Get the stock firmware, extract the bootanimation.zip file and then add to your rom using instructions in thread above

So I know we don't technically have custom kernels for EF02 yet but how did Marcusant get the Droid eye boot animation in Anonymous Rom i3.... I've looked in the bootanimation.zip and there's only 1 PNG file in there (a solid black image).... I'm guessing the bootanimation is in a qmg file and if so how did he edit that type of file....
I'm not the only one pulling my hair out about this and would like anyone's insight on this matter.... Thanks In Advance =D
the boot animation is prob specific to the rom and can't be changed easily...and yes i am aware of the operation to change a boot animation!
I wish he was still here to tell me his magic spell for customizing it cause this is hurting my head lol..... do you think its in the qmg file and how would I unpack the qmg?
not a clue on how to unpack it and why isn't he here anymore?

I don't want this thread closed but he didn't ask permission to modify someones software.....
Its because its no just a bootanimation.zip file, its the stock one, just rom another phone and it already supports stock ones so it was just a mater of switching out stock animations and not a custom one.

???so the Droid eye animation is stock to another phone and that's all he did.....
Yup its stock to the droid charge so its a port.

This thread is dedicated for boot animation on Lulz/Tegrak kernel and should be compatible with any other custom kernels that support /system/media/sanim.zip
Please click on the file attachments below to download. I have also attached sample pictures.
Note:All the animated work are done by other developers, I just mod them and make sure they will work on your Lulz/Tegrak Kernel SGS 2

Boot Animation Request
If you have a boot animation request, please post on the forum with the original link to a updater version or bootanimation.zip. I'll see what i can do.
As all forum state
1. Don't ask for ETA
2. Flash/Update at your own risk
3. Don't forget to click on Thanks if you like it.

Do they work with stock roms? If not, how to adapt them? I really like the minimal blue one

The update files were meant for Lulz/Tegrak kernel so those files wouldn't work with stock rom. I also have yet to try those script on CWM as well.
The easiest path right now is to install the Lulz/Tegrak kernel via odin from this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1118918
Question, are you familiar with ADB? Odin? Rooting? Is your SGS2 still stock?
p.s i like the minimal blue one also
Coool! cheers!
Your boot animation package is also available with any other custom kernels that support /system/media/sanim.zip

You can also download the file unzip it copy the sanim.zip and overwrite the sanim, zip on your phone /system/media
You can use either ADB or root explorer to do this.

The boot animation itself actually will work with most phone but these has been packaged to work with sanim.zip boot animation.
You can check your /system/media see if you have boot animation.zip or sanim.zip and just extract my sanim.zip to replace the file.

I'm looking for someone to simply post the stock boot animation I don't want to download a 500+ mb file for it
Are you wanting the .qmg files?

Is it a bootanimation.zip? Or is that aosp only
Only Aosp or ktoonses Sammy kernel support bootanimation.zip files right now.
If you want the .qmg files, no problem. I haven't found a stock bootanimation.zip yet though.

Hey I just flashed the Liquidsmooth AOSP ROM and I was wondering if anyone could get me to the default boot animation. I just like that clean boot animation that it comes with. Thanks in advance

Hi,
I have been trying for some time to get a custom boot animation on my S3 with no success. I've read various threads each saying to place bootanimation.zip in either data/local or system/media but both methods don't seem to work for me.
I'm running Jedi Invasion 2.1 rom with KT747 JB kernel
Any help/advice/answers?
Thanks

The only way for the S3 so far is to use a custom ROM that supports flashable boot animations.
