Hi,
Thanks in advance for your help!
I have an AT&T Samsung Galaxy S III with Android 4.0.4.
I need to type Chinese sometime in text so I downloaded Google Pinyin App (A Chinese Typing App) from Google Play.
But every time before I send messages, it warms me that my receivers may not get it right due to my setting. It asks me to change input mode to Automatic. If I insist to send them, receivers will get a lot of question marks.
I tried to change input mode to automatic in setting but I can't find the option.
I saw some similar questions in the forum but no one explained the details about how to change it to automatic mode.
Anyone knows please help me with that.
Thank you again.

Hi, I have got a UK Touch Pro 2 branded Vodafone but it has the latest standard HTC WM 6.5 ROM installed (after Hard SPL).
I have installed TomTom and fixed the BTTrayCE error that created and also patched the clock which annoyingly wants to always show a time 1 hour and 2 mins behind, before flipping down like a 70s alarm clock to the correct time. I’m sure the programmer thought this was fantastic, but it’s just annoying and pointless! (/rant).
My problem is that I can’t find the spell checker. On my older XDA phones and my Touch Pro 1, in text messaging after typing a message, I just did Menu --> Spell check. It even allowed me to add words which it stored in the custom.dic file which I have been carrying from device to device as I upgraded phones.
However, even using the ‘proper’ text messing in Messages-->All Messages --> new message, when I click on the menu button all I get is “Add Recipient, Insert >, Quick Text, Save as Draft and Discard”. There is no spell check option!
The Vodaphone ROM which was slow and full of bloatware and incorrect settings for my network did have a spell check under menu – as did all the previous versions of WM.
I have tried enabling the XT9 feature and it does the XT9 thing of suggesting words and selecting them when you press space. This is quite rubbish for two reasons, it doesn’t auto correct i to I and you have to watch each word carefully, because if you type “hell” it might autocorrect it to “he’ll” depending on what you last chose. This results in having to go back and change about 5 - 10% of words, which is really annoying.
I have fiddled with the XT9 settings under Start/settings/all settings/personal/input/options and the only selectable input method is “Touch Input” although the hardware keyboard works and the options don’t seem to make much of a difference.
I have been searching for 4 hours now and hope that you might be able to help, please!!
Does anyone have a similar problem? Does anyone know if the standard HTC ROM should have a spell checker or not?
Does the ring/lock/erase function of Find My Phone at windowsphone.com work for anyone? It has no issue mapping my phone, but if I attempt to ring it or anything else, it doesn't work. I'm in Canada. Does it depend on how much service you have? I've only ever really tried it in 1/2 bar areas.
Used the "ring" function once and it worked perfectly. Samsung Omnia 7 on SingTel in Singapore.

The ring/lock function uses text messaging to send commands and from what i understand, you can only send 4-5 such commands per month/(some timeframe). Try re-installing apps from the web marketplace and it tells you that it failed to send it to the phone after a few apps.
The workaround for that, which is not enabled by default, is to go to
settings> find my phone > and check 'connect to these features faster'
this then uses regular 'push' settings to send commands to your phone and are not restricted such as the text message commands are.
Try to turn this feature on, wait a few minutes and try it again.
Had this problem since I purchased a case with Bluetooth Keyboard Back in November of 2013. When I activate the keyboard, the first keystroke duplicates in my lock screen password. Also in spreadsheets it will duplicate the first keystroke in a cell. This happens CONSISTENTLY and REGULARLY. I've seen other forum sites with posting on this same issue, but NO resolution. Any help would be appreciated
Kitty Kat took care of that on my 3 Notes. Also look at Null Input Method.

Keystroke duplication
How do I check/change theNull Input method. Also, what is the version number for KitKat? I'll see if my tablet is on that version. Thanks
4.4.2. Go to the Giggle Store, download/install Null Input Method and set it up/select like any of your other keyboards.

Hi everyone,
Q1:
I just noticed that Restricted account still has access to gallery. Is there a way to limit this access?
Q2:
As another question: Is there a way to log in and log out like Windows on kitkat? I mean I hate to enter my key every time I turn on the screen while working, and it would be nice if you can log out when you want to leave your device. Let me describe the situation a little more precise: I work with my device (e.g., reading papers) in work and some times I leave my office. When I am in the office it is a pain to have a passlock since I end up entering that many times. On the other side, every time I go out I have to set a passlock which is not very convenient!
I tested a passlock quick enable and disable app on my rooted mobile phone but it was not working properly and I can not use it for my tablet since it is not rooted.
Any solutions?
Hello, all.
When I use Google Assistant on my Huawei Watch 2 and include personal information (e.g. "Take me home."), it gives me the following error message:
Actually, I need permission before I can answer personal questions about you. To change your settings, just open the Google Home app on your phone. Once that's done, ask me again!

This started happening maybe a month back or so. I know that I was able to ask personal questions at first when I got the watch. I have tried looking through the settings on the Google Home app, but I haven't found anything relevant. The watch doesn't even show up as a device alongside my Google Homes, Chromecast, and phone.
I originally had a Nexus 6P, and I recently upgraded to a Pixel 2 XL. I don't know if that has anything to do with what's happening, but I would find that pretty strange. I'm not sure exactly when this started happening, so I don't know if there's any correlation between changing phones and this issue. I just checked, and the watch says the system is up-to-date, and all installed apps are up-to-date.
I was hoping that an update would be pushed to the watch that would fix this, but it's been a long time, and I still have the same issue.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
Lets try...
Hi,
lets try the following method:
In your Google App on your Smartphone go to Settings -> Accounts & Privacy -> Google Activity Controls
What does it show here?
Is it the right E-Mail-Address?
If you want to use personalized orders, Google needs to track your information. E.g if you want to say "show me the home rout", it has to analyze, where your home is.
As far as I know, Google does this by checking, where your phone is (via GPS) most of the time - but thats just an idea.
Hope I could help you!

Hello.
I just checked, and the email is correct. All of the options are set to "On."
I guess I should add that when I tell my phone to take me home, that still works fine. Also, my Google Homes know where my work is. So, it shouldn't be an issue where Google isn't able to query for that personal information. I have that enabled for my account. But for some reason, I can't do it from my watch.
Any clue yet?
Did anybody figure out how to fix this?
Many others have posted the exact same problem.
