reboot into download mode with the hardware keys volume down and home press and hold them till it pops up in download mode plug in phone and click the flash button in one click!

Was this during the rooting process or after you tried to install a custom rom?
You really cant brick it after the odin portion of the rooting because it just flashes CWM temporarily. Unless you had a bad download or something.

Fyi you arent bricked you are stuck in a bootloop, so his rooting method will still work.

Keep holding the power button down until the phone vibrates. If you have the phone charging, unplug it and hold the power button down. The battery icon is what appears when the phone is plugged in, but not turned on. In some cases the phone will not turn on (I think if the battery level is too low) even when holding down the power button if it is plugged in.
Fail..

Look, the problem it seems to be in the boot, because it is recognized normally in the computer, enters in the download and recovery mode, accept change of roms, but when I turn it on… it shows the pictures of the battery with a loading symbol, just like the youtube videos when are loading….
It seems to be something simple, I would like someone who really understands about this to help me out…
Did you do the proper wipes before flashing a rom? Make sure your battery is charged? I think you need to do some more reading

soo umm i just flashed CWM touch 6.0.1.0 and restarted my phone and for some reason my phone wont turn on... i plug it in the charger and it does nothing at all. also plugged into USB on my computer and the drivers kept popping up to install but keep failing but the phone wont do anything at all.
also tried going into download mode and fastboot mode and nothing
This should have been asked in Q&A, but I'm going to ask the obligatory questions and hope a mod moves this thread to Q&A.
What version phone do you have (maguro(yakju**/takju**), toro, toroplus?
Did you install the correct ClockworkMod recovery for your phone?
Will it not turn on at all?
If it does turn on, does it hang at the Google screen, or do you not even feel the vibration confirming the phone is on?
Was your battery charged before attempting to install the recovery?
Can you get into fastboot mode by holding both volume buttons and the power button?

well the problem is i cant even boot into download mode or anything at all the phone will not even power on at all (no google sign or screen turn on and no vibe)
i was about to flash a new rom but i wanted to hurry and flash CWM touch but when i downloaded it i guess i clicked the wrong link and picked the nexus 7 CWM touch and flashed that
Yank battery, leave it out for a few minutes...maybe even ten. Plug phone into AC (not USB) wall charger. Let sit like that for two to three minutes. Put battery back in phone while phone is still plugged in. Let sit for an hour or so to get a charge on the battery (in case it dumped). Try powering on.
Just saw you think you flashed N7 recovery....ouch. Time to download Wugs kit and see if you can get it back. I'd still try the steps above for the hell of it.

Seriously, stop advertising toolkits already, OP don't need it to fix this problem..
OP, search for omap flash.

Plug in your phone and go to device manager and see if you see OMAP as a device listed.

I would try following that guide IF your computer still detects your phone as OMAPxxx

Any thoughts here, so far have come up with nothing. I was running odin trying to update and got interupted partially through the process. I'm able to boot the phone on, however it quickly flashes the Samsung screen then proceeds to the "Samsung Galaxy S3" screen where it hangs. I can't boot into recovery, I can't boot into download mode. All I can do is power the phone on and get stuck on this screen. It hangs there until I pull the battery. I've tried every combination possible to boot into recovery & download mode to no avail. If I plug the phone into my computer I can't get it to be recognized since its stuck on this screen. I don't think it's bricked since i'm able to power on, just stuck.
Any thoughts?
If you can still turn it on you can definitely get to download mode. Make sure you're doing the combo right..

That combo is not working. No matter how long/short I hold it or how long/short I wait after the battery pull it still goes straight to the GS3 Logo and hangs forever. I think its bricked. Maybe I need to try a usb jig...

Well I'm sure it's not bricked but this is the first time I've heard a jig mentioned and I don't wanna pull my hair out cuz of a stupid comment. A jig would definitely do the trick here. I assume you don't have one so a word of advice : use Ebay. And buy from someone in the states. Its more than worth the few extra bucks.
I agree that your phone is more than likely not bricked like you may think. You need to hold down the 3 key combo until the screen actually powers on and then let them go. It takes a good 5-7 seconds after the phone vibrates before the screen powers on and then let them go. It should go into download mode and if you still can't get it then sometimes having someone else try it is all it takes.... but most definetly your phone is not hard bricked if it powers on.

To OP. Fully charge your battery or use another one if its corrupt.
Try booting up into both recovery or download mode using the proper combination.

Yep. It just loops on the splash screen. I'll try charging it to full and repeating your solutions. (It died off at 80%, very strange). Thanks for your replies though!
Ok guys, seems that my issue isnt the phone being bricked. I left the battery out all night and popped it in the next morning. CM loaded just fine. However after about 10 seconds of it loading, the power menu flashed, i clicked cancel, and then it immediately shut down again, and the usual problem continued. Any thoughts? (btw the phone died at 80% battery the first shut down it had, right now it should have been nearly 100% after charging) Also, connecting it via USB doesn't help at all. Sometimes the blue recovery words flash when i try to boot into recovery, but nothing happens after that.

It could be a bad battery. Might also be the battery contact points. Worse case is something is wrong with power channels on the Mobo. If it is the last then you will have to warranty the phone if you're still covered. I would borrow a battery first to rule out whether or not it is the battery itself.

The power button seems to operate normally, but that could also be one of the things that are causing problems. Once i find someone nearby with an S3 battery i'll see if it's actually a battery problem (most likely the case).
I'd thought i'd mention this as well, whenever i pop in the battery, the phone vibrates and tries to turn on, but doesnt actually do it. Anyone have any ideas what could be causing this? power button maybe, but battery?
If the battery out all night boots past the splash screen maybe you could, if you haven't, leaving it out and first thing try download mode. I've been in bad spots but this pretty crappy. Probably to technical for me but Good luck. Let us know how you do if none of the posts help.
Found the problem. The power button is always acting as if it's being pushed down when it actually isnt. The phone starts up perfectly when i hold the phone horizontally with the power button facing down. then when i put it back into portrait mode, the power menu flashes, and its turns off. any knowledge on how to fix this then?

I was using my Galaxy S2(SGH-T-989) normally today and it suddenly crashed when I opened my tether app. Now all it does is reboot constantly unless I remove its power source/battery. Sometimes the Samsung logo pops up but the screen just stays black and the phone constantly vibrates like its turning on. I tried to boot into both download mode and recovery mode withe every possible key combination and it does not work.
I also tried removing the battery and let it sit a while without power and then put the battery back in. As soon as i put the battery in it starts up in the loop again.
running Clockwork recovery mod and cyanogen
Any assistance would be appreciated.

Hello XDA,
I just acquired a samsung galaxy nexus i515 on vzw that a friend had given up on. (Not sure if that means its CDMA or not)
Heres the thing... I want to flash this stuff back to stock with ODIN and have the files necessary to do so... but I cannot get it to go into download mode.
In fact... all i recieve when I plug it in is an icon [a cellphone .. a triangle with an exclamation point .. and a computer monitor.] and it constantly connects and reconnects and redisplays this icon vibrates and shuts off in a cycle...
Holding the power button and volume buttons does nothing but go to this screen as well.
Any ideas? How would I go about fixing this... hopefully somebody has an idea!
