Screen dim and headphone settings - HTC One X

I've hunted all over and can't seem to find the answer to this one so can someone help please.
I want to set things so that the screen dims depending what app I'm using. For example I use my phone for music in the car with n7 player and Im trying to set it up so that when I plug it into the car ( charging and headphones connected) the screen doesn't dim, but it does when not on charge if that makes sense. Any ideas of an ap or solution to this please?
Thanks in advance
Dave

You could try an automation app like Tasker or Locale.
Both can do lots off things automatically based on various conditions like time, charging, sensors, etc.
Both are paid apps but there are also lots of freeware apps like this.
I use locale to automatically connect to wifi at certain locations, set ringer volume off at work, set screen brightness based on light sensor and battery level...

Thanks,
Will give tasker a try

Customize led notification?

I want to be able to change how fast the led blinks bc every time I look at it I have to stare at it for at least 30+ seconds to see if I have a message. Thx

If you're rooted you can use the app called light flow. It allows you to change the color of each notification light and the frequency it blinks at

Light Flow
You can use the Light Flow app to manage your notifications. You can alter the light speed (slow to always on), and light color, along with vibrations.
It's nice to be able to know whether or not you got an e-mail or a text, with only the vibrations in your pocket.
Check the market, comes in a "Lite" (free) version and a $1.99 full version (more apps supported).
Root is not required. I've been using it on my nexus since the day I got it.
Careful with Light Flow, When I installed it and set it up, whenever my phone went to sleep mode the program wouldn't allow my phone to wake up again. I summarily uninstalled it and got a refund.

An update from the developer takes care of this issue. The app works as advertised, quite well too.

I also recommend Light Flow, it has worked flawlessly for me. I really like how it allows you to choose whether you want the LED to rotate through all your notifications, show the most recent, or show the highest priority.
You don't even need to be rooted to use light flow!
is it possible to add WhatsApp to lightflow?
(I see its supported in "additional apps supported by light flow", but the device only detects Google Talk in social apps)
Yes, default colour green.

Go with Lightflow. Another nice feature for us crackflashers is, Lightflow will let backup your settings/preferences so once you set up a new rom and install the app it takes 2 seconds to restore your settings.

Recently whenever I enable lightflow in accessibility my phone gets all ****ed up and I can only do something if I use 2 fingers

Switch on and off automatically

Is there a way I can set the HTC One X to switch off at a certain time ie. 11pm and switch back on automatically at 7am?
Hello, you can't find any way to switch of and on. But you can use ring schedular appliation to on and off for airplane mode.
What's the benefit? I charge overnight, but battery consumption is so low when it sits idle anyway.

Have you tried Tasker? Not sure if it has a power option though.

cant see an option in Tasker and it would be very useful it auto turn on/off was available.
Green Power and Juice Defender can both be set up to disable all radio/connections and stuff for pre-defined timeframes.
I set it up so it goes to airplane mode at 23.00 till 06.00, switching of wifi, 2G/3G, BT, sync, etc...

[Q] soft keys light

i use mildwild rom how i can disable keys light in some sense roms is an option but in non sense i never found
I use the program 'Screen Filter' from the Play Store to turn then off. It also allows you to turn down your screen brightness a little more to try and reduce battery consumption.

Display "sunlight" mode?

So I was using my S6 today and noticed the screen was toggling between full bright (auto dim off) and a much brighter mode when in direct shot of the sun. Surprisingly, I could still read it! It looked great.
What is this called and is there a way to control it being on or off all the time? I'd like it on driving.
I don't think u can control that

The first time that happened with my Note 4 I thought I broke it. But it's automatic. No setting for it.
Is there an app that I can automate to essentially override the light sensor data? That'd be a dirty way of controlling this.

How can I turn off ambient display at night

I like the ambient display feature even though it's not perfect. My question is, how can I turn it off at night?? I have do not disturb setup but it still flashes.

Well it only blinks when you get notifications, so possibly if the device was in airplane mode or had the internet connection disabled that wouldn't be a problem.
Tasker or another automation program such as Llama could be used to automate the task each night.
Google needs to tie ambient and LED to do not disturb mode. Only makes sense. Have you checked the roms out? I'd bet one would have this implemented
Yeah I tried a few and couldn't find anything.
