Before anything, I tried searching and could not find anything on this, but then again, I am new at trying to find things on the forums here..
But i love using the AOSP or AOKP roms on my phone, but ever since AOKP went from 10/22 to the newer updates, everytime I stream music or videos on my car, it sounds like its either coming out mono or like a really old radio... so i switched to TW to test it out and every TW rom it works perfect... Tried it on PA, AOKP, CM10 nightlies and stable, Slim Bean, Codefire, and all of them have this issue while streaming.. Now for some that is minor, but i travel a lot, so i like to stream my music... so if anyone can please help me with this I would really appreciate it..
thanks in advance

Im trying to see if anyone else has AVRCP 1.3 working in any AOSP ICS rom out right now. Supposedly CM9 and AOKP incorporated it into build 32 but I cant get it to work on my head unit. Stock ICS TW ROMS work. Has anyone else got the track info meta data to stream to the unit on any AOSP rom?
OLD POST
Im buying a head unit for my car that has AVRCP 1.3 support for for meta data. Does any of the stock roms support this..ICS or GB? Or how bout the CM9 Builds? If not can i get the stack and push it into the phone?

Got my Head unit in. Im running the ICS build and the meta data is showing on the unit fine. Cant speak for CM9 on ET4G but on my OG epic its a no go
Seems that none of the AOSP roms have AVRCP 1.3 support only ICS TW roms do.
No AVRCP 1.3 Support on AOSP
Hey All,
I have been researching this topic as well since I use my phone in my Civic over bluetooth. Unfortunately any AOSP 4.0.x doesnt have this support only TW ROMs have it. I really want to use AOKP or Codename, but I like to see the artist and track name.

So does anyone know if any E4GT roms other than stock ones support AVRCP 1.3? This is a must have feature for me, but I personally prefer AOSP roms. Sounds like this is only gonna work with Touchwiz based roms, huh? Crap.

Supposedly CM9 and AKOP do but I cant get it to work. I want to know if this is a upstream problem or a problem with our ports..
Aokp avrcp 1.3
So I have tested this and it is working on AOKP v32 in my 2012 Civic. The only weird part is that it shows an odd track #.
Please note this will only work with play music (google music) and the stock music player.

Yea im using play music but I get nothing. I have this unit and I know AVRCP 1.3 works because stock ICS works. Im lost.
It seems that the implementation of AVRCP 1.3 is not working correctly for alot of users. MarcLandis over at Rootz is working on it and has some builds that are showing improvement.

I survived rooting an S3, flashing CM9 and then having wi-fi work fine that day but cease functioning the next. I tried CM10 but that didn't fix the wi-fi issue. I went back to stock 4.1.1 LK3 and wi-fi works. Are the wi-fi drivers in CM not that good? Nothing I tried could get connectivity after the first day. Reflashing didn't fix the issue.
I can live with relatively minor bugs in ROMs, but not when it comes to wi-fi. What else should I be trying? I'm thinking of LiquidSmooth, but am open to suggestions. What I did love about CM was how fast it booted and ran.
One person here whose opinion I highly respect uses Task ROM and Lean kernel. Anyone else like those?
Well there are many different roms out there I personally run Jellybam which is a mixture of AOKP, CM10, and Paranoid Android. Also, it's pretty stable i have the occasional Wifi drops but you just have to turn it off and turn it back on and I have problems with the Paranoid Android part of it. From what i know Cyanogenmod has moved on to 10.1 which is 4.2.1 and i think AOKP has move on to 4.2.1 and i think they are still working on some bugs. But i haven't been on their threads in a while.
But i heard that AOCP The Collective and Jedi Invasion are stable roms just to name a few (don't know 100%) but i would read up on their threads before doing anything as to be 100% sure before flashing. For example I read that someone had problems with Jedi Invasion 2.1 but 2.0 worked great for them, etc.
i had horrible wifi on any rom i tried. it onky worked on stock for me when i turned off wifi power saving. however the newest aokp from task, android 4.2 has fixed my problems and i no longer experience problems.

I find it odd that wi-fi is such an issue given how common and universal this technology is. Plus wi-fi is such an essential service, far more than many other features. Appreciate the replies, which have given me new ROMs to research more closely.

Not finding this. Search has zero results. Wrong spelling?
Ive had wifi issues on all cm 10 and aokp based roms. I havent had any wifi issues on the newer cm 10.1 or aokp 4.2 or any of the touch wiz based roms. Another option is use an app called smart wifi toggler it seems to work pretty well and is free on the play store.

Well, I'm looking at Task & Ktoonsez AOKP Task 4.2.1 as a first-choice potential ROM, so your positive remark about wi-fi is good to read.
I do use the wi-fi toggle you noted, but it won't overcome a functional wi-fi issue in a ROM...at least for me.
Out of curiosity, do these hybrid ROMs run themes for CM, AOKP and others or only one specific type?
Task and Ktoonsez is a great ROM really stable. I was using it for a while but I am actually running Liquid Smooth RC9 right now and its my ROM of choice. I personally like the vanilla experience you get from Liquidsmooth. The Liquid Splasher is incredibly customizable, and no issues with wifi whatsoever.
Good luck!

I read LS thread and was concerned about posts regarding different RCs. Some love RC7, others RC9, and there seemed to be a lot of things waiting to be fixed. No? I'm probably going to try the TK ROM first, but am keeping an eye on LS because I have a second S3 that I will root and flash after first one is ready for daily use. The wi-fi issue is most important to me, so I'm interested that you have had no problems on your S3.
Is Liquid Splasher the launcher?
Does LS support AOKP/CM10 themes?
Liquid Splasher is the internal customizer to set a various array of settings and configurations, there is a huge amount of options so kind of hard to give you a detailed listing of what it can do. LS Launcher is stock nothing special about it but you can always just install nova if you prefer nova.
Yes I have been able to run AOKP themes.
Heres the unofficial thread about LS http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2012791
I am sure you will really like Tasks ROM its really good from the experience I had. But for me personally I am just having a lot more success with LS in regards to performance and app compatibility, and battery life. It seems everyone has a little different experience with custom ROM`s so I can only speak for myself that LS has been rock solid for me.
Hope that helps somewhat.
Yes, your remarks have been very helpful. Always good to read comments from someone with experience with these things. Most appreciated.
I'm still on stock ICS and I found out that Samsung released Jelly Bean but if I have to flash a ROM through Kies I might as well bite the bullet and get a custom ROM. I've been poking around the development forum and can't really choose one. CM10 and Liquidsmooth both look alright but then I read about problems with Bluetooth and a crackling sound. I use Bluetooth in my car almost everyday and if I can't get a somewhat clear sound I might not want these ROMs. Can anyone suggest ROMs that might be what I am looking for? The things I am looking for are battery (Right now I get strange wakelocks (bam_mux_lock or some such in Better Battery Stats), GPS, Bluetooth, and a smooth running, no lag system.
Can anyone give suggestions?
From my experience, the touchwiz ROMs seem to be more stable. I'd highly recommend Jedi knight or intergalactic.

Going to try out Intergalactic, thanks!
Darthstalker from Jovy23 is a fantastic rom very stable and just awesome looking I highly recommend it.

had my S3 rooted and flashed AOKP's very stable 4.1.2 rom within an hour of getting it home. i'm extremely pleased with my phones performance. i've used AOKP roms (including task650s) in the past and have always enjoyed them. in addition, i've also flashed the 4.2 camera and a few stock sammy apps back onto to the phone to get it exactly how i want it. there's no reason to ever be running an android phone fully stock.
Hmm. ok soo I have been running CM 10.1.3 now for a few weeks and realy love it. But I cant seem to shake bluetooth problems (BT connection keeps dropping and stuttering). And that is extremely important to me, Car, home work all need streaming bluetooth. it will work fine for a bit then just starts skipping. Im trying one last fix but im not hopeful...soooooo its back to TW based roms for me I think.
I really want to be able to keep stock dialer and messages, I love that from AOSP (3rd party ALWAYS seem slow to me but i hate the colors of TW).
Ive been looking at the Hyperdrive Rom and Dandroid. (well Omega too, but i dont think we have a release for any 4.2.2 JB on TW for ATT yet, right?)
they both seem to be strong, and i know this is such a loaded question. Ive tried to go through at least the last 10 pages, plus first 10 pages of each ROM just to get a feel for each and i did see some BT issues but that doesnt seem to be the norm. and I do like the themeing that Dandroid did, but unsure on if any of the hyperdrive mods make it significantly better....
Anyone have any thoughts?
Oh i was on Synergy prior to moving to CM, and while it was rock solid, it seems to have stagnated a little.
thanks
S3Rx for the win!
Please try the ROMs for yourself and see how they work for you. Members on this development site are expected to do the research before drastically altering their $700 device. If you have a question whether Bluetooth works on a specific ROM either ask in Q&A or in the ROM thread if questions are allowed in that thread.
Thanks for your understanding

I picked a pair of these phones cheap on ebay and I'm excited to see all the options for such an old phone. My question for you guys is what Rom would you recommend? One of the phones is going to my wife. She doesn't care what version she is on. For her the camera has to work as well as texting, and facebook, etc. etc. I think I saw an older gingerbread based rom that would do well for her but I can't see if their might be anything newer. As for me I'd like to get away with at least ICS so I can use google notes and I need the gps to work as it tracks my business mileage. Does anyone have any good suggestions? I was looking at Evervolv for me but the thread trailed off and I don't know if mms was ever fixed.

KitKat: MMS was never fixed on Evervolv 4 (kitkat). I gave up trying to fix it, and there has been very little activity on the legacy devices from the Evervolv team.
JellyBean: Tiny's CM10.1 was probably the best Jelly Bean build, the thread is here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2050930
I believe this is the most recent build: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2050930
Video Camera is either mostly broken or completely dead, I don't exactly remember, but other than that it worked pretty well, I ran that ROM as my daily driver for a long time.
ICS: Most of the links for ICS builds will likely be dead by now, but there is still a build of Evervolv ICS available at the bottom of this page:
http://evervolv.com/devices/inc
I ran that one for a while too, but I don't remember anymore if it had any nagging issues. Evervolv 2.2.0 is ICS, 3.0.0 is Jelly Bean.
For your wife, Gingerbread sounds like the way to go, CyanogenMod still has some builds on their site:
http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?device=inc
GPS should work fine on whatever ROM you choose.
Awesome! I pulled out my old Dinc so that I could make it my designated business phone since I didn't want to use my personal one! The last ROM I ever installed I remember having issues with lag

Thank you so much!
For me personally, I'm still using CM7. It's been great for, well, 3 years so far. I've played with ICS, JB, KitKat and such, but the stability of CM7 is great. I've been using the stable CM 7.2 build since it dropped in 2012.
The other ROM that is decently stable is of course the stock ROM. Though the data/data fix is just about necessary for it, seems to fill up faster with Sense vs AOSP.
I still use my Inc from time to time, and in service when my daily is being repaired or being sold. Been using the iPhone recently, but always come back at some point. Have to give each a try with each release,
You will find they aren't that fast in todays terms and rich, data heavy web sites and apps. But for general usage it's still just fine. I use CM7 and Smart Launcher or Launcher Pro, stock apps like Maps, Gmail, SMS, etc all work great. Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Dropbox, Evernote are also good to go. So it's still capable. Just take note the batteries are old if they haven't been replaced, and weren't ever very good to begin with.
Cheers!
