine it looks like the developer settings notch switched to tall will show more icons. See screenshots. Obviously the notch is not shown on the screenshots but you see an extra icon on the status bar.
This would mean that default settings doesn't actually show the entire display and that Google did some software rounding with extra black space... Weird

if using nacho notch, does that affect the overall number of icons on either side?
I see the same thing; more icons fit (on the right at least) with "tall."
I don't have enough notifications yet to see if there are more.
However, I assume you people see that when it's on tall, the notch actually extends lower - into the status/notification area (when you pull down)?
The icons are small enough and the space big enough, why don't they just wrap to show 2 rows of icons? Or would that be crazy?
I think two rows of icons would look weird. Even at the smallest display size, I think they would be too crowded.
I just tested the Tall option and I get one more icon on the left vs the regular mode. If I use the small display size, I get the same. The normal out of the box mode shows three total, meaning two and a dot when you have more. With Tall or small I get three and a dot. With Small AND Tall, I get four and a dot.
I'd like to remove the clock. I don't use it much and would rather have more icons. With a persistent media player, I'm left with few spots left for other notifications.
Hi,
I recently bought a Poco F3 and something that bugs the hell out of me is the notification icons, that they are in different shapes and sizes, which also causes the text in the notifications to not align to each other (see the image below). Is there any way to make this universal, so that it sticks to round icons and the same sizes for all? I tried switching to different themes, which only changes some icon shapes, but never from messaging apps where a profile picture is shown, they always stay squared and very big compared to other apps. Which is strange because inside the apps the profile pictures are round...
Any fix for this? If not, is it possible to remove the profile pictures from the notifications, so that it just show the app icon instead (perhaps that will make them the same size)?
I'm running MIUI Global 12.5.3.
Thanks in advance!

Change Notification Shade from Settings > Notifications & Control Centre to "Android" instead of "MIUI"
Unfortunately it's the same thing there, it just changes the layout a little bit but not the shapes and sizes of the icons of messages.
