i dunno how to. I don't wanna use whole themes, just the icons.
I don't remember where its somewhere in the vibrant forums but to customize the icons you can use ninjamorph. They had a guide in the forums there.

You can download pictures off the web, any size, drag an aplication to your home screen, long press, click edit, now a screen your homescreen will show a dialogue, select the icon on the left
now you get the option to select a picture, crop a picture or pic one from an ADW icon pack
I personally prefer cropping and selecting pictures, I've made my screen look like this

Thanks.
I ended up not using a dock on my home screen.
I use swipe up to open app drawer, home key to make a call, and long press search key to txt msg.
Desktop VisualizeR
There is also Desktop VisualizeR. You can pick what icon you want to use and then associate what app you want to go with that icon.

is there a way to change the ADW dockbar icons similar to laucherpro WITHOUT completely rethemeing ADW?

since no one here seems to be able to answer my question, im going to answer it for anyone else who wants to know since i spent my time figuring it out.
Requirements are ADW 1.2.0
1. menu > settings > adwlauncher > UI settings
2. make sure that there is a check next to Dockbar
3. return to home screen and then long press on the app tray button and then drag it up until is disappears
4. now you should have completely blank dockbar at the bottom
5. long press on your screen as if you were adding a widget > select custom shortcut
6. from here pick you activity, once you have chosen activity such as an application like gmail, press the icon and select you custom icon
7. when finished you will have a shortcut to your app you selected, select the app and drag it to the blank dockbar and whala custom dockbar icons in ADW
you can place as many shortcuts as you want into the dockbar and it becomes scrollable just like LPs dockbar. ADW currently allows 6 dockbar icons as opposed to LPs 5. with about 15mins of your time you can have customized ADW like mine below.

so, i answered my own question. in case anyone is interested how to do this is listed in the first post.
Here's a picture of my home screen. I like to keep things simple. It's the adw minimalist homescreen. I was wondering if there was a way to get the battery color to not be green.
I was looking at some themes, but didn't want to download the entire theme to just get the status bar.
Is there a theme out there that's super simple like my homescreen?

Oops, hit the thanks button instead of quote. So I'm not sure if there is a like what you want, but the status bar can be modified by changing the framework-res.jar file. If you find a theme with a battery you like, you can grab those images from the framework-res.jar in it to mod your own. (You'll have to search to see which files they are---I'm not a big modder of the file myself.)
Alternatively, you can try using the online kitchen at this site: http://circle.glx.nl/. They allow you to select from a wide variety of battery types where you can customize the color scheme. They also allow you to modify other elements of your framework. After you make your selections, you just upload your existing framework-res.jar and download the one they modify for you. If all you want is to change your battery icon, this is probably your best bet.
Love this phone. However I am so used to HTC and like to have a full calender on one page, locations on another and music on another . Is this not possible on all these blank screens? I long touch screen and no option for widgets comes up.
Long press on a widget in the widget drawer to drag it onto the screen

also check out Beautiful Widgets or HD Widgets in the Google Play Store... their not free, but only a couple bucks..
cheers
Another good widget app is Make Your Clock if you like to design your own. In the following screenshot, the analog clock and the top three widgets on the left were made with MYC.

collection skin thread, don't forget to thank the OP
Wow so many answers and none what OP asked. Lol. ( Alex did actually.)
You don't get widgets like that on android 4.0 +. You go to app drawer and than get to the widgets, swype to get them or press the tab named widget.
Also you won't find a full calendar widget on stock android, you have to install third Party app/widget.
Download APW Widget:

OR!!!
Wizz widget:

Here is ZPlayer for a full screen music widget:

If I have helped you.... hit that sexy thanks button. ^_^
So I played around with theming the GEPack icons and I found a way to turn the drawer icon completely transparent except for the the dots. I also thought to turn the drawer icon into a folder background. Use it in Nova launcher as I did and complete that theme you wanted! You can change the color of each one in any png editor. Have fun!
I'll take some color requests but mind you, I will only be able to do them in my free time.

Could use these simple drawers
There are actually more interesting folder backgrounds (this is personal, others might like something simpler like these) could be found, however the drawers are nice addition. So, thanks.
Take for eg FB and Dolphin browser.
On my M7, there were 3 dot menu button to open settings for both of them... Here on FB there is a way, Yes, but not that simple.... And for Dolphin, couldn't open settings.... Any suggestions please.

Facebook = Press the 3 horizontal lines, then scroll to bottom and select "App Settings". Only way to do it, blame Facebook for not including a easier menu.
Dolphin = Use Chrome.
So, the phone doesn't have a menu button?
Dolphin is the best browser I have ever tried on android, wouldn't change to Chrome
To change the wallpaper in Whatsapp you need to open a conversation and then press the menu button to display the option and choose "wallpaper", how do you do that then?
Edit: I was reading an article and I found this:
"Google Now can be accessed just as on Nexus and Motorola devices, and extra buttons like "Menu" can easily be tacked onto the bar by apps."
I don't have the phone yet (I just bought it yesterday and I'm waiting for the delivery) so I'm not sure what that means, but once I get the phone I'll check
If the app doesn't meet android guidelines, an extra button will be added to the bottom:

Quite a cool solution to be honest.
Dolphin - just hold down on the round dolphin symbol that appears on the browser, lower-left corner.......it will give you a few more round things, the one on the right will be the settings, hit that then exit.
Best Browser.
Thanks @ycats... I like Dolphin, better than chrome...
