Could it be possible to install/run windows 7 on the HTC Desire Z?
No, never - thank God. Blasphemey!
Sent from a HTC G2
that only possible because that phone is running an intel atom processor. The desire z/g2 is running an ARMv7 processor which contains a completely different set of instructions.... Long story short it is possible to put linux on the phone but it is impossible to put windows7. On the other hand, microsoft mentioned that the next generation of windows will have ARM compatibility so while windows 7 will not work, windows 8(?) might be possible whenever it comes out.
If it really matters, you can always use an RDP app and link to a computer running win7 lol
Pretty much what the title says, my brother recently got a windows phone and I was just wondering if it would be possible to port over a windows ROM for talblts, specifically the kindle fire?
Don't think so for now because I'm guessing that the Kindle is basically wired for Android. If you want the Kindle to be like a windows phone, root it, install ICS and then search for launcher 7 in the app store.

I guess it might be possible with the ARM version.

@veeman
He is talking about Windows phone not Windows 8/RT
@OT
Your Best bet will be what notdeadyet01 said but I will go even further and get all the apps from the 7+ Android project here http://sevenplusandroid.org/
Edit: lets pretend as the above text does not exist
@OT
The main problems is drivers, the fact that windows RT is closed source, and will only be available to manufactures and it is unknown if the Secure Boot is build in the OS or just an obligation that is placed on manufactures
no offense to anyone but in my opinion windows just sucks. its boring, my mom has one, its smooth as F*ck but boring

I heard that ARM wasn't going to exist, plus it isn't open source because it's windows so therein lies another challenge. I would have to agree with notreadyyet and say go with ICS/GB and Launcher 7. If you want a Windows 8 tab you're going to have to buy one. But since android can just as easily mimic win7/8 (and have a better app selection) you'll probably be better off with android anyway.

windows 8 for arm will be called windows rt so yes it does exist, but only comes pre installed
I agree android is better, I was just thinking, like the iPhone where you can duakbit android and iOS, I just figured if you could it would just add to the possibilities of open source android.
Hi everyone!
I searched and searched for a couple of days but can't find an answer - I've owned an Amazon Kindle Fire HD 8 for a few months now and loved it, I've also owned several Fire Phones (to resell) and dang it, I've grown accustom to the OS!
Just got a shiny new Huawei MediaPad M3 and just out of curiosity, is there a way to install Fire OS into the tablet? I imagine there'll be barriers (hardware/software compatibility) similar to installing OSX on a Windows machine without using BootCamp, but hey - maybe one of you super smarts figured it out.
Thumbs up to anyone with useful info/answers. :good::good::good:
How do I put a different operating system on my 32gb surface rt 1st gen? I do not care what OS it is I would just like my device to be useable again with a different OS as I am having problems with win 8.1. I have seen old posts but it has been 8 years since 2013 and I was hoping for any new info or ideas.
I'm no expert with Amazon Fire devices.
Question is is it possible yet to root an Amazon Fire HD 8 Tablet 10th Generation?
Just it would be nice to see the apps files I have installed and maybe amend them.
Sorry more used to a laptop running windows.
I would love to root thisand stop getting sidetracked and returning to my old laptop which mm however was sabotaged by the same peoplw but wait mmm no ones ever who you think they are but they are wait
