Hello guys,
I have recently upgraded to Windows 8 and have installed all the drivers, java, google drives and so on but my phone will not connect to my computer. Alot of the ROM's I use are starting to use new boot.img's. Is there anyway to flash boot a boot.img without using fastboot. Right now I am using AOKP with sickernal 2.2. Runkin has his own boot.img that is installed with his rom that runs better than CM10's sickkernal. I can use Runkin's boot.img becuase I can not flash it in fastboot with my computer.
Any help would be awesome!
No there's no any other way since your phone is unable to connect your computer.......

Try to uninstall all the existing HTC drivers + HTC Sync Manager and do a cleanup with CCleaner. Then download the latest HTC Sync Manager and install it. It will install the drivers as well. After that you can safely remove/uninstall HTC Sync Manager, but do not uninstall the app called "HTC Driver Installer".
The above method works flawlessly on Win8 64b. I don't know if there is a simpler way to do it, like installing the driver only(because i wasn't able to find a driver only installation kit for One V and Win8)...

Yea in debug did the uninstall reinstall of drivers
Did you restart the pc after installing the drivers?
Which drivers did you install and what OS is your pc running?
If you open the device manager on your pc and connect the phone in fastboot mode what exactly does it say in the Android tab (name of driver installed)?
Mark.

You have a driver issue.
Uninstall all GN device drivers.
Get the drivers from here.
Follow these steps to install the drivers.
Follow this to get back to stock.

Hi Guys
I have a big problem with my HOX. I am on Android Revolution HD 9.8 but did not flash the boot.img! The USB-Connection does not work. Its not the cable and not the pc. Even in bootloader i have no connection. the phone loads, but i does not show up at all in the device manager. i would like to flash a new rom, but i have to flash a new firmware.zip, because of my cid. what can i do now? boot.img is not flashable in cwm, right?
Check if you have these:
-Htc drivers
-Java sdk
-Phone in fastboot mode

OK i did reinstall the htc sync software, and updated to JDK 7u10 x86 and x64, startet phone into fastboot mode and only got <waiting for device>
Have this problem since i flashed the new rom.
Sometimes htc sync causes problems with fastboot. Try uninstalling it and install only pure htc drivers.

Ok, did that too, but nothing changed... i really think i have to somehow flash a stock rom, but i did not find any. only RUUs, but if usb doesnt work... bad
I checked with USBDView but the HOX is not found. No entry about the HOX, whatever USB-Port I use...
Are you sure phone screen says:
"fastboot usb"?

Yes i am. Whereever i connect the hox i dont get a connection. Not in fastboot or in Rom mode

I checked the same as above at my office-pc. This is where i rooted the phone and flashed the custom rom. In USBDView i see, that a htc android device is installed and was once connected. But now no htc-device gets connected. Fastboot changes to Fasboot USB if i connect the USB-Cable. So something is happening, but i think only on the phone, not on the computer...
So now I did some new checks:
Tried with linux -> does not connect
My idea:
Flashing a stock rom, which does not require a custom boot.img. If someone could find one? USB worked before i flashed the new rom. So if i can flash back, it should work again, right?
All on ICS, CID:
x.xx.166.x - Vodafone CH-DE (Switzerland - Germany) - VODAP110
Check the nandroid backup thread in the general section ! Maybe there is one for you !
Nope, there isn't. But I am now doing the following:
- Extracting the Rom from the RUU (via %temp%)
- Uploading to Dropbox
- Downloading from Dropbox to HOX (now)
- Flashing the ROM
Hope this works
Airdroid would be quicker than using your internet upload link, well, for most!
Yes, if the WLAN is in the same Subnet as the LAN . But here i can not access WLAN from LAN and otherwise. And i have a 3G flaterate, so i use it.

Ok, now i tried to flash the unchanged rom but i only get:
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Installing update...
Installation aborted.
What do i do wrong?
I'm not sure you can flash that thing from CWM.

What should i do?? (i guess root and s-off, but not sure)i searched in xda and Google, but still no idea.
Can anyone can help? Hope u can give me the link as well.
Hi.
YOU NEED 100% Battery for this!
Fist off you will need to download AAHK (Advance Ace Hack Kit) http://tau.shadowchild.nl/aahk
FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS TO THE LETTER I can not stress that enough. This WILL wipe your phone so if you want to keep SMS's use this download http://tinyurl.com/csl5qx7 (linked to play store)
Do the SMS Backup first if you want to. Then do the AAHK. This will downgrade your phone (wiping) and then root it for you with one button (Easy Right?!)
Now, you need to turn your phone off compleatly, so take the battery out and back in again. Then you need to press the power button and the volume down at the same time. This will take you to the Bootloader screen, There should be some little android guys at the bottom of a white screen. Now you need to navigate using the volume rocker to something called recovery screen and press the power button to select it. In there you will need to find the backup and restore menu using the volume rocker to navigate again. And then you need to make a backup of your current ROM. This WILL take a while.
while that is happening you need to find a ROM. Its personal preference really but one that I use that is JellyBean is http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1778202 (JellyTime) Very good ROM. Store that somewhere one your computer where it is easy to find.
When the backup is complete reboot your phone by the option in recovery.
You now need to transfer your ROM's zip file over to the phones SD card and rename it update. With the JB ROM you will also need to transfer the Gapps zip that should be on the same page as the ROM that I linked. When that has done then you need to reboot and go back into the recovery screen the same way as before.
When in recovery, you need to "wipe Data/Factory reset" and then just to be on the safe side "wipe cache partition" you then need to find the "apply update from SD card option and select it. This will now update to the JB ROM. When that has done navigate to the "install zip from SD card" option and install the Gapps zip. When that has done reboot and enjoy your shiny new ROM!
Enjoy!

You can use the guide in my signature to learn the basics, if you are not used to it. The rest is reading the manual and the Hack Kit site...:good:
If you need a backup of your current rom, you can unlock the bootloader, flash recovery, make a backup, relock and run the hack kit.
Thank you all.
But there is still problem there.:crying:
I had uninstalled htc sync and install the htc driver in AAHK, but still don't work.

Did you uninstall and install the driver while the phone was not plugged in? If not, try that.

The hack kit installs it the first you run it, so there is no need to install anything.

Is the driver installing succesfully? after installing and plugging the phone, you will see the device manager install the driver and will prompt "device is ready to be used".
If that is happening, then make sure that you are using the oem cable and that the usb port is 2.0 and not 3.0. Use a different usb port...that is merely a connectivity issue. Have you checked connectivity per le effen manual?
Yes, I did everything, but its still don't work. I don't know why.
I try to uninstall everything, then redo completely.

Hi all,
I'm looking into potentially S-Off'ing my phone using the beaups route, but I'm not entirely sure where to find the HTC Drivers he says we need to complete the s-off.
Does anyone have a link?
Just hook your phone up to the pc, let it install the drivers and sync, uninstall sync and delete it. Run beanups. And sit back and smile in shock and awe at how awesome your phone it's after.

So I managed to Brick my Ouya pretty bad I think.
I installed a version of Xposed Framework onto my Ouya and then rebooted it. After rebooting my Ouya it became stuck and would not boot. It is stuck on the screen with the little Ouya symbol.
I have tried the ALT + Prt sc + I and deleted all user files and cache partition.
The big problem I am having is I cannot connect my Ouya onto my computer in order to Flash the Original framework via ADB.
The Ouya drivers will not install on my computer.
So at this point I am not sure what to do. If anyone has any ideas that can help please let me know.
I'm not a developer, but can follow directions
Thanks.

Download the zip file and install the driver it has in it.
If you're running windows 8 or 8.1 you have to disable driver signature enforcement or something like that.
Once you get the driver installed boot back into recovery and sideload the latest firmware from here
