flash one of richard's kernels that contains the audiomod, it should increase the loudness .
as for notifications like SMS , go to the menu where u chose the notification sound ,press on it , u'll get the list of notification sounds for sms,use vol+ or vol- to set it's loudness
installed Froyo Kernel [email protected] min via rom manager
phone reboot loop
any idea what went wrong
installed fresh rom and kernel all seems fine no difference to volume though
cheers
For those using JB/4.1 - is volume rocker seek enabled for switching songs on media players. I'd like to give the new build a try, but wouldn't want to go to the trouble if it still hasn't been enabled.
The rom i'm considering is: [ROM][GSM]Jellybean 4.1 JRN84D: Stock Rooted Busybox Deodexed - v2 (6/29/12)
Thanks for the help!
No, that is not a stock feature. It is a feature that many ROM devs add into custom ROMs. So since that ROM you linked is stock, no.
I know JB is pretty much new to our device and I'm loving my JB experience so far. But just out of curiosity is it possible to set boot audio for a JB rom (specifically Whitehawx AOKP JB ROM)? I used old ICS method to change boot animation but the old ICS method doesn't seem to work the same for boot audio. Thanx in advance
SGH_T989 (Hercules)
TWRP 2.2.0
AOKP JB 8-14
TDJ's Venom 7.2 (AOKP)
UVLE1 Mod Radio
Would love to go to a non sense rom, particularly ICS or JB.
The poor sound quality that I have experienced flashing stock ICS/JB roms have left a lot desire. They just don't compare to a Gingerbread Sense rom, they sound quiet and very tinny.
Has anyone discovered a newer release of a stock ICS/JB rom that has improved/better sound over previous versions?
Thanks.
Anyone had any luck flash these mods either on an stock ics or jb rom?

You can try running the minidsp command (snd3254 -dspmode xx) from Terminal Emulator or Gscript.
This command applies sound enhancements to the speaker or headphones.
Most ROMs already include this command and the necessary files for the sound enhancements.

Hello everybody,
I recently installed bigxie's 4.2 (Odexed) JellyBean ROM, and reinstalled DSPManager v3 using CWM.
However, it seems DSPmanager 3 is incompatible with jellybean 4.2, as soon as I open "Equalizer" from play music and try and change the custom EQ settings (from the DSP 'graph'), DSPManager crashes. It used to work perfectly on bigxie's 4.1.2 de-odexed rom.
Can anybody confirm that this is a Android issue and are there currently any workarounds or solutions to this?
(Or is this due to the ROM not being de-odexed?)\
EDIT: Attached the file from adeklipse's post as the dropbox link referred to is overloaded.

This one worked for me (I didn't crash on me, at least). I don't have a headset right now, so I can't test the output, but the equalizer works for our phone speakers.
Cool thanks!
Will try it out soon and give an update!

Thank you works perfectly on my Maguro. I'm running Cyanogenmod 10.1 nightlies by fitsnugly/euroskank.
I hate to necro a thread, but I am running Clean ROM ACE by Scott, It's JellyBean 4.1.2, I installed DSP manager by flashing it with TWRP, and it didn't show up.. So I just installed the APK, and it installed.. but all it does is crash...

Will this work on my Galaxy Note 2?
Just flashed CarbonROM 1.1 and Franco Kernel r365 on my VZW Galaxy Nexus.
Installed DSP Manager 2.0, and everything works until I try setting an equalizer preset. Bass boost and virtual room effect both work, but DSP starts force closing once I try adjusting the equalizer. Anyone having the same issue and/or know why this is happening?
Worked on AOKP EDISON for motorola Atrix 2
