Would love to go to a non sense rom, particularly ICS or JB.
The poor sound quality that I have experienced flashing stock ICS/JB roms have left a lot desire. They just don't compare to a Gingerbread Sense rom, they sound quiet and very tinny.
Has anyone discovered a newer release of a stock ICS/JB rom that has improved/better sound over previous versions?
Thanks.
Anyone had any luck flash these mods either on an stock ics or jb rom?

You can try running the minidsp command (snd3254 -dspmode xx) from Terminal Emulator or Gscript.
This command applies sound enhancements to the speaker or headphones.
Most ROMs already include this command and the necessary files for the sound enhancements.

Hey, since I'm still relatively new I am unable to post on sebastiaan15's AIO thread. My question is since upgrading from 2.5 to 3.0.4 by wiping everything and installing from scratch I am unable to use DSPManager. Whenever I open DSPManager and enable the bass mode the app FC's on me. When I open it again it immediately FC's on me again. Could anyone recommend what I should do?
I think it may be the XLoud causing conflict but I am not 100% sure. Could someone tell me how to completely remove it from the ROM?
did you flash the No_XLOUD patch? you should try it, especially if you flashed the Deodexed ROM. I'm not sure it will work on the Odexed one...
I am on the Odex ROM. However when I was on the 3.0.3 AIO CM7 r2 ADSDX ROM yesterday the problem was still there. Kinda disappointed that it does not work anymore Could you recommend any other sense ROMs that are fast with low lag?

I'm really sorry to hear that. I am quite a fan of DSPManager, however I have only tested it on the Runnymede AIO 2.2... May I suggest you try the De-odexed 3.0.4 ROM? As far as I know, there is not a lot of performance to be gained in the Odexed version, while in the Deodexed version you can still use all the addons by Seebastian15. I am about to flash the deodexed one, and I will install DSP. I will keep you informed.
UPDATE: I'm using DSPManager with no problems at all. I disabled Xloud using the addon and the deodexed ROM... you should try it mate! Hope this helps.
Flash the addon noxloud. Zip, make sure You rom not the odex version.
Why not use the beats audio effective. That contain some sound effect.
Currently reverted back to 2.5.1 as I need DSPManager for the bass it provides to the Music in Poweramp.
@redsmith Could you try this version of DSPManager from the Desire CM7 as it contains the added bass settings. Please tell me if it FC's when you tick the bass button:

@sjn01 The depth of bass by beats is nothing compared to the bass provided DSPManager. This is why I need DSPManager as it cranks out loads of bass.
I am using Acronium 7.1 GB Rom, I like MIUI Rom, but main problems which I face on MIUI are
1. Music Quality (Bass Effect) is better on Stock Based Roms
2. Auto Screen Brightness is better on Stock Based Roms (Stock based ROMs have better brightness even in sunlight)
Can anyone suggest me good MIUI ROM which has good 2Way Call Recording??
Right now I am using Doom's Kernal and Custom Call Recording software which works flowlessly on Stock Based Roms.
I tested a lot of roms, and the best SRS is on this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1246626&highlight=beatmod+bliss
This rom is now outdated(android 2.3.5-it cant play .FLAC audio file) since the developer is already on the other side..
can someone please port the SRS/BEATS of the this rom to any ICS rom. The new Beats/SRS on any latest roms sucks..or can someone teach me(or share a link) on how to make a custom rom..
I like ICS because it supports flac audio file. I tested all the new ICS-sense based rom, still the best SRS is on the rom that i mentioned(gingerbread custom rom).
That's one reason I don't use ics roms, and it doesn't zoom out in email. Try blackout rom
I already tried that, same as others..
Hello, I am searching for a ROM 2.3 DHD without sense, I found cyanogen but the videocamera in 720p is broken, there is any ROM 2.3 without sense that works all functions? or there are any posibility of replace the cam of 2.3 cyanogen for sense cam? is there apk or something like that? (I'm noob, ok)
Thanks.
Look for a MIUI GB ROM. I'm not sure about the camera resolution but it's fine working. Try on miui.us or take a in the rom list thread,
The video camera on CM 7.2 works perfectly in 720p. How are you saying its broken?

MIUI roms are great!
I've used 2 roms from different devs and both of them are fully functional.
1) MrGarak rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=970196
2) a user rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1196670
The last one is a little newer but both of them are great.
You could also flash miui.us or miuiandroid roms as they are great as well.

I know you said 2.3 but the ICS and Jellybean (and even jb 4.2 only missing bluetooth) roms are very stable, i did think at first that gingerbread was what HTC gave us, so I should use that, but the ICS roms are rock solid, most with NO ISSUES!!
I would at least get ICS. Jelly bean also smoothens the whole android experience, although Jelly bean battery life seems not as good as ICS or GB.
If you are sure about Gingerbread, Leedroid and cyanogenmod are both excellent roms with no issues (to my knowledge).
I am trying some custom roms like paranoid android, revolution hd,omega, crash, resurrection remix,slimbam...... and a few more, might go for crash rom, i like the dsp manager from cyanogen alot, especially the bass boost.
Had dsp manager installed on one custom rom (can't remember witch one and if it was based on cyanogen) where it sounded terrible like it only enhanced midbass and as if it was played in a big room on speakers made out of a thin wooden or plastic .
I would like it if i could get dsp manager to work and sound as good as it did with resurrection remix, deep and precise with no distortion (much better then i could get using the equalizer to adjust the bas with)
http://android.appstorm.net/how-to/music/install-and-configure-dsp-manager-on-any-rom/ can get it to work doing as in the link?
I had tried to install it (not as in the link and i can't remeber what romit was) and it didn't work
Had AwsomeBeats (basically dsp manager with another name) on one of the customs roms and it didn't work
I am using jelly bean 4.1.2
